"Please welcome princess Claire en Bleu of the Percidon Kingdom." The announcer spoke with pride and joy. The crowd of hundreds of noblemen and women stood up and clapped as the doors opened.
'I am no princess in the eyes of my family.' Clara said to herself as she smiled, waving at the people as she descended down the stairs. The cold stares from her mother and father could carve a hole in her head and her brother's glares would've killed her if they'd be lasers or cursed.
The ball of the eldest prince's birthday, prince Cersi of Percidon, is held to give the prince the boost of approval from the people, the noblemen and to get attention from the imperial family if they ever arrive. They were invited to be in this celebration but they already know the ignorance of the father of Clara to be great.
The dance begins and multiple young noblemen danced with Clara but her eyes were filled with tiredness and her smiles were sweet but fakely displayed. Clara is still young to be married into a noble family, therefore not yet a liability to her parents.
The celebration was ongoing with great feedback from the people and the foreigners but unfortunately, the royal family did not arrive. Clara looked at the clock and it was time for her to leave. She looked at her father's direction and immediately she got the message.
Clara left early to go back to her bedroom located in the abandoned tower outside the castle of Percidon. She took off the jewelry and her gown, replacing it with rags and old clothing. She tied up her hair and retuned the clothes to her mother's room.
She went back to her tower and started to clean everything. Clara never complained about her situation since she has been doing these jobs as long as she can remember. Because she was a girl, she was not a use to her father and made her work with the maids of the palace.
Unlike the behavior that Clara had at the ball, she smiled genuinely as she cleaned her tower from top to bottom. She hummed and sang beautiful songs as she scrubbed the floors, polished her mirrors and waxed the wooden decorations.
She finally went up to her room which was a hundred feet or more up the ground and made her bed. She swept her floors and opened the window to look at the mountains and the busy people in the kingdom.
The people of the kingdon don't know about their princess Clara's conditions but they all love her more than the princess because of her goof and kind heart.
Clara takes her laundry and makes her way down the stairs to go to the springs near her tower but in the heart of the forest where no one can see her. Her father, the king banned her from doing the laundry in the palace and also banned her from showering inside the palace, and so she takes a bath when she washes her clothes at the springs. She did this ever since she was little.
One time, she did laundry and a bath on a cold day since it was a day before winter and she had to take care of herself and treat herself since her mother banned her from going to the Palace doctor to treat herself. Now, at the age of fifteen, she already knows how to treat forty-five sicknesses or symptoms by experimenting with the herbs grown near the spring.
'It's almost noon. I need to do the laundry fast so I can feed the palace pets.' Clara thought to herself. She always thinks about what she wants for lunch but her lunch time would be eaten in the afternoon because the ball took three hours from her daily work routine.
'The spring is looking beautiful today' Clara said to herself as she approaches the spring.
