The moon glows in the dark sky along with billions of shining stars accompanying it. Crickets chirp in the bushes from afar, the rippling water dueting in the background.
King Theon could only think. 'I think it would be perfect to share this spot with someone.' He smiled to himself. 'We could share this moment of silence. Just laying here and looking at the moon.'
A shooting star caught his eye and he wished from the bottom of his heart, making him feel a little emotional. He wished to be with someone or that he could find her soon.
An unsettling feeling crept into his chest, making his heart hurt more and more. It was never like King Theon to want a woman in her life. No beautiful princess made him feel anything, it would only be that he'd feel irritated when he sees them. It's not like he despises princesses but he doesn't like their pride and overbearing personalities.
A faint noise interrupted King Theon's daydreaming. It was not natural or from any animal. He retreated behind thick bushes, trying to point out where that sound is coming from. He looked at the east side of the mountain and saw people with torches and armor shining under the fire.
King Theon felt rage build up inside him. How could some kingdom attack his people? No one will ever destroy what he built.
King Theon hurriedly went up and got on his warhorse that resembled the darkest and the deepest of nights. He went and rode back to his kingdom through a shortcut.
The shortcut was a hole in a mountain. It was covered with vines, making it almost invisible to the human eye.
King Theon arrived at his kingdom's gates. The soldiers stationed outside the gates could see the rage in their king's face, knowing that they're about to have a fight.
King Theon yelled at the top of his lungs. His fiery eyes showed pure anger and confidence. "Batallion!"
The soldiers from the watchtowers got to their signals horns and blew on them as hard and as long as possible. This cry calls all the soldiers, assassins, and wizards to fight for their kingdom. It also means that the citizens should hide the women and children in a secret area in the kingdom and the remaining men would stand by and protect that area and surrounding areas.
Every person in the kingdom had a role to play. Everyone has great willpower and willing to fight for each other and for the king that saved them and gave them new lives.
Archers and assassins were positioned on the walls of the kingdom, preparing to fire their bows at any moment. Everyone wore black to be hidden. After five minutes, everything went silent since King would know that the enemies will be arriving soon. The shortcut gave him time to prepare everyone.
King Theon hid behind a giant boulder near the gates of the places but was elevated by the hills surrounding it, making it being two men higher from the ground. It was the perfect place to order everyone from the perfect projection of his voice and echoes through the city walls.
King Theon's eyes narrow at the sound of faint rustling not too far away.
They were close.
