Background:
Born in Japan, Jin had a sort of traumatic childhood in the years after he was born. He doesn't remember his birth parents after their deaths and grew up on the streets after running away from an orphanage. At age 11 Jin met Aiko Matsuura as he'd been found sitting in a dark alley with a head injury, rather than call authorities she had taken him home with her. Growing up in Izuhara District of Kasane City Jin worshiped Aiko as his entire word after giving him a home and love, as such he never wanted to disappoint her in any way.
Aiko also stated one reason for her adopting Jin as her son was because she lived alone and was growing bored of having no kind of company, taking in Jin changed all that however. She also claimed that he was "too cute" to abandon. Despite Aiko not being his biological mother, Jin loves her dearly.
Jin was raised among the wealthy, noble, and prestigious Matsuura Family, one of the most powerful families in all of Japan and the rest of Asia. with its origins dating back to the 21st century in the years after The Spreading. Its current head being Yasunori Matsuura, Jin's adoptive grandfather and Aiko's father. Each of the family members are known for specializing in different careers and have wide reaches all across the country.
His mother used to be a deep sea diver and is a current executive of a corporation, his aunt Rei is an engineer and scientist, his uncle Saburo is a Japanese Navy admiral, his aunt Ayane is a powerful government official who serves in the prime ministers cabinet with yakuza ties, his, and his grandfather is CEO of a powerful corporation and former space explorer.
Being raised in such a family caused Jin to develop various skills throughout his life. He went on his first deep sea dive in the South Pacific with Aiko when he was 14, at age 15 Jin had attended an expedition to Antarctica with his grandfather and spent the summer in the continent.
Growing up Jin was also introduced to kenjutsu at an early age by his grandfather, Yasunori Matsuura. Under his strict and watchful eye Yasunori embedded within Jin the skills and training of a samurai, both to strengthen his place within the Matsuura family and as a way for the two to bond. Despite his initial strict personality, Yasunori cares for his family and has always looked out for Jin.
When Jin was 13 his mother Aiko had begun dating a woman named Katsumi Takeda, an athletic and well built tomboy who was a famed space explorer and was the first human to land on the hostile world of exoplanet Vulcan. She also helped raise Jin as if he were her son. Katsumi would often spend time over at their house and first met Jin when he arrived home from school one day. While shy and distant at first Jin grew to love Katsumi as she acted as both his guardian and father-like figure, instilling in him a love for space and aviation.
Jin also speaks, reads, and writes fluent English and Russian aside from his native Japanese. The latter of which he learned from living in Sakhalin, Russia from age 13 to 17 given that Aiko had a job there. He is also ethnically half Russian but his name and nationality is Japanese. He'd grown up heavily immersed in both Japanese and Russian culture and used to take trips to Moscow and Saint Petersburg through the Trans-Siberian Highspeed Railway, as he used to live in Russia when he was younger before eventually moving back to Japan.
At age 17 during a class trip and just days before his graduation, a Xeno had appeared at the museum he was visiting. During the evacuation process Jin had stayed behind to save his friend Mikhail who was stuck between a set of beams. Unable to free him from the trap and with the creature approaching closer Mikhail ordered Jin to leave him behind and save himself, promising to see him on the other side. Realizing he had no choice, Jin left him behind as the Xeno approached their position, he could only watch in horror as he was killed by the creature.
After graduation Jin suffered from PTSD and survivors guilt, unable to cope with the loss of his only friend and blaming himself for failing to free him. Deciding that a normal life was near impossible, Jin enlisted in Norio to become a fighter pilot and do his part in defending Japan from the Xenos. Promising to himself to never let anyone die again.
As a fighter pilot Jin learned the skills necessary to fly a plane and virtually almost any type of aircraft, having passed the exams with flying colors and showing exceptional skill to his superiors. He has seen aerial combat against Xenos all over Asia and the South Pacific and has flown combat operations in the Philippines, Russia, and Korea.
Within the first year of his career Jin received two national awards for his outstanding service in the region, one of which was from his home country. These include the Hero of the Russian Federation from Russia, and the Order of the Rising Sun from Japan.
Personality:
Raised by his strict but loving mother, Jin had grown up as a humble and caring young man. He is often calm and reserved and has a sense of honor and purpose most others don't as he refuses to involve innocents into conflicts, and will defend those weaker than him. Having experienced a traumatic event at age eighteen Jin is often willing to place himself into dangerous situations before anyone else, not willing to let anyone else suffer in his place.
Aside from his moral code, Jin is also very laid back and carefree at times, it is shown that he actually enjoys piloting and often does flashy moves while in a jet much to the annoyance of his superiors.
Jin also hates things he sees as immoral such as using others as scapegoats to save themselves, and liars. At first Jin wasn't much of a people person and spent his time reading books and learning about various historical topics. The loss of Mikhail also had a deep impact on his life as he was the only friend Jin ever had, but eventually Jin would come to meet new friends along the way. Among them is his Astrean counterpart Nio.
Jin is also a capable fighter. Having learned how to fight before and during his training for Norio, Jin is skilled in both Japanese and Korean martial arts. Able to overpower opponents twice his size.
When it comes to fighting Norios human threats such as anti-UN insurgency groups, Jin is also known to display a sort of fascist-like evil side to him that only manifests when he sees insurgents targeting innocents. When combating human threats Jin shows extreme ruthlessness and brutality to anyone who harms civilians, and has no qualms about killing those who show such cowardice. A side he never lets Emma see.

Jin is a young and handsome Japanese male standing at about 5'6 in height and weighs only 170 pounds. He has a light skin tone with short grey hair and red eyes that people find interesting and attractive, with features from both his Japanese and Russian sides. Because of these features Jin has always been popular with girls of all ages. He was often referred to as "Playboy" by his classmates despite his rejection of the name. Due to his popularity Jin would also come to kiss multiple girls throughout his time in high school and beyond. Despite this Jin was never really interested in a serious relationship at the time. Stating that he could never find the right one who really accepted him for himself. That was until he met his alien friend and future lover Emma who not only confessed to him, but helped him come to terms with his past tragedy. For this, Jin is always protective of her and is willing to defend her in any case.
Skills:
Being raised among a prominent family, Jin has a vast array of skills. In addition to his experience in exploring and diving he is capable of flying almost every kind of aircraft known to man. From fighter jets, normal planes, helicopters, etc. Aside from being a fighter pilot for Norio and combating the Xenos, Jin is also an avid explorer. He owns and operates his own personal electric airplane which he uses to take trips into Sakhalin, Russia with his girlfriend.
Being bilingual in Japanese, Russian, and English, Jin contributes greatly to Demon Squadron when they come into language barriers with Norio branches of Russia and America. He also hold Russia in high regards and respect given that he once lived there and often amazes his native Japanese people with his Russian speaking skills.
