Chapter 61 - There's No Need To Suck Up

Sterling

Isabelle followed by my side as we made it into the meeting room. My father had set up for me to get this process of a contract going with a client. Even with everything going on, there is still actual business here at Tipton Enterprises that has to be handled.

I opened the door and Isabelle stepped inside. I let the door close behind us and the client proceeded to stand up. "Mr. Tipton, I was expecting your father."

"He's busy right now." I responded. It wasn't a lie, he had to focus more on researching the information he had on the Tunts. "Is that a problem Mr. Rawlins?"

"No, not at all." He quickly answered and stuck his hand out. "It's just as much of a pleasure to meet with you as it would be him."

I shook his hand and took a seat. "There's no need to suck up Mr. Rawlins, let's just get down to business, shall we?"

"Of course." Mr. Rawlins nodded as he took his seat.

My father had always taught me, most people will be fake to try to get what they want. They'll be overly nice and try to act like your friend just because they think it'll get them a contract, especially with our family. Therefore, it never hurts to remind them that to us, it doesn't matter how fake they are, it won't impress the Tipton's.

"From what I understood you want Tipton Enterprises to help back your company's expansion, correct?" I asked.

"Yes sir." Mr. Rawlins responded.

His company is a small one that barely started a few years ago. They finally had gotten enough clients and employees to branch out. The issue was they needed funding and help getting things up and going. Luckily Mr. Rawlins was able to score in this meeting.

"Clearly you're successful to some degree, there's no doubt about that." If he wasn't then my father wouldn't have entertained the thought of helping him out. "Tell me, what is the purpose of this second branch?"

Another thing my father taught me, make them give you reasons for their request. It'll show you how passionate and dedicated they are. If they can't give you a good answer, then it's a red flag. The last thing we want to do is give a contract to someone who doesn't even fully believe in their business.

"Well, see we have everything going on in the building we have." Mr. Rawlins began to explain. "The thought process is one branch will manufacture our equipment while the other branch will be in charge of making sure the software is perfect."

"Makes sense." I nodded.

Isabelle sat by my side taking notes for the duration of the meeting. This way my father would be able to look back and see exactly what happened. Either he would be pleased or he'd use them to point out where I could improve.

The meeting continued on for about thirty more minutes. I made him provide reports for the money going in and out. I also made him show me all the plans that he had for this second branch and the time line they had for it. He was readily prepared for each request which was a good thing for him.

By the end of it Mr. Rawlins and I were in agreement that it would be beneficial for Tipton Enterprises to take him on. All that we needed to do next was get the contract prepared, meet one more time to make sure it all looks good, and then he'd get whatever's needed to get the next branch set up.

"Thank you Mr. Tipton." Mr. Rawlins stood up and stuck his hand out once again. "It's been a pleasure meeting with you."

"Likewise." I stood and shook his hand. "My assistant will get the contract prepped and sent over by the end of the week."

"Sounds good." He responded.

Isabelle and I then proceeded to leave the room. The door shut and we headed to the elevator. The doors closed and I wrapped my arm around her waist. I proceeded to then move my hand down and gave her ass a firm squeeze.

We kept the PDA toned down at work. I've given her a kiss goodbye here and there if I have to run out with my father. It was the only thing anyone was allowed to see as I didn't want anyone to talk negatively about my relationship with her.

However, in my office it was another story. The walls are soundproof and the windows are made so only I could look out. It gave us all the privacy we needed when the temptation was too much and I needed more than just a peck from her.

The elevator doors opened and Isabelle moved my hand away. She stepped out of the elevator and I followed behind her just to take a good look at her backside. We got to her desk and she sat down.

"I have a contract I need to work on Mr. Tipton, you better get inside your office." Isabelle smirked.

"Of course." I nodded and headed inside of my office.

I sat down at my desk and began to go over the emails awaiting my attention. I spent a good hour going through and responding to them. I was about finished up when the phone on my desk began to ring.

I picked it up and brought it to my ear. "Hello?"

"There's someone who won't stop calling until she can speak with you." Isabelle's annoyed tone gave it away on who exactly it was.

"Did she at least say what she wanted?" I asked.

"No. She said it was above my pay grade to ask." Isabelle responded.

"Lovely." I let out an annoyed sigh. "Send her though."

"Okay. Good luck." She spoke before letting Elise's call come through.

"What do you want?" I made sure my words were far from welcoming. I just wanted to get this conversation done and over with.

"I want to meet with you and your father." Surprisingly Elise managed to get right to the point.

"Incase you forgot, my father banned you from stepping foot on Tipton Enterprises." I politely reminded her.

"Oh, I know." She responded but her tone remained as confident as it was when she made her demand. "But I think he can make an exception this one time."

"And why's that?" I rolled my eyes.

"Oh Sterling." Elise let out a sardonic laugh. "Just tell him I found out a little secret of his. I'm sure that'll be convincing enough for him. I'm thinking about two in the afternoon tomorrow, send the confirmation to my assistant please."
