Chapter 155 - Purification

The Demonoid looked up at Aaron in confusion, wondering what he was doing. He should have died, yet his attacker saved him. Aaron tapped his finger against the stringy Demonoid and stopped his cells from spinning, reverting their momentum back to zero while also healing up the hole in his stomach. He also made the black portal disappear as he did it. Aaron then began to piece the Demonoid back together with his mind, making sure he didn't leave anything out. The crowds watched as they saw something miraculous. They watched a Demonoid, monsters, or even gods that showed no mercy have mercy inflicted upon it by what appeared to be a random human. They didn't know what was going on, but they were now questioning their bet on who was more powerful.

Aaron watched as the strings of the Demonoid pieced themselves back together, almost like a Rubix cube being put back together after someone disassembled it, but with strands. Aaron saw the body being rebuilt from the ground up using the strings, and he couldn't help but be mesmerised by the fact that the Demonoid had no internal organs. It ran entirely off of mana. It was beautiful. Aaron couldn't help but be jealous of him, as this meant he could just create blood at will or whenever he wanted. Blood was just for cinematics, and Aaron mentally congratulated him for that, as it made Aaron feel overly strong.

Aaron watched as the body was pieced back together, and as the final stretch of string placed itself on his head, he crouched down, holding his newly-reformed head in his hands. He didn't know how to accept mercy or kindness. Where he came from, if you showed either of those two emotions, you were as good as dead. People would take advantage of you as much as possible, so you had to be on top while making everyone believe that was your rightful place. He was the one who reached the top, so now he was here.

Aaron walked over to him and simply rubbed his head, his black hair feeling almost greasy, yet not an unpleasant amount. Almost like he had put in just a bit too much hair gel, but it didn't really affect what was going on. The Demonoid just seemed to become even more confused from what was going on, as he didn't know how to properly handle positive emotions like this.

The Demonoid closed his eyes, and not a second later, his skin began to crack, revealing a silver and gold light inside him. That wasn't there when he was unravelled, so he must have just created the coloured shine. Aaron watched as more cracks appeared on his body. The body of the Demonoid then shattered, leaving a glowing sphere of gold and silver energy floating in the air. Aaron didn't understand what happened, but he tried to pick up the soul, only to meet this message.

[Soul Of The Demonoid God (Willingly Purified)]

[The Soul of a Willingly Purified Demonoid God. Something of such rarity only regarded within myths and legends as a Godly Artifact, something the gods spend thousands of years trying to obtain and failing.]

[This soul has many uses, such as an increase to your Boundless Percentage (50%) so it is recommended to use this when you reach either 50 or 60 percent so you can either reach your full potential or go beyond which is something which has never been done due to the temptation that the other two felt.]

"Wait, do they mean N and L? Did they obtain Purified Demonoid Souls too? Wow." Aaron wondered out loud as the current system proved another advantage you had when you possessed this soul.

[This soul can also summon its owner, the Willingly Purified Demonoid God, Elra, as an underling, which brings the permanent benefit of it being around ten times more powerful than you. Always. A servant stronger than the master. How strange is that?]

"Now I see why everyone wants it. It is essentially a summonable one-man army, and it all depends on how powerful the user is, even if they don't know what being boundless is." Aaron said to himself, the game still being broadcasted to the gods.

{Would you look at that, folks? The winner of this match, Aaron Stone, has created a Willingly Purified Demonoid God Soul! An Artifact so rare that none of us could dream about owning it!} The announcer yelled as people stared at the screen in complete awe. With such ease, he had gotten an item that would take people hundreds of thousands of years just to get a chance of obtaining it! How the hell did he do it?

N looked on from the stars, beyond the plain of the gods, a smile on his face. "The madman did it. He really went for the throat of everyone who wanted Boundless Abilities, even if they knew about them. It was a catalyst for unimaginable power....and he had just gotten one.

Aaron was curious as to what would happen if he tried creating a replica of this soul. A black portal appeared in Aaron's hand as another silver and gold soul floated out of it.

[Soul Of The Demonoid God (Willingly Purified) {Copy}]

[A copy of a Demonoid God Soul, with all of the same properties as the original, but it's just a copy. It isn't the real thing. You are the only person who can distinguish which one is a copy or not. This is indicated by a marking above it with the appropriate text showing 'Real', 'Fake', or 'Copy'. Just so that you don't give away the real one on accident.] The system told him before it glitched out.

[System Override Cancelled]

[Returning Proper Control...]

[Done.]

N just stared at Aaron with eyes of surprise from far away, as he knew what was about to happen to Aaron. "You've done it now. So many people are going to be on your tail now, so...it leads me to question..."

"How will you handle the oncoming wave?"
