Chereads / The psychopath named Dan / Chapter 77 - Death of a brother!

Chapter 77 - Death of a brother!

While on his way to the Captains office Haider was wondering what the captain wanted. Did he do something wrong? Besides the humans he killed which the captain said he would cover up for him he couldn't think of anything.

Wait!

Was the captain unable to cover it up and was now throwing him to the wolfs? What was he even expecting from him? It was dumb of him to think he could get some help from an elf who was in a position of power. Of course it must have been a prank. He would tell everyone how he pranked a red haired elf into thinking that he was helping. Maybe he just wanted to see the face of despair Haider was going to make.

As Haider's mind thought of reasons to why he was being called by the captain he readied his heart for the moment he would be let down. If he was going down then he would not let that fat old bastard have the last laugh by giving him what he wanted. He had no intention of showing his face of despair to him.

Haider knocked on the door and entered after hearing the captain's voice. He walked in to see the captain pour gravy onto a plate filled with pork sausages. Approximately over 30 sausages. There was also a flask filled with tea.

"Sit down Haider." the captain said as he pointed to the chair in front of him. Haider sat down

"Do you want something to eat?" he asked. Haider shook his head.

The captain sat up straight and placed his hands on the table. "Haider, I have some terrible news for you."

'Here it comes.' Haider thought.

"I need you brace yourself for this news as it will crush you greatly."

"I'm ready sir."

"Good... Haider... Your brother is dead."

"..."

"....."

"What?" Haider asked. He was really confused.

"We have no idea how your brother died, he was found amidst 78 corpses. We have no idea how he has died."

"Please sir, I know I am a red hair elf but I would immensely appreciate if you did not play these games with me." Haider said.

"It's not a game Haider, there is a red haired elf amongst the dead. You and your family are the only red haired elfs in this entire country. I want you to go check and confirm the body."

Haider's heart sank to the bottom. He was not expecting anything like this. He thought he was going to be let down by the captain and fired. He could not describe what this feeling was. Despair was already starting to fill him as it wrapped its hand around him giving him a kiss. "We shall be together for quite a while." it said.

"No... That is... that is not possible..." Haider said as his voice cracked slightly. Haider rushed out of the office, ran down the stairs and out of the building.

He ran and ran and ran heading towards the mortuary. On his way he passed by Winfrey, Sind, Lin and Horatio who were heading back. Lin tried stopping him to speak to him but he just ran past her. His throat was dry and his movements were heavy.

It was like the world was slowing down. 'No this... this is... this is not possible!' He told himself over and over again. 'It's probably not even him, maybe there was someone wearing a wig.'

Haider reached the mortuary and burst through the door. He quickly ran to the reception and asked the man where the dead bodies were. He was escorted to where the bodies were. He stood behind a glass panel as the man inside removed the blanket of the corpse.

What Haider felt was unexplainable and indescribable. There on the metal slab was his brother. His eyes wide open and face filled with shock as if he had been scared to death.

Somewhere a few hundred kilometres away from the elven Kingdom. A man wearing a heavy armour sat in a carriage. He had the most bland face a person could possibly imagine and black hair. He had slightly toned muscles that could be seen through the hole in his armour.

His giant sword was laying in front of him resting on a chair. It had a weird design. The cross gaurd was wide and shaped in the form of a star.

He sat next to a small girl who was asleep and three more woman were in the opposing chair. They were also asleep except for one. She was a blonde haired elf with an eye patch on her face and a green spandex.

"You didn't have to come with me all the way to my home," she said. "I could have managed myself."

The man spoke and just like his face it was bland. Everything about this man screamed default settings.

"I have to come with you, you are my friend and my companion. It is only right that I help you go home... but..."

The woman stared at him waiting for him to say what he was about to say. "But what?"

"Are you sure? It's only been 2 years since you joined us, I understand you need a break but we have to defeat the demon king, we don't have time to go on holidays and stuff."

"Unlike you I do not have a strong mind that can keep on going without a hitch or breaking despite fighting monsters every day."

"Ok... I'm sorry, but before you leave..." The man's voice turned serious all of a sudden. "Can you leave me something to remember you by?"

"It's only a one month holiday not a final goodbye."

"But still, I shall miss you."

The woman blushed as she had not been expecting this. She then twiddled with her fingers before speaking in a soft voice.

"Then what is it that you want?"

The man took a deep breath in with his shoulders held high and chest out, he spoke in the most serious voice a person could possibly speak in.

"I am the hero of Blink, I need something important to you that I shall cherish, therefore... Your pants!"

"...."

"You pervert!"
