Chapter 287 Unexpected Attack!
South: Fox Village
Damian Charmons:
Stepping over to the older Foxman as I take the initiative to ask about where the leader of this village is hiding at, cautious as I am almost near the man, idly sitting on a wooden stool next to his bushel of merchandise, I say with a polite tone, excuse me kind sir, I'm new around these parts. Could you perhaps tell me something about this place.
Looking me up and down with his eyes normal but leery, raspy as his voice is as he answers, the older fox gentleman says, new to these parts huh. I can see that, not a lot of folks walk around in a bright orange cloak.
Nervous a tinge as he states that, thinking to myself as I sweat a smidge, I say, hopefully he doesn't make a scene, since I'm pretty sure he knows I'm human.
Continuing the flow of dialogue as the older fox man can sense that I'm a little anxious, he states, don't look so uptight boy I'm not going to shout, because you're a human. So, what do you want to know, for a price of course.
Breathing out a sigh of relief about hearing that he won't blow our covers, making my next move smooth as I pull out two coins from my sack snug in my left pocket, reaching out my hand with the two forms of currency caressed between my fingers, I state as I place them in the man's open palm, can you tell me where the leader of this place is stationed here?
Closing his hand with the money I gave him, feeling that his demeanor has changed since I asked my question, the older fox man says, why do you want to know where Oguma is? Did you come here to negotiate something with him?
Quick with a response, I say, something like that. So, do you know where I can find him?
Leering his eyes away from me for a split second as he looks past me, vocalizing still in a weird tone, the older fox man says, something like that aye, but one question again, why are you traveling with that rabbit folk then?
Triggered by him knowing Deda is with me, I move back slowly and say with an understanding tone of what's about to probably transpire, I get the feeling from you seeing him, you're not going to unleash where the leader of the village is.
Before the man can even state something back to me, coming out of a little cottage right next to the older man's vendor, two large fox men with swords come out as they dart at me, instantly pulling out my bow and snagging two arrows out my quiver, the older man says with a sinister look of disgust, I don't associate with folks who talk with rabbit folk filth.
