Theo starts to walk towards the Toy's Corner Store. The screams were like drums to his ears. As Theo starts to get closer to the Corner Store, he takes a look through an alleyway and saw a girl getting rob.
"STOP IT!", She screams, meanwhile the robber was huge like Andre the giant anyway he had this lumberjack beard and had on a grey jumpsuit. He started to raise his hand and said, "SHUT UP!", as the Robber tries to slap her Theo started to use his superspeed and ran to the huge robber and grabs him by his right hand and pushes him away from the girl. The huge man looks at Theo and said,
"You are a Deadman!" as he pulls out a pocket knife and lunged it at Theo and then everything went into slow mode. For a minute Theo looked at the huge man and grabs his knife and punches him in the face so hard that he flew up in the air and slam on the ground. Theo walks up to the huge man and said,
"LEAVE THAT LADY ALONE AND GET YOUR FUNKY BUTT OUT OF HERE!" Theo turns to the good-looking redhead woman and said,
"Are you okay?", while helping her up she said,
"Thanks, my name is Ruth Parker, and yours?" Theo walks up to Ruth and said,
"Theo Hicks." While he is giving her a handshake and walking her out of the alleyway.
"What were you doing walking in the alleyways alone?", Theo asked as he was looking interested. Ruth looked back at Theo and said,
"I was on my way to school, but I had to go to the store to get some snacks." While Theo and Ruth started to walk to the nearest pizza shop. Theo stop and said,
"Are you hungry?" Ruth looked at Theo and said,
"Sure." As the two were walking inside the pizza shop. The waiter walks up to them and said,
"Welcome to Jerry Pizza, what can I get you guys." Theo fix his glasses to look at the waiter and said,
"We would like a large pizza with some pineapple toppings and two Dr. Peppers."
"Coming up", said the waiter as he turns to fix the food. Ruth started to play with her short red hair and was staring at Theo and said,
"Why did you help me?" Theo turns to Ruth and looked directly into her eyes and said,
"I want to help someone for a change." Ruth started to stare at him for a minute.
"Here you go guys, here's your pizza and two Dr. Peppers enjoy", said the waiter as he was putting the food down on the table and suddenly Theo felt this painful bang inside of his head and started to see his grandma in trouble.
"Theo, Theo!", Ruth scream. Theo was in pain but five seconds later it was over Theo grab the counter to keep his balance and started to grab his soda and took a sip of his drink, Ruth tap him and said,
"Are you okay, I thought you were having a heart attack." Theo started to laugh and said,
"I don't know what that was, that has never happened to me before."
Ruth started to eat her slice of pizza and said, "What's your story Theo, do you have any family?" Theo turn to her and said,
"Well, my parents died in a car crash 3 years ago." Ruth started to rub Theo's hand softly and said,
"I'm so sorry."
"It's okay but I live with my Grandma and little brother," Theo said as he was eating his pizza Ruth looked at Theo and hugged him, and said,
"Thanks for saving my life, Theo Hicks." Five minutes later she was heading towards the door, Theo started to walk up to her and said,
"Stay safe and if you need anything my house is down the street at the Jerry land apartments, just ask for me."
"Why are you doing this for me?" Ruth asks as she started to hug him again.
"I just want to help," Theo says Ruth kissed Theo on the cheek and said,
"Goodbye Theo see you around." She was gone. The rest of the day Theo could not stop thinking about the night Tommy killed him and the man with the top hat who brought him back to life. Theo grabs a toothpick and went home. Theo walk inside his house saw his Grandma watching Let's Make a Deal, Jack was playing a game on his Xbox 360 in his room. Theo walked inside of the living room fixing his mini afro and took a toothpick out of his mouth. Jack walked inside the living room and started to look at Theo and said,
"Hey, big bro where have you been?", Theo looks at Jack like he was going to smack some sense into him.
"Nowhere but the pizza place down in Davis street happy now Jackie boo!" says Theo as he started to stand up and grab his leather jacket and Grandma Lois looked at Jack and said,
"What did you do now?"
"Nothing Mama!" Jack said as he was rubbing his hair.
"Theo where are you going?", said Grandma Lois while getting up from the couch and started to walk towards the door. Theo looked at her and said,
"I'm going out." As he walks out of the house. Theo started to walk down the streets of Jerry's land, the streets were trashy, the cleanest place in the town was the diner. Theo started to walk farther down the street and the man with the top hat showed up again and had on a black suit and a black top hat and a piece of brown hair was showing.
"YOU!", Theo shouts at the man with the top hat. The man with the top hat walk up to Theo slowly
"Look Theo I'm not your enemy, see there is evil spreading all over the city and it's all up to you to stop it." said the man with the top hat. Theo started to run towards the man with the top hat using superspeed and grabs him by his neck and starts punching him in the face.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!" Theo screams as he is looking into the man with the top hat brown eyes. Theo starts to let the man with the top hat go
"What do you want from me?"
"I want to help you control your anger, and help you stop this evil that is coming to this city, you were chosen to become a warrior of the shadows.", Said The man with the top hat as he started to stand up. Another painful vision started to rush inside of Theo's head and he starts to see a very tall building collapsing and a man screaming for help and then the vision was gone. Theo started to look up at the man with the top hat and said,
"Was that?"
"That is a vision Theo which is an amazing gift for a shadow lander." said the man with the top hat as he finishes Theo's sentence. The man with the top hat started to reach inside of his jacket pocket and pull out a water bottle and gave it to Theo.
"You will need to meet me at the diner tomorrow morning and we will start training." Said the man with the top hat as they started to walk down the street Theo took off his glasses and looked at the man with the top hat and said.
