The sound of grasshoppers and cicadas chirping filled the night air. Frogs croaked and owls hooted. It was a quiet full moon night.
"I missed this," Martha said. She was in her bed, her head resting on Klirans chest. "This atmosphere, it's so peaceful and quiet."
"It's a shame, it will be destroyed in a few hours time." Kliran said as he stroked her black hair. "Dan is growing up, he is becoming more and more troublesome." Kliran looked outside through the open window.
A cool cold breeze swept in to the room. It was a serene night. Martha looked up at Kliran to see him staring out of the window.
"What is it?" she asked, "What are you so worried about?"
"Dan, I'm worried about him."
Martha dragged her finger down his chest before kissing his nipples. "So am I." she said.
Kliran continued speaking. "Fria is different, she is an orc, even if she lacks strength she can still find some kind of job or get a husband and then have a family, but Dan on the other hand..."
Kliran sighed heavily. "He is a human, in everyone's eyes he is an outsider, he does not have the strength that our kind does and he hasn't ever met his kind either. I'm worried about his future. Tell me Martha, give me your wisdom, what do you think I should do to grant him a future?"
Martha closed her eyes and stayed silent for a while before answering.
"No one person's future is guaranteed, anything can happen, but we can guarantee Dan's future, how about you ask Kingsley to give him a position in his castle. Dan's our son and Kingsley is your friend, I'm sure he will look out for him even in the castle."
Kliran grunted in understanding. They both stayed like that until they fell asleep in each other's embrace.

Three days later...
A procession of men riding horses followed by a significantly large carriage destroyed the peaceful atmosphere of the village.
The carriage had a symbol on both sides of it. The symbol was shield with wings on both sides. One wing was on fire while the other was covered in blood.
Beneath it was a banner that read 'El heim reter ilk harfio esmiliok'. It was the demon language and it loosely translated to 'to protect and conquer.'
The four horsemen riding in front wore heavy armour covering every part of their body. Even their horns and tails were covered in some kind of leather armour. The people watched the carriage as it made it's way to a house.
"Did they come for Kliran?"
"Isn't that the symbol of the house of Noork?"
"No you idiot, that's the royal families symbol!"
"Did something happen?"
"I heard that the general commander of the Azarian army lived in this village."
"Did you just find that out? How did you live in this village and not know?"
"Well, I didn't expect the man with the highest authority in the entire country after the royal family lives in a house like that!"
"Why does he live in a place like that?"
"I heard it was because of his son, he's human you know, he doesn't want those nobles anywhere near him!"
"No, it's probably because he doesn't want his children to become soft and become spoilt little brats."
The horsemen got of the horses and stood on both sides of the carriage, four on each side. One of the horsemen knocked on the door of the carriage before saying, "We have arrived, your majesty."
The door to the carriage opened and out stepped a man. The man was averagely tall to the point where it did not feel like you were looking down on him. He had crimson red skin and on his left cheek was a scar. He had long horns that went backwards like dreads. Pearl white teeth, red eyes and soft hair.
His jawline was like that of normal person. It was not to sharp nor strong. The man also had a goatee. He was wearing some kind of royal garments for rich people.
As soon as he stepped down the stairs Kliran came out of the house. He walked over to the man not even being bothered by the gaurds.
"What are you doing here Kingsley?"
The man smiled charmingly. Had it been a normal female then they would have been charmed but not Kliran. "I'm here to see the kid." he said. Even his voice was silky and smooth. It was like a voice that came straight from a dream.
The way the man carried himself was like that of royalty. Arrogant and prideful with shoulders held high. "I told you I would bring Dan over to the castle. I almost wonder whether you like this kind of attention. Anyways you are drawing way to much attention, come inside."
Kingsley nodded. He turned towards the open carriage door and beckoned for someone. "Come out Pedro." he said.
A child came forth from the carriage. He looked almost like his father. Even his gait and clothes. The only difference was the staff made of gold that he was carrying around like a Pope.
Pedro looked at Kliran's house before making a disgusted face. "You want me to enter such a place, how disgusting."
Kliran chuckled not paying any mind to what the child just said. "He's exactly like you." he commented.
"I feel like you said that as an insult but I'll take it as a compliment. You should know the fact that I do not like uncleanliness and poor hygiene."
Kliran shook his head and did not bother to argue, "So are you going to wait in the carriage?"
"I most definitely shall, call for the boy."
"Suit yourself, but you are going to have to wait for a while, Dan's not here at the moment." Kliran saw Fria who was about to go inside the house.
"Fria, where is your brother?"
"I don't know!"
"Go find him and bring him, with utmost urgency."

Somewhere else in the forest.
A barefooted human kid with dark black hair stood with a giant. This giant was only 9 years old but he was 6 foot. There was also another kid. He seemed human except for the fact that he had thick green scales.
Behind them were 5 other goblins. They stood in front of several other kids. They were goblins, orcs and even trolls.
"You have broken the pact Likon, you have invaded on our turf so prepare for war, once we win, we shall expand and take all of your lands for ourselves." Dan said.
"Shut up Dante, I know you wanted this war, it was inevitable, I just hastened it." Likon said. Likon was a troll. Bright white skin like an albino with coarse rough skin. Trolls were practically albino goblins, except bigger and less good looking.
"The only thing that you have hastened is your doom." Dan replied.
"We have a growing population we need your lands Dante! It's nothing personal, we got to do what we got to do what we got to do to survive."
"You need land? And you think we don't? Enough chit chat bring forth your first champion for a duel."
A goblin stepped forth carrying a wooden sword from Likon's side. From Dan's side stepped forth the giant. It was Muk.
The duel between the two started with the goblin attack with his wooden sword and Muk using his fists. The duel ended in the favour of Muk.
Two more duels happened one in favour of Dan and the other in favour of Likon. As soon as the duel ended a brawl started. It was a children's fight but had any human seen this it was like grown adults fighting. The fact that there was a giant also didn't help.
