"Honestly, I didn't think I'd be able to do such a thing, but I apparently can cure diseases or afflictions using my unique abilities," Aaron explained as Alec listened in shock. "Due to some certain situations, I gained some abilities, and now we are here."
Alec was just starstruck. He didn't know what was going on or what Aaron was saying, but he was ecstatic nonetheless. He got onto his knees as his mother sat up. She was bedridden before, but now she had the energy to sit up. It was almost like a god had given her a power boost.
[You helped her out, didn't you?]
'Well, of course, I did. It wouldn't be much of a help if Alec's mother stayed bedridden, despite being cured of her cancer, would it?' Aaron responded to the system, giving his reasoning. 'Plus, it will grant us an advantage in the future. We need every person we can get on our side in case something happens. It's great to not be alone in our cause, as I experienced on the past planet. It was fun, but the world was against me. Looking back on it, it wasn't as enjoyable as I thought it was at that moment.'
[Well, it's nice to see that you actually looked back on your memories. If you hadn't, it would have meant that you would never learn from your mistakes.]
'Yeah. Looking at your mistakes is one of the best ways of self-improvement. If you can't learn from your mistakes, what's the point of trying to be better?'
"Hey, Alec. Thanks for taking care of me. I really wasn't well, as you saw. The man you called Aaron Stone. He was the one who healed me, right?" Alec's mother, Maire, stated, trying to confirm the facts. "I wasn't really paying much attention to everything, as I was always tired, inexplicably. Although now, it feels like I have enough energy to lift a mountain! Well, not literally, but you know what I mean."
"The reason you feel like that is that I gave you a shot of power to boost the recovery speed of the healing I administered. With help from my head, all of the cancerous cells in your lungs died." Aaron explained, directing attention to himself. "You should be able to be up and working in a few hours, but I wouldn't recommend any hard work for at least six hours. Just stay at home for a bit, and you'll be ready to go."
Alec looked at Aaron in shock. "Is this what you meant when you told me that you'd be able to lend me your power temporarily?!" Alec responded in awe, his eyes gleaming. Aaron directed his gaze towards Alec as a chuckle began coming from him. "Yeah, I guess you could say that, Alec. I did say I gave her a shot of power, but it will go away in four hours." Aaron replied, leaving Alec confused.
"Wait. If the power shot will go away in four hours, why is it that my mother needs to wait for six before going outside?" Alec asked in confusion. He didn't understand the logic behind it. "Well, the extra two hours are just so that her body can get used to the decrease in energy, and if she needs to sleep for a little bit, she has the time to do that." Aaron explained as Alec understood what he was doing.
"Still, I can't thank you enough for what you've done, Aaron. You've healed me of my illness and even gave me strength, in the literal sense. Is there any way I can repay you?" Maire asked, looking at Aaron with eyes of hope. It was understandable why her eyes were like that. A miracle saved her, and this man acted like it was nothing. He was a god amongst men. You could say that there was a legendary being among them.
What they didn't know was that there was not one legendary being among them, but two. Those two were Aaron Stone, in the eyes of Alec and Maire, and Monument, the unrevealed guardian. Monument found it interesting that he wasn't exerting any aura, but he had a theory why. Aaron provided him with a body he could freely manipulate, and Aaron had decided to remove his presence. It was like he didn't exist to everyone who wasn't talking to him. Aaron and other guardians would be the only exception.
At an undisclosed location, a man missing an arm walked into an underground building. Met with strange stares from everyone who saw him, they all looked upon him as a freak. It left a distasteful impression of them in his mind as he sluggishly walked towards one important person. This man was the man behind all of his missions.
"Sir. I have to inform you that Alec Conway has been taken from our possession." He informed the man wearing a strangely made suit. It reminded him of suits that male royals would wear to fancy gatherings. "Some person in armour protected him and dealt a blow that made me lose an arm."
The man turned around, his face masked by a black cloud. It covered the front and sides of his face, so he didn't know what the man looked like. "You IDIOT!" The man yelled in rage, delivering a punch to the one-armed man. "You mean to tell me some man in armour knocked off your arm? What happened to your 'world-class fighting skills', huh?!"
The man calmed down, realising what he had done. A green aura radiated from his hand as the one-armed man gained his arm back. It was the person who had tried to take Alec.
"Listen, Joseph. You may not fully realise it, but that child is our one-way ticket to getting everything we want. He has power that he doesn't know about, and we need you to help him unlock it. Considering that he had decided to go against us, we have to resort to harsher methods."
"Get him back at ALL costs, you hear me?" The man told Joseph while pointing towards the door.
"Yes, sir!" Joseph replied, a smile on his face.