"What is your name anyway since we are doing this training thing to save the world." The man with the top hat look at Theo and said,
"You are right if we are doing this training to save the world we need to be honest with each other, my name is Jax." As they were heading towards Theo's house Theo turn to Jax and asks,
"Can you do the eye color thing?" Jax nods and his brown eyes started to change to this blood-red color and Theo looked confused
"How come your eyes are red and mine are yellow?" Theo asks Jax took off his top hat and said,
"I'm an Alpha and you are a Beta Theo." Theo looked at Jax and then look at his black watch
"I got to go see you in the morning," Theo said as he was heading inside.
"Where have you been?" Grandma Lois shout as she was walking towards Theo.
"I was walking around mama and I'm sorry about running out like that and it won't happen again," Theo said as he was walking closer to Grandma Lois and hugged her. Grandma Lois started to take off the cap that was on her head and her long brown hair fell on her back.
"Theo is there anything you would like to tell me?" said Grandma Lois as she was staring at him.
"There is nothing to talk about mama." Said Theo as he started to smile and walk straight to his room and started to build a special type of sunglasses for himself and went to bed.
Next Morning
Jack walks up towards Theo's room door and started to bang on the door and shouts,
"WAKE UP YOU FOUR EYED GOOSE!" Theo was already awake Theo started to play with his hamster Rex. Theo started to hear Jack's thoughts again but this time Jack was thinking about their parents and Theo. Theo open his door and Jack stare at him and said,
"About time." Theo look back at Jack and said,
"Are you okay J?"
"What did mama say, stop calling me "J".
Jack started to look even angrier than he was. Theo walk out of his room and grab his leather jacket and glasses and dig inside his jean pocket and pull out a $50-dollar bill and gave it to Jack and said,
"Here take it it's for you and mama and I will be back in an hour." Theo walked out of the apartment and Jax was sitting on a black 1972 mustang and took off his top hat and said,
"Are you ready for this?" Theo took off his glasses and said,
"Let's do this." Theo went inside of the mustang and Jax puts his top hat back on and started the car up and drove through the dirty streets of Jerry's land. They started to head towards a big storage building and they started to stop the car and got out of the car and started to head inside the storage building Jax started to fix his top hat and Theo started to fix his jacket. The storage house was huge. Jax started to toss his top hat at Theo. Theo looked at the top hat slowly heading towards his direction. Theo started to look at Jax and grab his top hat and ran towards Jax. 10 seconds later Jax grabs Theo by his left hand and tosses him up in the air and while Theo was in the air he pulls out his claws and sinks them inside of the nearest wall and started to slide down the wall.
"JAX!" Theo screams with anger in his voice. Jax starts to laugh while standing in the fighting position and says,
"Come on that's all you got?" Theo started to roar and runs up to Jax and throws a punch at him. Jax looks at Theo's fist passing his face and uppercuts Theo in the stomach and when Jax threw a punch at Theo everything went into a slow mode for Theo. Theo started to grab Jax's hand and started punching him in the face and the stomach and toss him up into the air and Theo started to jump into the air and punch Jax into the ground. Jax started to stand up and roar at Theo as his eyes were glowing red, Theo landed on the ground a few feet away from Jax. Theo started to roar as he lunges at Jax but Jax started punching Theo in the stomach then putting him into a headlock and said, "Calm down you are strong but if you want to become a Shadow lander you need to control yourself!" Theo started to move a desk using his telekinesis and threw it at Jax and himself. Theo started to hear Jax's heartbeat and Jax hop up off the ground and leap up into the roof and grab his top hat and teleported where Theo was. Jax walked up to Theo and said,
"Theo, no Shadow lander in centuries had the powers of telepathy and telekinesis, the super speed you are different somehow you reek for revenge and the more you reek the weaker you will get, and the evil is going to keep spreading all over this city and it will kill billions of people." Theo walk up to Jax and said,
"You think I don't know that you curse me with this power and now you want me to help you protect this city, from evil what evil!"
"Training is over for today, come back tomorrow control your anger calm yourself down, besides you are a speedster run." Said Jax as he started to grin. Theo looked at Jax and says,
"Yeah, I'm getting used to this speed and I will see you, tomorrow boss." Theo started to run in seconds to his grandma's house. Theo started to have another vision, but this time Frankie was it and a huge black monster was there. It was trying to attack Frankie and boom the vision was gone, Theo started to take out his phone and started to call Frankie, but the call went to voice mail,
"Hey Frank, if you get this message call me please," Theo said as he started to look worried. Theo walks up to Jack's room and peek his head inside the door and said,
"Here's 10 bucks tell mama I'm coming back at 10:00 okay, love you, bro."
"Theo, what are you talking about?" Jack asks while looking confused. Theo ran out of the apartment in a blink of an eye Theo started to run towards Frankie's house and stop to hear if anyone was home and Theo started to hear two heartbeats one was Frankie's and the other one was someone else. Theo busts the door open with one punch and saw Tommy turning into the black monster he saw in his vision.
"THEO RUN GET OUT OF HERE!" Frankie scream, Tommy started to turn at Theo and said,
"You supposed to be dead."
"Yeah you too," Theo said as he was changing into his werewolf form. Theo started to roar at Tommy and lunge at him with a superkick and turns to Frankie and shouts,
"NOW YOU RUN!" Tommy sunk his claws inside of Theo's back and threw him up in the air. Theo started stabbing Tommy in the gut with his claws and started to roar. Suddenly Tommy turns back to his human form and started to run away from the house. Theo started to look at Frankie
"Theo?" Frankie asks as he slowly walks up to him. Theo started to change back to his human form and said,
"I know what this looks like."
"Oh, I know, I just saw my best friend bust down my door and turn into a werewolf and started to fight whatever Tommy was, you need to tell me something!" Frankie said as he started to laugh nervously. Theo walks to Frankie and said, "I tell you everything you need you to know."
