Chapter 65 - Murder in the Halls

Aaron looked around the reception area, but was surprised to see nobody around. Well, they should have heard the gunshots by now, and either be scared, or be curious. It didn't matter, however. He was just wasting time. He wanted to see this new system, but of course, things take time. Imagine billions of lines of computer code. He had never done coding, but even thinking about the amount of code that would be in such a system function made his head spin. It's not like there would just be a code piece to say [Corrupt Being], and that's the entire thing done.

He had a coder friend back when he was on Earth, and he was showing Aaron a little project he was working on. It was a little 2d platformer, but Aaron was immediately lost. His friend has started talking about stuff like vectors and the x-y axis, which Aaron had forgotten about the second he stopped needing it. The system was probably doing something similar, he reckoned.

As a matter of fact, the system was creating code faster than we'd be able to see. Hundreds of lines of code were being typed out every single second, as it was incorporating both the original purpose, corrupting people, and a complex summoning mechanic, which allowed Aaron to have two ways of creating an army.

The system liked efficiency. If Aaron was to take over this world as a tyrant, or, more specifically, a demon lord, like he wanted, he needed a way to raise an army. People wouldn't be scared of one single person, unless they were strong enough. They WOULD be scared of thousands of monsters approaching them, unless they were known to be extremely weak.

Aaron continued his walk throughout the luxury apartments, encountering a few people along the way. Whenever he encountered people this time, however, he wouldn't fire the gun. He would lift up his hands, point his his fingers, and fire off a bullet of gravity through their skulls. This would cause them to, obviously, die instantly, but, he also didn't want to waste the blood they had in them, so he used his Boundless Telekinesis to do something cool. He got the blood to flow out of their dead bodies, and got it to form into a sphere, but it was still liquid. It was much easier to drink the blood than to turn it into a solid, after all. The sphere floated above his head, so that it wouldn't splash into anything.

He was honestly just bored. There wasn't much fun in killing people who just ran away in fear. He needed more excitement. Like he had when he killed Jacob earlier. He needed someone to hate him violently, so he could rip their hopes to shreds...a teenager would work well. Murder their parents, their friends, and give them a motive to start trying to kill him.

Two people came to his mind. Ray and Crystet. They were decent people, and, should their families be killed, would be sufficiently angry.

'I just need to wait. I could form friendships with them, and then snap those friendships in half! Betrayel on top of murder! I came here to disrupt the peace, after all. Why was I helping people out in the first place?! I need to divide, destroy, and decimate!' Aaron thought to

[Just heard your internal monologue there, Aaron. You have finally come to terms with why you are here. Good job! Now, I can finally access my full potential!]

{System has unlocked [True Potential] which will erase itself once removal from this world occurs.}

[Now, I'm going to go and finish making the army thing you wanted, so, I'll be back in a bit!]

'Wait, what does True Potential...do?' Aaron began to ask, but the system began to work on the corruption thing, so he didn't get an answer. It slightly saddened him, but then he remembered the thing it was working on, and perked up.

Aaron smiled beneath his mask, and began his walking again, but he didn't find any more people. Either they were all hiding from him, or this place was just empty. He look up above him, and decided to put that ball of blood to good use. He took off his mask, and forced the ball to shoot off little bursts of blood towards his mouth, so that he could catch them. After about five minutes, the sphere was non-existent, and Aaron was quite pleased with himself. He had killed about seven people, so that gave him a lot of blood.

{Level Points Gained: 378}

"So, drinking the blood of seven people wasn't enough to equal the blood of Jacob, huh? That's disappointing. But at least I get to upgrade my stats later. It'll be useful." Aaron spoke out loud, which would confuse and horrify anyone who heard, which was only one. A security camera. Nobody was watching the footage, but it WAS being recorded. All they needed to do was play the footage back later on, and they'd hear that statement.

'I learned something while on the last planet. Being extremely powerful can be fun, but there is a point where it just stops. I reached that on the last planet. Not even a being that was supposed to be many times stronger than a normal monster lost to me in the end, although I did die. Being so powerful lead me to become an immortal being, with no purpose. My level is unknown, and I can't even begin to fathom the sheer power the system holds. I'm going to use this power for whatever I want but first, there is a thing I must define for myself. When is being too powerful bad? Well, it's when there's nothing else to challenge you. To kept you on guard. I have to turn Ray and Crystet into fighters that will bring me exhilaration.' Aaron thought to himself, before the system notified him of something.

{Creation of System Add-on: Corruption Spread and Summoning tab has been created!}

'Although, I must say, this...does put a smile on my face.'
