I blinked, squinting as I slowly opened my eyes. I drowsily looked around my dark room, wondering what could've woken me up. The rustling of the trees outside my window was making weird shadows in the night. Or was it the heavy patter of rain hitting the hard, concrete floor outside? The weather said there would be a severe storm tonight. I think that's what woke me up. No, it wasn't. I leaned up on my forearm to hear the buzzing sound coming from my phone.
Rubbing my eyes to wake me up slightly at two o'clock in the morning, I grabbed my phone from the drawer and stared at it like it was some technology from the aliens. I see ten missed calls from Aiden as the buzzing stops and another on its way as my phone vibrates again. Having the feeling that something terrific must've happened, I tap the answer button.
The sound of the heavy downpour echoed through the phone, as well as Aiden's shaky breathing. "H-Hey."
Seriously? Is this guy for real?
