Chapter 102 - I don't smell like a fruit...

Aiden shifted in his position so he could lie down on my lap, facing the TV. My fingers thread their way through his soft hair as I lean back on the couch, his curls going in different directions. I kept my eyes on the television even when I caught him stealing glances at me throughout the film. I brush his strands out of his forehead, pulling them up and over his head. I hear him sigh as I play with the ends of his hair.

Karen shifted beside me before getting up. Clearly, she could read the atmosphere in the room, and she knew that Aiden and I needed to talk. "I'll be back, kids. I'm going to make a call."

She got up and left, heading upstairs. I turned towards my uncle, who was grinning at his phone screen. Him being completely oblivious and not being able to understand what is going on, only sits on the couch, laughing to himself. Simultaneously, Aiden and I both grab a throw pillow and launch it in my uncle's direction.
