Raven caught Rei gently as the boy fell. Mana, on the other hand, arrested the girl in a cage of green light.
To the girl, it seemed that Raven and Mana suddenly appeared out of thin air. She looked at them in shock, her face pale and her eyes wide with fear. "How… how did the two of you get here?" she asked in a terrified whisper.
Mana's eyes flashed angrily and she didn't bother responding to the girl. She was so angry that green electricity crackled in the air around her. She turned to Raven and asked, "How is Rei?"
Rei, who had not fully lost consciousness yet, struggled to open his eyes. "Queen Mana… King Raven… be careful… she wants to harm you…" he said weakly.
"Don't worry," Raven said quietly. "We heard everything. Thank you, Rei, for protecting Mana and me. We are very grateful to you."
Rei smiled brightly even as his vision dimmed. "Then… I can die happy…" he murmured.
"You're not going to die, Rei," Mana said firmly.
