"Long time no see children"
the trio entered as Chris stormed off not bothering to greet his mother.
" mum, what are you doing here" Amira said in a happy voice. Eighteen years ago, her mother had left their father to pursue her dream of being the world best movie director, but Amira didn't know that her mother and father had been divorced for eighteen years and had lied to her that she was traveling and she will come back. Chris overhead when his mom and dad were complaining about the divorce that his mom had brought up eighteen years ago and he was strongly against it, since then he had always hated his mom and now she was back things are about to get crazy.
Back downstairs Keturah and Amira were discussing with Mrs Lou. Chris came downstairs and didn't even bother greeting his mom and went back upstairs.
" Don't worry aunt Jasmine, I will talk to him and don't worry he will come around" Keturah said to Chris' mom before going upstairs to Chris' room.
Knock Knock !!
Keturah knocked on Chris' door before he opened the door and she walked in and sat on the bed.
"Hey" keturah greeted him, but he didn't reply and continued staring up the ceiling.
" I came to apologize for what happened today, I was careless and I should have looked at where I was going. I am sorry" Keturah said poking Chris' arm.
" it's okay, I forgive you" Chris said as he stood up and faced Keturah.
" now back to your mother" Keturah said as she turned serious, she could see that Chris was in no mood to talk about his mom. But she just had to talk to him, because his mom had come all the way from South Korea to spend time with them.
"ughhhh, do we have to" Chris said as he stood up and sat down at the patio. Keturah joined him and stood in front of him saying:
" Chris, don't be like this, she is your mum no matter what. I know you hated the fact that she left your father and went to pursue her dreams as the world best movie producer, but who are you to question her. it was her choice to go and it has always been her dream to be a rich movie producer so that she can comeback to you guys not as a poor woman waiting for her husband's money, but as a woman that is dependent and not depending on other people. she worked hard to reach were she is today, a business woman, a mother, a daughter, a friend and a companion. she calls me every month to know how you were doing cause she was too afraid to call you. she thinks she has failed as a mother but the truth is that she has done more than what a mother will do. she sacrificed herself to make you guys happy, she had sleepless night thinking about you guys and here you are angry at her. I will kill to have a mother like that, but I know I have mine and she will kill for me. even if she is married to that wicked man, she will still be my mother and will always be mother. So if I were you I will get up and go downstairs to my mum and give her the biggest and tightest hug, do you know why?. it's because she deserves it. your mum never divorced you dad, you didn't hear the full story. eighteen years ago, when your mother was talking to your father about the divorce; I was in the room hiding under the bed. your dad was strongly against the divorce, she was scared that if she didn't divorce your father. she might not comeback and you guys might hold a grudge against her and will never forgive her. so she made a choice not to get divorced and when she had made it she will come back. So you see, you were accusing your mom wrongly. so please go downstairs and talk to your mom, she really want to hold you in her arms like old times"
Tears dropped from Chris' eyes as he heard those words from keturah, he quickly stood and ran downstairs to his mum; whilst keturah followed him slowly.
"Mom!!!" Chris called his mom as he ran toward his mom and gave her a big hug.
" Ma, I'm so sorry. I blamed you all these years , I hated you for no fucking reason and didn't pick your calls. I'm sorry for being stubborn, for taking time to come out from your womb, I'm sorry for not understanding the whole situation" Chris cried on his mom's shoulder.
" Shhhhhh, it okay Christopher. I know you were angry that I left and your I shouldn't have gone, so I should be the one asking for your forgiveness. Son, con you forgive me?" Aunt Jasmine; Chris' mother asked she was also crying. Chris pulled her from his embrace and wiped his tear that dripped down from her face.
" Today, I will hold a feast for the return of my mum" Chris asked all the cook and butler Lennon to make a delicious meal.
After couple of hours, the dining was full of delicious food and tasty wines and a bottle of a vintage expensive champagne.
while the family were eating. everyone was happy, especially Chris and his mother jasmine.
" Umm...Chris" Keturah called Chris who was whispering things in his mother's ear and they both laughed hard.
" Yes, Turah"
"I will be going home tomorrow, because Alicia will be getting married to general Frank, he proposed a day before yesterday. So their marriage date it settled for tommorow and I need to be there asap tommorow. By the way you guys are also going to attend, so cancel all your schedule for tommorow. I'm sure Alicia will be to see you guys, especially you aunt Jasmine"
" okay, no problem dear. we are surely going to attend the wedding and please if I can be of any help lemme know" aunt Jasmine said as she held Keturah's hand.
" Now back to you Christopher, when am I getting grandchildren" aunt Jasmine said as she looked at Chris who chocked on his drink.
" Ma, I haven't gotten married and here you are asking for grandchildren. take it easy Ma, but very soon you will have one" Chris said.
" Okay I'm full and I had a long journey, so children this old lady wants to rest. Goodnight"
" Goodnight Ma" the three of them said in chorus.
