*Thud* *Thud*
Sounded through the door. It was late at midnight when the family of the three woke by the noise.
It was dark all around, the sound of rain splashes through everywhere. Due to the rain, the electricity of the City was cut off.
*Thud*
"Who might be this late," Said the man, in the '40s. He was the only earner of this family, supporting his wife and their only daughter.
His name was 'Reez Mosce'.
"What happened dear, w-who would knock this late," Said his wife 'Riza'.
She was awakened by the first knock, but she didn't dare to open her eyes. Her mind was convincing her saying it was all a hoax, she should sleep calmly.
But the third one, with her husband questioning voice, gave her courage, as she stood from her bed somewhat trembling.
Many thoughts revolved through Reez brain. He started walking toward the shelf which holds an old shotgun. Taking the shotgun in his hand, he gestured toward his wife and said, "Take Ellie through the basement".
He started filling his shotgun with the shells that he took from the drawer near his bed.
Her wife just stood there dumbly, 'it was a very serious matter' her brain thought. She watched as her husband 'Reez' took out their emergency shotgun, watched as he gestured her to take Ellie their daughter toward the base room.
'WHAT ABOUT YOU!!!' She wanted to ask him. But seeing his grave expression, she couldn't help. She could only look at him with concern filling her eyes.
Reez replied as his gaze somewhat softened toward his wife, "Go away Riza hide in the basement with Emily"
Finishing it, his eyes were filled with firm determination as he walked out of the Bedroom.
He had seen it on the television. The daily murders happening across the city. It was so severe, that common people without any kind of protection can't sleep on their bed at night.
He walked calmly without any expression on his face. His heart was heavy, it couldn't conceal the wavering of his eyes.
Reez wanted to see his wife and daughter. But he didn't have any more courage to muster to turn around to look at his wife.
He did stop at the entrance as he said in a deep voice, "If I don't come back, take care of Ellie"
"Say her Father was brave"
"I love both of you guys" He laughed in a soft voice as he walked away.
Hearing the farewell, Riza eyes went red. Her lips quivered, she wanted to say something to him.
'Don't Go'; 'Let's run together'; 'We love you too'. She wanted to convince him and herself that there might be another way, we should take it.
Watching Reez go, she wanted to follow him. But intuition told her to take Ellie toward the basement.
The house was not so big, it only had one floor. Ellie was sleeping peacefully in her room. It took only a half-minute as Riza reached for her daughter.
She watched her daughter's face, she wanted to assure herself that all this was a part of a nightmare. Reaching near Ellie's bed she tried to pinch herself several times.
"It can't be happening, right" Her eyes were red, try as much she could, she couldn't open her eyes saying 'It was all a dream'.
Every citizen in the city wanted to tell themself that this was all a nightmare.
'The Unknown' randomly happened every day. The murder reports that news announced to them, the people wanted it all to be false, they wanted to continue with their peaceful life.
'No, it's not time to dwell on me' Riza thought as she woke up from her stupor, waking Ellie up.
"Mom, I want to sleep some more," Ellie said in a mumble. She didn't know anything at all that was happening around her.
Her mother jerked her body, waking her. She was now fully awake. Ellie wanted to complain to her mother but watching her mom's red eyes she couldn't contain herself and said "What happened!"
"Ellie let's go," Riza said as she took the hand of her child.
Ellie was a child in her teenage, she knew about the murders surrounding her city. So she couldn't help but panic when she didn't saw her dad.
"Where is he, w~where is d--dad"
Ellie was stuttering as she asked about her dad, but Riza didn't give her an answer as she grabbed her hand walking toward the basement.
"Your dad, he will come"

