A man who had a calmer expression stepped in front of the angry man. He had a humble smile on his face and was wearing a plain t-shirt and simple jeans. He had his hands behind his back and said "Excuse my guard here, he can get a little bit angered sometimes. He didn't like how we were treated at the gates".
The King smiled and walked over to the man in question while the rest of them took a relieving breath and took their seats with Rose still on her phone paying no attention to the things happening around her.
The King stood in front of the man and shook his hands vigorously. "Good morning King Davies," the man said.
"Oh, no need for all those formalities, just call me father-in-law"
"Ok, how is your morning going father-in-law?"
The King then laughed hysterically leaving the man confused because he didn't get the joke. "You're a joker huh? I like you. I like you. By the way, I hope you didn't experience and form hassle at the gate." the King continued.
"Nothing but -". the man then turned his gaze to his guard who looked like he had calmed down a little bit but, anger was still dancing in his eyes.
"Oh yes! The guards. I'm very sorry that you had to go through that but, if anyone should understand there are protocols, it should be you" said the King.
"I completely understand father-in-law but, the only thing is that the guards, they were a little bit...rude"
"RUDE?! They were rude to the future son-in-law of the South Empire? Today, I will have their heads"
"There's no -"
"NO! Didn't you tell them who you are?"
"I did but -"
"Good! They have no right to treat you like some...some...commoner?! Can you recognize the guards who treated you badly?"
"Yes but -"
"Splendid! Oliver!" the King commanded. Oliver who had been standing by a corner of the room the whole time stepped forward and he responded saying "Yes my Lord"
"Get me all the guards that are supposed to be at the checkpoint right now"
"Yes my Lord"
The man stopped Oliver mid-way saying "There is no need for that father-in-law. It's our first time here and we wouldn't want to be the cause of any man losing his job today you know?"
"No, I don't know! What they did is unacceptable! You are my son-in-law boy! They need to learn how to treat you with respect. You are no commoner? You are the second prince of the Wearlof Empire. Prince Rexford the eighteenth. Future son-in-law of the South Empire. What do you mean? Those men are dead fish today. Oliver! Get them for me!"
Once again, just as Oliver was about to take a step forward, the prince stopped him saying "Father-in-law, for my sake, please forgive them. I am an ambassador of my country everywhere I go and Wearlof is an Empire know for peace and personally, I love peace too.
Besides, we're fine now. Look at him" the prince said, talking about his guard who was right beside them.
The guard was calm now and anger was no longer written all over his face. "He does look calm now" responded the King.
"His name is Damon"
"Well then, Damon looks calm now"
"Yes so, we're fine. There will be no need for stress"
"Are you sure?"
"Absolutely"
"Ok. Oliver, you can go and stand by the corner"
Then, their conversation continued. After a few minutes of talking, the queen suggested they should allow their guest to take a seat at the table. As the prince and the King were headed towards the table, the King turned around and walked back to Damon who was standing in another corner of the room, opposite Oliver.
The King looked up at him and said "Next time any of my guards disrespect you or my son-in-law, do me a favor and bring me one of their heads. Show no mercy. Capeesh?" The guard nodded respectfully in affirmation to the King's words.
The King then turned around and walked to Oliver and said to him. "Inform all the guards and maids that that prince over there is my son-in-law and any order he gives to any of them, is a direct order from me. Do you understand?"
"Yes my Lord"
"Davies! You're needed at the table!" said the queen.
"I'm coming my love." The King then turned his attention back to Oliver. "Tell the maids to serve breakfast immediately"
"Yes My Lord"
