Now that's a title. I don't think I've seen anyone write something to get put on a list, this early in a story. The writer must really like being watched.
This is Clone 2. I am the second clone that the original has sent out to search for some girl. According to his memories, her name is Ultear Milkovich. Or to be more precise, it will be. I am to do my best to befriend her with the restrictions of behaving how the Original would. His goal for her is to join hands with him. I assume he will want me to break her out once she has sufficient trust in me.
I have been flying around in a random direction to find the research center. It is difficult since it is a hidden base. The original can't even ask Ur because he shouldn't even know that Ultear exists. Thus, leaving flying around the only option. Lucky for me, I draw energy from the original, so I don't need to sleep or breathe. I'm glad that the show displayed the location of the 'research' center was in the desert. So, I aim to go to the town closest to it. The City Without Sound? At least that is what it would be called, 7 or 8 years in the future. I'll play on the chance that I will get kidnapped or see someone being kidnapped.
I have arrived in the 'City Without Sound', but all I hear is the hustle and the bustle of the city. Interesting. Is this perhaps the reason for its future silence? It was so loud and so excited that the filler villain just wanted to silence it? To see something so large become a husk of its former self? Though she did simply call it an experiment. Ah, my thoughts. They have become something aside from my goal.
It has been around a week since I started my trip, though just a day since I reached the soundless city. I guess I need to rely on my 'plot armor' now. I guess Fortuna could help me. I mean she is the very embodiment of luck. It would be her divinity, I think. That doesn't matter for now. I think it would be helpful, nonetheless. As I walk through the city, all I see are people. But something is missing. The distinct lack of poverty. Where there are rich, there must be poor. That's a fact of life. There is no place that has only consisted of wealth nor has there ever been a place without discrimination. So, where are the targets? There doesn't look to be any poor, nor anyone different from 'Background Character #2'. There is nothing special about anybody. I guess impersonating something 'outside' or something 'new' would be the easiest way to be noticed.
I quietly walk into an alleyway. Damn. It smells worse than a sweaty locker room. Bleugh! I hold in my vomit, but the smell of urine and trash isn't doing me any favors. I hate the fact that I have to spend my time here. I unabashedly tear my favorite pair of pants and T-shirt. Then, closing my eyes and holding my breath, I roll around on the disgusting ground. UGH. The things I do to build the foundation to my harem.
Haaaaaaaah. I sigh in frustration. This is such a drag. Yeah, thanks Shikamaru. Always right about all this bull. Groaning internally, while showing a depressed face on the outside, I sat on top of the trash bags in the trash bin. I left it open for anybody to come by and see me. As I lay there, I couldn't help but let my mind wander. It first went to my original parents. Their smiling faces, the fights we had. The family road trip we took before my freshman year of college. Damn, it was a pain then. But a fond memory now. It was well over 3,000 miles driving. I really miss them. Not just them, but my brother too. He was a little naughty. Not a day would go by without him trying to mess with me. It was fun, we had our fair share of fights, but more than our fair share of fun. Then my thoughts wandered to my friends, and soon after into the rabbit hole known as the anime I watched. I remembered the plot for each and every one of them. Around 3 hours into my thoughts, I remembered Assassination Classroom. That was a great anime. The emotions, the drama. Oh, Koro-sensei was a comical genius. His story was PAIN. F in chat. I would still recommend that to every single person I talk to.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice that a random man had walked into the alley. He came up to me, and only then did I realize it was the same guy who met Ur in the anime. Down to the same wack glasses and aura.
"HEY! WHAT'RE YOU DOING IN THE TRASH? A KID?? GET OUT OF THERE!" He starts shouting. "IF YOU WANT A PLACE TO SLEEP, COME WITH ME. OR JUST KNOCK ON SOMEONE'S DOOR. WE'RE ALWAYS OPEN TO LET PEOPLE SPEND THE NIGHT INSIDE. "
Stop the cap.
"I'm sorry, sir. I'll get up and leave."
"HEY, KID! DIDN'T YOU HEAR? I'M GIVING YOU A PLACE TO STAY FOR THE NIGHT." He continues to shout.
"Wow, what a nice guy." Background Character #1 starts.
"Yeah, how kind." Background Character #2 finishes.
Hweh! Oops. I'm allergic to bullshit.
"Thank you very much, sir. This means a lot to me, sir." I just flatter.
"No problem kid. What's your name?"
"Alistair."
"Well, Alistair, nice to meet you." He says. "Now, follow me, I'm heading home for the day."
We walked for about 20 minutes, he guided me through the crowd and down a quiet street. Unfortunately for me, the sun went down half an hour ago. Wait, that's a good thing. I'm closer to getting kidnapped. Now, that's a sentence. Anyhow, as soon as we got to an under-lighted spot in the street, away from most of the streetlamps, I felt the man move uncomfortably and take a swing at me. I faked collapsing and being conked out.
