JJ nodded, then put a hand on my shoulder and frowned. "It would be safer for you to move further away from here. The chaos is a thing that tends to spread."
I gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, I have no desire to move anywhere but away from that place. I can do my magic from afar just as well." And see through my well what's going on inside the auction house. Fury and panic reined.
How lucky I was that JJ was, the only one in the room, vampire unaffected by his kind's homicidal urges. If he'd went berserk with everyone else, I… I wouldn't know what to do.
JJ smiled back at me and dropped his hand. "I can't say that I won't worry at all, but at least I will worry less that way. Have luck."
After that, without waiting for my response, he vanished from the spot in a blur of motion too fast for a human eye to catch, leaving me on my own. But while I knew where he was going, and what for, I wasn't lost and wasn't aimless. My aim was to help.
