I looked at the blue window that just popped up before my eyes, "What...?"

I was an ordinary college student who was also an illustrator and writer. Originally, I just a writer back then but I never knew I would also became a little illustrator just like 'him'. My life was very ordinary, especially for a loner like me which clearly didn't stand out so much.
To be honest, my life has no too much meaning in it. I just walked to the path I was lead to, I never really had a precise goal unlike people around me. My only focus was about surviving life and finishing the fictional story I made. Something that kept me feel alive and safe for the past six years.
But I never knew... I'd actually fall into this unfinished fictional story.
That time was fairly calm in my afternoon class around early winter, before everything turned upside down in just the next few hours.

I looked at the window while squinting my eyes, I doubt my eyes for a moment and wishing this is nothing but just a mere weird dream alas everything that happening were real.
I sighed and the window suddenly showed a new notification.

Though I hesitate for a moment, I decide to spoke "..Kaz Verlice."
My name is Kaz Verlice. People called me Kaz and like I said before, I just an ordinary college student to begin with, but maybe after this, my life would no longer what so called 'Ordinary'.
Along with the 'bing–!' noise, another notification popped up followed by another.

Suddenly a painful headache strike my head, my head immediately dropped to the table in front of me as I struggle to bear the pain.
Unfortunately, the pain was too much for me to bear, thus, I collapsed in a minute and by the time I woke up, I was laying my head on a table inside an unfamiliar room full of book shelves.
I jumped out of the seat and looked through one large mirror. Well, nothing had change for my appearance actually. My face was still the same but the problem was I needed time to process of what had just happened...
It was just unbelievable. It felt like I was in that kind of fantasy novel MC where they fall into the novel they read and living the rest of their life in that novel.
"Where the hell am I..." I tried to look into some books that was neatly arranged on the book shelf but sadly, it didn't help me at all. "Seriously what kind of absurd event is this.." not long later, another window notification popped up.

My eyes widened for a moment, of course I immediately knew what 'World Game Invasion : Grey Fate' was, especially how I was actually the one who create it. It was a fictional story about certain protagonist who tried his best living in the world colonized by a strong A.I system. The protagonist going into different quest to reach the system core and end the whole chaos.
I still doubted the fact that I was actually inside that story. Everything that happened just now seemed very absurd as if I still dreaming at the moment. Though, I tried pinching myself as attempt to return to reality, but damn it, there was no use. It's still hurt though...
"Then..."
I looked at the window and spoke "Open Esper Info." The window immediately showed me my own Esper information.

I stare quietly at the window information for a while. Well, that was unexpected. I came here so suddenly and already having these much skills. Even though the level were unsurprisingly low, it was still quite weird that I already have this bunch of skills. The most interesting one was my personal abilities, I wonder how it would work since the system didn't allow player to see abilities info which was quite disappointing.
As I looked outside, I noticed how the clouds had turn darker and I knew the chaos will begin in an hour or even less. I rushed outside, and decided to practice my control over my weapon cause I knew doing it was a bit tricky.
As ran outside the building that seemed to be a public library in New York city, I stretched my arm in front of me and focused my mind. Asking it to think about one thing—a very large sword.
The next seconds, some blue glitches sparked in my palm revealing a cold metal grip. The glitches didn't stop and kept sparking steadily until a certain weapon finally showed its final shape.
I was amazed for moment, looking at the greatsword design, which I actually fell in love with at first sight.
I confidently grabbed the hold of the greatsword and just as soon as I grabbed it, my body came to a sudden stop. Thank god that I slowed my pace a little so I didn't fall kissing the ground.
「"It's so heavy!!"」
This time, I tried to pick it up using both of my hands, and what?! I barely bring it up to my chest high. It's been a while since I felt both embarrassed and upset in the same time... I suddenly regret that I didn't do a proper exercise.
「"This damned system literally making fun of me... it gave me this, out of 6 weapons available."」
I decided to just kept my greatsword, also known as this Infinite Sky, for the time being. Sending it back to glitches, and instead, picked up a dagger in front of dark alley... Did a robbery about to happen here before this catastrophe appeared??
Shaking my head, I once again focused my mind to how this game system worked.
Remembering how the story start, I can't fight this crazy game on my own, even if i was the story creator plus recalling my current state, I was no more than a newbie. I needed to search this world's protagonist, the most important person right now...

Ace, This story protagonist, he had a very intriguing personality and he is very, very straightforward. He may had extrovert personality, but at some point he sometimes shows more quiet side of him.
Confused? same.
But to be honest, he was very smart and quick-witted. When the whole chaos just started, he quickly understand the system and became the strongest Esper. But his weakness were actually how he always ready to sacrifice himself for certain people, which was why he had those time where he almost die.
As for his background, it was quite melancholic. If I remember correctly he was an orphan. His mother abandoned him in front of an orphanage when he was only around 3 months old. He may had good realationship with other orphans, but some of them were still afraid of him. Especially how he had this intimidating gaze.
It was just sad, how the rest of the orphans loved to call him either "The lost devil" or "Witch son", not to mention he would also receive some humiliation from those who hates him. But fortunately, at the age 19 he left that orphanage to live independently and became a freelance programmer... I felt a bit guilty giving him such a backstory.
...Now, I quietly stare at the sky and tried to think on how I should meet this protagonist. Seriously why don't he just instantly showed up in front of me like those fantasy novel—where the Mc fall into the novel and immediately meet the Male lead.
"Come on Kaz think..." I tried to think of places where he probably showed up, but I quickly snap back as I feel a heavy presence behind me.
I quickly look behind and saw a huge two monster. "Ah shoot.."

If common grade monster already this 5 meters big, I didn't really dare imagining the SSS-grade monster. Did I really create the monsters this terrifying?
I quickly took my dagger and prepared myself for the attack. Aside from their huge body, it was really unexpected how they were a common grade one. Calming my self down, It shouldn't be too hard I guess.
I sprint at them and rise my dagger, it maybe dangerous of how I approach them this way, most C-class Esper would've just run away.
I aim my dagger to one of them, though my jump wasn't that high, it's enough for my dagger to cut its body. Good thing its skin wasn't that hard, so my attack left a deep wound. As the monster scream in pain it immediately throw me to the ground.
"Ack–!" I quickly stand up, but how unfortunate, the dagger slipped from my grip when I fall. But now that I think about it, I actually had some skills so why didn't I use it earlier.
I decided to try on 'Abyss' one, let's see how it works..

"Urk–!" Suddenly, I felt like I want to vomit, there were a lot of pain as I activated the skill and I can't breath properly. I fell on my knees as I tried my best–gasping for air. Just a bit more strength then I can—!
"You don't have enough strength level for that, you could die because of it you know."
My eyes widened, as a pair of hand reaching out to my arm and pulled me to their side. I could see his figure and I was greatly familiar with it. How surprising, he showed up earlier than I thought.
I closed my eyes and spoke "You finally showed up huh?, dear savior."
