Kagutsuchi looked down at the world below him. He was on top, and the world was far beneath him. This gave him a sense of absolute power. It tricked his mind into believing that he was above this world, that the rules didn't apply to him, but he was wrong. Just as his mind had been tricked back then when he believed that Ren Geis had cared for him as a father should. The fact that he was wrong shaped his entire life. His emotions fell behind him as he rose out of this world.
Emotions are human, after all.
The nearly invisible door in Kagutsuchi's room that transcended his view creaked open. Kagutsuchi turned to face this unknown noise. His view broke him out of his fantasies and plunged him deep back into reality. His view threw the course of his life and the world off-balance. His view contained Ren Geis.
Ryujin's eardrums burst open and were filled with a ringing sound. It was as if his ears had but chopped off his head. He fell to the floor, unable to handle the pain. He was facing the castle. And when his eyes landed upon the window of the Demon King's room, he thought his eyes had been reconfigured to see something that wasn't reality. The King was fighting someone, but he wasn't winning.
That's impossible, Ryujin thought. The King can't lose. I'm dreaming, aren't I?
No words, no explanations, and no introductions were needed between the two. They knew each other too well. The fight began as soon as they saw each other. They both had no weapon to their name, so the fistfight commenced. Even Ren Geis's physical prowess far exceeded that of Kagutsuchi's. The fight was over with one punch.
[A short chapter today, I'm simply too tired. My Scottish cousin's been eating up my time a lot though, so when she goes tomorrow, I'll be able to get back on track.]
