Dimali retreated with all the Elves deep into the Plane, praying for Lord Ange's blessing to not let the passing Ancient Gods discover them.
No one knew that Dimali had been secretly sheltering so many Elves, treating them like family, preferring to call for Lord Ange's help rather than abandoning them because Dimali had been raised by the Elves since childhood; he was a domestic Ancient God.
Well, it might be more accurate to say he was raised by the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, but the Void Elves took care of him, and they shared deep affection. Hence, after the Tree perished, Dimali did his best to protect some Elves.
Over these hundreds of thousands of years, the number of sheltered Elves increased and decreased but generally remained below six hundred thousand—the maximum population that this Shattered Plane could accommodate.
