Wadetre felt a hand on her shoulder. She did not need to look up to see whose it is. Adelo's large and ruff hands are unmistakable.
She grew a weak smile, but her tears continued to stream down her face, and sobs continued to flow from her lips. She kept her face in her arms, and did not move from her position on the ground.
Adelo began to slowly caress Wadetre's back. Wadetre does not want it to stop, ever. She liked th gentle movements, and Adelo's touch.
Adelo's hands left, and Wadetre wanted to ask him to continue. But her throat had become swollen.
Wadetre no longer sobbed and her tears were not as heavy. Her smile had gotten some strength now.
'I am not alone.'
Wadetre felt Adelo's hands once more, but not as before. They reached under her and scooped her up, turning her body as well so she was looking upwards.
Wadetre wrapped her arms around Adelo as to not fall. Her head rested on his shoulder, her eyes closed.
Adelo just stood there with Wadetre in his arms, shifting uncomfortably due to his injury. But he did his best to keep Wadetre steady.
Slowly Adelo began to walk back the way he came.
"I love you," Wadetre let slip shamelessly.
Adelo smiled. He bent his head and gave her a kiss on the forhead, taking in her scent
"I love you too."
Wadetre felt at ease. She felt safe, something that she had not felt all day.