Reez was on the ground floor as he took all the commodities available in the home, blocking toward the door.
Sofa, almirah and Refrigerator had locked the entrance.
*Thud* *Thud* *Thud*
The sound of thud was getting erratic on the door.
Reez wiped his sweat off his forehead, his heart drummed every time the thud sounded through the door.
'Any moment' he thought, at any second he could break the door entering the house. The blockades were there, but would it help him.
It was a big question.
*Creak*
The door hinges broke off from the wall.
Reez held the shotgun aiming toward the door. His condition was not so good, his legs were trembling as he gulped a mouthful of saliva.
He was scared shitless, but he couldn't show it to his family. He was the moral support for them.
*Crash*
The door crashed showing a figure as it stood in the rain. The raindrops splattered across the front wetting the sofa and the tables.
"Scrrrchh" the figure roared in an inhuman voice as it dashed forward.
*Thak*
Resounded across the hall, Reez had fired his shotgun. The bullet travelled hitting the inhuman figure on his chest.
A hole was there. The inhuman figure grunted, showing it was painful, but didn't stop.
He slashed across the sofa with his bare hands. Cutting it into pieces.
"Wh~at o..n earth!!!" Reez voice quivered seeing the slash but didn't hesitate to shoot his shotgun again.
*Thak*
He reloaded the barrels of the shotgun, replacing it with two new shells.
The figure jumped forward with dark blood oozing from the wounds.
"Grezzzzek" the inhuman figure slashed with his hands.
Reez was going to shoot again when he had to dodge to the side seeing the slash.
His heart was thwarting as he said in a grim voice "He seems to be angry"
Taking a stable position he fired again and again. Two shots resounded at the same time.
One of the shot had penetrated the monster's right arm while the other missed. The right arm was dangling as he sped forward in an inhuman manner.
"What!!!" Reez eyes widened. The inhuman figure was in front of him. Light flashed on the person as Reez saw it.
A dark figure 2m tall, his whole body was dark. Saliva dripped from his mouth, his hands were like a claw, very sharp.
It slashed again across Reez's body.
Reez could only block with the shotgun in his front. It couldn't block the claw, getting cut in half.
The strike didn't finish as it lashed across his body.
"Ahhhhhhhz" an Inhuman roar verberated from Reez mouth, looming across the whole house, including the basement.
*Jez Jez*
The inhuman dark creature delighted by the scream chuckled.

Riza and Ellie were in the basement as the sound of fighting reverberated across their ears.
They were holding each other tightly, the sound of shots from the shotgun and slashing reached their ears.
They couldn't help but silently pray for their dad and husband. 'Be safe, be safe' she chanted in her mind when Reez inhuman scream sounded.
Their heart stopped for a moment, it was too quiet.
Finally, Riza made up her mind as she stood up walking toward the opening.
"Ellie, whatever happens, don't come out," She said in a grave and stern voice.
Ellie wanted to say something when she was stopped by her mom's voice, "Please, don't come out" in a sobbing tone she grabbed for her daughter's head, in an assuring manner.
Ellie's tear flowed as she saw her mom going out.
"We love you Ellie" Riza said without turning back.
Time passed, passed as she sat in a deafening silence.
Voice of fighting sounded across her ears, followed by the scream of her mother.
She cried silently. It was the darkness that comforted her.
Gathering her courage, she came out from the basement, passing through the storeroom she didn't make any noise.
She walked through the hall when she felt a presence behind her.
Turning around she found a figure as it stood silently in a far corner. Following a roar, it dashed toward her.
Ellie wanted to run when she realised she was on the dead end.
She closed her eyes waiting for judgement. It never came. Only an affectionate voice resounded in her ears, "We love you, Ellie"
"Dad," she said in a delight opening her eyes, a face greeted her, he had a smile on his face.
He was standing 5m from her, a claw had pierced through his chest, he had grievous wounds all over his body.
But he stood there blocking the inhuman figure, with only a loving smile on his face.
"D-dad!!!" Panic spread across her eyes.
She wanted to reach him. "Don't come Ellie", he said in a serene tone. A lighter lit up from his left hand reaching his right one.
A Molotov cocktail was in his hand. It lit up.
"Goodbye Ellie"
"Dad can't accompany you anymore" saying it in a tired voice, he dashed.
The inhuman creature wound's had made him weak.
*Ahh*
Gathering every ounce of energy his body could gather, he pushed the figure whose claw was sticking in Reez's chest.
Fire lit up.
*Swoosh* *Swoosh*
Ellie could only lay on the floor, her legs couldn't support her
The fire raged upon the figure and Reez, who was entangled in fighting.
Ellie watched as the fire spread through the house.

*Humm*
A female was driving the car upon the roads as she hummed her favourite tune.
She was in a joyful mood. She had a good day at work when she noticed...
Smokes filling the skies, on a rainy night.
Turning the steering wheel, she walked toward the smoke.
The Female muttered in an annoyed tone.
"Uh!, more duty"
