Chapter 1 - Chapter One

"Forever yours."

"Forever mine."

My girlfriend and I kissed as rode the bumpy road.

We heard a fake gag from my best friend who was driving us to this music camp.

"PDA!" He shouted.

We both rolled our eyes as I noticed him smiling in the mirror.

"Fuck off, Peter!" I smiled.

I saw him flick me off and I did the same.

Ah... Peter Xian... my best friend, not my brother. We have the same last name, but we are not related! People keep thinking we're siblings, but in reality, we're just childhood friends. Is it weird to say that if I didn't like girls, I would date him...?

He was pretty handsome. He's pretty fit, tall, and his personality is like a teddy bear. He lowkey looks like a kpop star because of his hair and his face, but in actuality, he's Chinese! Just like me! But, he knows fluent Korean and Mandarin.

"Wow, Taylor, your girlfriend is being rude to me!" He whined.

Taylor looked over at me and played with my finger.

Sigh... Taylor Fox, my girlfriend of 3 years. We started dating sophomore year but knew each other since middle school. I would say I'm pretty lucky to have her. In middle school, she was those 'cool' kids who would go to parties. Then, freshman year, everyone wanted her. One day, I was helping her with homework and suddenly, she kissed me. She confessed that she had a crush on me since middle school but was too shy to come up to me.

Taylor Fox was those badass girls, wearing dark clothes, looking intimidating. She was very social and went to a lot of parties. When she dated me, she would go to parties, but not as often as she did when she was younger. She was a bit taller than me, beautiful light brown eyes that sort of looked like honey in the sunlight. Honestly, I could imagine a future with her.

While I was thinking about the past, I felt my phone vibrate. I looked down and saw that my brother texted me. I opened the text and saw a picture of him with his girlfriend. But in the photo, I looked closely... a ring.

My brother, John, had been dating this girl for six years, and my family and I were waiting for them to get married!

I started to squeal and shoved my phone to Taylor's face.

"What happened?!" Peter asked.

"John is engaged with Kassandra!" I cheered.

Peter cheered for a bit and then looked at me.

"So, then, when are you girls going to get married? After high school?" Peter asked us.

I looked over to Taylor who just stared at the photo with a blank face. She totally ignored Peter and didn't even look at me. I looked at Peter and just gave a sad smile.

We actually had this conversation before. About getting married and all that stuff... Taylor didn't want to get married. I'm indifferent about it but it would be nice to get married and everything.

When I was about to talk to Taylor, I saw that we arrived at the camp. I saw a lot of teens dancing, singing, talking, exploring... Taylor handed me back my phone and quickly went out. I followed her to the back as she started to get her bags out of her car.

Once she got her bags, she quickly walked away. Peter walked behind me and patted my shoulder.

"Sorry. I didn't know... uh... I'll sign us in with Taylor. We're all in a cabin together, so just meet us there." He tossed me the keys.

I nodded at him, as he grabbed my bags and his. I saw him walk away and I locked the car. I sighed as I walked away from the car and from the crowd. I looked around and didn't see much. There was a lake where people were swimming, a volleyball court, tables, and a forest trail.

I looked towards Peter and Taylor who were entering our cabin. Taylor just looked a bit mad which I didn't understand.

I looked down at my phone.

"Congrats! Can't wait for the wedding!" I hit send.

Then, I closed my phone. I looked towards the forest trail and walked over. It looked pretty crowded where the cliff trail was, so I went to a different trail. It looked pretty empty. I saw a couple of groups walking through this trail.

It was nice. The smell of fresh air. The sounds of birds chirping. I looked around and saw a small trail. It looked like no one was there, and I think that no one really noticed it. I walked towards that trail and followed it. I don't even know if this was a trail to be honest which kind of scared me.

I saw no one around me, but I kept walking. I knew where I was going, I was just going straight. The farther I walked and the less I heard people, the more I heard... water? I followed that water sound for a while.

It was pretty far away but after five minutes, I saw a beautiful waterfall. The water sparkled in the sunlight. I didn't see anyone there, and so I sat down. I pulled out my phone and saw that I had no data... scary.

I swiped to my camera app and raised it up to the waterfall.

I looked at the photo that I took. It was pretty. But, underneath the waterfall, I saw a figure. I zoomed in and saw a silhouette of a person. I stood up quickly to my feet. I put my phone down on the sand and squinted at the waterfall.

I saw no one...

Now, I had two choices. Go back to the camp, or see what's underneath the waterfall and possibly get killed.

I took a deep breath, taking my glasses off and putting my hair up in a small ponytail. I took off my shoes and walked slowly into the water. The water went up to my waist once I was nearby the waterfall.

As I looked again, I saw the figure again. Then, my ears heard a voice. It was saying something...

No, singing something.

I was in a trace. I wanted to know who was singing, but the waterful covered them. If I wanted to know who it was, I had to walk into the waterfall...

"Here goes nothing." I took a deep breath and walked into the waterfall, closing my eyes

At first, I thought I was in there for a long time, but it was pretty short. I could breathe the air. Then, I opened my eyes.

There was a girl, singing some song. I don't know what it was, but she looked beautiful. She had dyed light pink hair up to her shoulders, pink small lips, her face was a bit chubby, but her body looked fit. She kind of reminded me of a chipmunk.

As I was staring at her in awe, she looked at me. That's when I stepped out of it.

"AH!" We both screamed.

I tried to walk back, but the water made me trip. I quickly swam my ass out of there and quickly grabbed everything. My phone, my glasses, and I slipped on my shoes. I ran back to the camp all wet.

Everyone was staring at me as I quickly tried finding the cabin that Peter and Taylor were in. Once I found it, I quickly slammed the door. I saw Peter and this girl looking at me, curious as why I'm soaking wet.

I gave a chuckle.

"So... where's Taylor?" I asked.
