A few more weeks went past before I actually built up the courage to tell Hannah how I felt, and during that time, my feelings for her did nothing but grow. We had several more intimate encounters throughout those weeks, and I loved every minute of them so, so much.
At this point, she knew that I was at least sexually attracted to her, but I didn't know how she would react to hearing that I had feelings for her, which is why I put it off for so long.

"Hannah?" I walked down the hall from my bedroom and into Hannah's room, eager to talk to her.
When I entered the room, it was completely empty. I looked in the drawers for a sign that she was still here, but they were all empty and her suitcase wasn't under the bed anymore.
"Hannah?!" I shouted a little louder as I walked back down the hallway to the stairs. There, I saw Hannah, with her suitcase in hand, approaching the door.
"Mavis?" She turned towards me as I trotted down the stairs as fast as I could.
"Why are you shouting?"
"I-I thought you were gone."
"Yea, I was getting there."
"Oh. Are you going to see your family?"
"No. Your parents are on their way back from the airport."
"Still, you weren't even going to say goodbye?"
"I left you a note."
"Yeah. I found it." I pulled a small piece of paper out with two small words scribbled on it of my back pocket.
"Seriously. 'See You?' What the fuck is that?"
"I thought it was kinda self explanatory, but okay...It means-"
"What's up with you? Why are you being so..."
"So what?"
"Dull!" I couldn't help but yell. I understand that she might not have been that 'emotionally connected' to me, but leaving with nothing but a shitty little note... No. That was not happening.
She scoffed. "Dull? You barely even know me. Yet, you somehow 'know' that this is me being 'dull'?" She sat her suitcase down on the table inside the door and stepped towards me. I, however, remained fixed at the bottom of the stairs.
"I KNOW! AND THAT'S WHAT PISSES ME OFF!" I completely lost it, and yelled as loud as I could at her. I was confused as to why I felt the way that I did, but I knew for a fact what that feeling was.
"WHAT! WHAT COULD POSSIBLY MAKE YOU SO MAD THAT YOU COME DOWN HERE SCREAMING AT ME FOR 'NOT SAYING GOODBYE' TO YOU?" I'd never seen this side of Hannah before. But was obvious to me that she was just as frustrated as I was.
"I FUCKING LOVE YOU, THAT'S WHAT!" I could barely see Hannah through my teary eyes.
"No. You don't."
"How do you know that I don't?"
"How do you know that you do?!"
"Because I've never felt this way before. For anyone."
"Just because it's new doesn't mean it's love."
"WHAT THE FUCK EVEN IS LOVE?!" Unfortunately, I lost control...again.
"Are you serious?!" Hannah scoffed and stepped further away from me.
"ALL I KNOW IS THAT I-" My voice broke, so I lowered it. "I want to be with you every second of every day! I want to hold you, and kiss you, and make you happy as much as I possibly can! I want to keep you safe, and fucking end everyone who makes you unhappy or scared!" I took a moment to catch my breath, avoiding eye contact with Hannah.
"I-I want to be yo-your Chris..." I knew that she had no idea what I was talking about, but it made sense to me.
"I jus...Don't leave. Not yet." I didn't bother wiping my eyes as I stepped closer to her.
"I have to. Your parents are back..." Her voice was much softer than before.
"So? They'll be gone soon. Debatably too soon, but I don't give a fuck."
"What about your dad? Don't you want to see-"
"I. Don't. Care." I slid one of my hands around Hannah's waist, enjoying the small gasps that escaped her mouth as I made my way up her shirt.
"Mavis..." The sound of my name leaving her lips...The butterflies it gave me were indescribable.
"Please. Just hear me out."
"You're parents are gonna be here in half an hour. Make it quick." I took Hannah by the hand and led her to the library.

I listened patiently as Mavis excitedly told me her plan; she was going to act out to get her parents to hire me more, even if they weren't leaving.
I was still unsure about my feelings for Mavis, but I knew that being here benefitted me in more than one way, and honestly, it seemed to do the same for her. I didn't know what the hell we were or how to deal with the fact that Mavis thinks she'd fallen in love with me, but I wasn't ready to let go yet.
"Okay."
"What?" Mavis looked over at me, cheeks completely flushed, her words breathless.
"Really?"
"Yeah. Let's do it."
