It was a devastating experience. The entire academy shook to it's foundations at the result of the battle. Myself and Eric wiped out from exhaustion, had to rest for quite some time. When I came to, I met Ivory who said that after his family heard of his falling out with Casper and the fact that Casper joined forces with Cricket, they had come to take Eric back home which I was quite against but she argued that if he was left here at the academy, they could be used as a premise to get to Eric. Her argument was quite sound and I couldn't refute so I gave in.
We were discussing how to keep him so that other people may not be endangered by his presence when he finally woke up. He listened to us for a while and when he seemed to understand what we were discussing, he immediately said "What do you mean 'come home to stay'?! You don't seem to understand how dangerous that guy is. If he attacks while I'm at home, I won't be able to protect you guys." Ivory laughed and said "Don't underestimate us. You left for quite some time so I expected this reaction. The Licht weaponry system is enough to take down this entire academy should the need arise so you have not to worry." After arguing for quite some time, it was decided that Eric goes home to stay with his family.
I and Ivory, together with Talia and Natalie, accompanied him as he bade goodbye to the academy that brought him up. When we got to his house, his mom was waiting to usher him in with joy, even though it was a grim situation. At that point, I couldn't help but feel a little envious as his mother doted on him. After that, our stay was pretty uneventful until a few days later when, out of boredom, I volunteered to get the groceries and left with Natalie as Talia chose to help Mrs Licht with the housekeeping.
We were browsing at the store when we bumped into Percy. Percy was Natalie's childhood friend who used to joke around, saying that he awakened as an Irregular because of the jealousy he felt towards Natalie who 'got superpowers' before himself. We exchanged pleasantries and he walked away when I noticed something odd about him. He turned, looking at us out the corner of his eye as he spoke into something hidden in his collar. I turned and told Natalie how I wasn't sure about that guy. She responded, saying "I felt the same way when I saw him again. More like he had totally changed from the core of his being. I don't think he's the same person I know." As we spoke, I spotted a few guys who seemed to be watching us. Smiling, I turned to Natalie who smiled back, signifying that she also spotted them as we split, going in opposite directions so as to figure out their target.
It wasn't long after we separated that I heard the sound of fighting at a distance which I immediately ran towards but was stopped by the guys whom I spotted spying on us. "Get lost!" I said to them but they didn't move, not even saying a word which peeved me. I said, under my breath "If you aren't going to leave the road, I guess I just have to move you out of the way." as I lunged, grabbing one of them in a chokehold as I spun, throwing him against his comrades which they dodged like I just threw a rock at them. Two guys made their ways towards me, casting their spells as they walked. They hurled a potpourri of spells at me which I dodged most of it as some were able to connect, numbing one arm and setting my jacket on fire. The fight was pretty enjoyable as they gave me quite a challenge but apart from their teamwork, these guys had nothing on me. It was easy beating them up once I had figured out their attack pattern after which I made my way to Nat who had subjugated the ones that came after her. I was about patting us on the back when Percy came out, laughing. "After you must have exhausted yourselves with my boys, are you fit to be my opponents?"
I looked at Natalie and smiled. Understanding my aim, she made as if to run away which turned his attention towards her. As he made to prevent her from running, I immediately struck out with a high kick which got him square in the head. Natalie quickly followed with a drop kick which got him stumbling back. "We may have gotten exhausted, but that doesn't mean our bag of tricks are exhausted!" Natalie said as she blitzed him, landing attack after attack without giving him a moment to breath all the while I was catching my breath. As suddenly as she had begun attacking, she came and tapped me, signaling that I should take over. I went forward, landing attacks at him when I realized; he was completely fine even though he wasn't blocking any of the attacks. He looked at us and smiled. "All done now?" he asked as his pupils turned a familiar shade of green. Shocked, I stepped back as he laughed "Casper told me you'd know the owner of this ability. Don't die easily now!" he finished as he charged us, clearing us out of the store and into the streets. A now enraged Natalie took a deep breath. Knowing what was coming, I did the same just as the surrounding temperature dropped to the point of freezing the moisture in the air. She stretched out her hands and a longsword materialized and she charged. Percy suddenly materialized his own sword as he engaged in a fierce sword battle with the ice princess. She looked at me as she flashed a cold smile at me. Sprouting wings as white as ice, she soared into the air with Percy held by her legs. I followed her, jumping through building roofs as they moved at an amazing speed. When I caught up with them, she was hacking him like a madman while he tried to fight back. I immediately joined and, grabbing his face, I slammed him into the ground, cracking the asphalt. He stood up, shook the dust that clung to him and said "It was fun playing with you. I hope you'll entertain me as much when we meet again." as he opened a portal and disappeared into the shadows.
