Chapter 89 - My cool grandma...

My ponytail band stayed on my wrist. Karen and I were sitting outside of a small coffee shop, the umbrella above us shielding the sun that hid behind the clouds. I played around with the straw of my lemonade, a little lemon put on the edge of the rim. 

My hair was now above the middle of my back, layered, trimmed, and washed perfectly fine. The hairdressers added some conditioner thing- I wasn't really paying attention to the details- to make it more voluminous and such. I had bangs that I really didn't notice before, and they hung to the side of my face, making me feel more exposed than my old curtain of hair.

"I like your new style. It fits you better."  Karen told me, and I grimaced.

"It's... okay," I said, shrugging my shoulders and playing with the end of my hair.

My grandmother took a good look at me and had a sad smile playing on her lips. "You look like your mother," She shook her head and let out a sigh. "I'm only glad you are nothing like her."
