I walked over to my desk, pulling my songbook out of the locked drawer. I sadly smiled, blowing the dust all over the book's cover.
"Is that yours?" Aiden asked from behind me, his voice causing goosebumps to rise on my skin.
I shook my head. "Yeah. But we wrote most of the songs in this book together."
"May I?"
I bit my lip while debating if I should let him into my father and I's escape world. While having this book out here feels wrong, each of the songs written here is personal in every way. It's harder for me to read it because every word reminds me of him. But Aiden knows about my feelings towards my father's death and my mom's negligence, so when my eyes met his gaze, I nodded for him to go ahead.
"Pictures," He reads the title out loud. He scans the lyrics, brows furrowing together and lips tugged into a frown.
He lifts his eyes to me once he finishes. "Is this about...?"
