Chapter 109 - Barold

Aaron had no idea that people other than the ones at the scene of the scuffle had seen what he had done. He thought everything was finally calm. He wanted to get a good look at the city as things were going on. Markets were open, people were happily doing business, just like what you'd expect in a large city. It was nice and peaceful. It reminded him of the brief time he had spent on Eratonia. The planet he went back to and destroyed, although he still didn't understand how that worked. It was a different instance of Eratonia, yet the people and events were the same. Mind-bending stuff.

This planet wasn't any form of Eratonia, so that was good for him. He didn't need more unnecessary confusion. He just wanted to enjoy his time here and take on the league, as Monument suggested. Aaron saw his vision suddenly get impeded more than it already was the helmet. Something was covering his face. He felt himself get pulled away. After about ten seconds, he spoke up.

"You know, I would have appreciated a warning before being dragged away. It isn't the most comfortable experience I've had." Aaron mentioned, grabbing the attention of the person pulling him away. "I thought I laced the bag with a sedative! How the hell are you awake?!" The man yelled, pulling the bag off of Aaron's face.

"There's a sedative in there? It must be weak, considering I'm not feeling any effect at all." Aaron responded with a cheery tone in his voice. He wasn't expecting to get kidnapped today, but he isn't being disturbed in any way, so he's alright with it. "How the hell? How are you immune to a strong sedative?" The kidnapper replied in shock, scared out of his mind about what would happen if he didn't bring Aaron back to The Boss.

"What can I say? I'm naturally immune to these things." Aaron stated, covering up the truth that he didn't have a brain with a lie of natural immunity. His eyes shone a dark blue as he stood up. "So, if you wouldn't mind me asking, what do you want me for?" Aaron asked the kidnapper, who was standing there in shock.

"Well, to put it bluntly, my boss wants to speak with you, and then he's going to bring you to his boss. I'm not allowed to say any more on the topic, I'm afraid. I wasn't even supposed to tell you that much to start." The kidnapper explained, a sullen tone. He's probably going to get yelled at by his boss for not bringing him in, in an intended way.

"Well then, lead me to him. I need to learn more about this city. It's best to get to know all the people I can so I can get more information." Aaron stated as he began walking forwards, leaving the kidnapper confused. "Come on! Show me to your boss. I want to see what kind of conversation I can have with him."

"You sound like a lunatic." The kidnapper admitted as he walked in front of Aaron, leading the way. "Well, I will admit I do have some insane ideas," Aaron responded as he followed the kidnapper. After a bit of back-and-forth talk, which involved both of them exchanging names, they arrived at the building where the kidnappers boss was.

For anyone interested, his name was Barold. Barold Jenkins, the descendant of a powerful summoner named Leeroy Jenkins, the perfecter of the Kamikaze Technique.

Aaron looked at the building he was standing before. It was a simple red brick building, almost like The Empire State Building, just smaller. A place for people to work. Knowing how things usually went, the person he eventually would finish talking to would be at the very top of this building. Aaron walked inside and looked around. It was almost like a hotel. It was decently furnished, but nothing too spectacular. There were no computers, just a pencil and some paper. It reminded him of an inn. It was a neat little reminder that not every place was advanced as Earth was. They were more entertaining, though.

Barold lead him towards a room, where a man stood facing away from the door, with a single light in the centre illuminating the whole room. "This is where I leave you. Enjoy yourself." Barold whispered, closing the door behind Aaron as he walked through. Barold took a breath of relief as he walked away from there. Even being around The Boss was scary. Talking to him was an entirely different ball game. He just prayed for Aaron's safety. Although, Barold couldn't shake the feeling that there was something inhuman about Aaron. He wasn't able to put his finger on what it was, though.

Aaron stood at the entrance to the room as the air around him became tense. The tenseness was almost palpable. The man finally turned around, and what he got was a shock. The man was still in his armour. "Did you come here in your armour?" The 'Boss' asked. "Yup. Barold is quite a good employee. Since the kidnapping failed, we had a fun little chat as we walked over here." Aaron responded as he began slowly walking towards The Boss. "So, you wanted to talk with me?"

"Yes. I'm only planning on asking the essential questions, like your age, name, and other questions like that." The boss replied. "Well then, we are done here. All you need to do is look at my ID. Check your pocket." Aaron smugly responded as he clicked his metal-coated fingers together. He made a clone of his ID and just transported it into his pocket.

"Well then, that's all I need to talk to you concerning yourself...Aaron Stone. We will now visit MY boss so that SHE can figure out how to handle this situation. She is at the top of this-" The Boss stated before being cut off by Aaron. "At the top of this building, I know. I could guess. I'll see you later." Aaron interrupted while snapping his fingers. He found it weird why everyone called their super-visors their bosses.

Aaron opened the door he teleported to and was met with a grandiose office with calming blue lights while a woman sat at a desk in the middle.

"Hello there, monster."
