Iris tilted her head to the side thoughtfully then nodded, " Absolutely ". He raised an eyebrow, " Would you tell me how "? Iris smile didn't let up, " I'd buy myself some happiness. I'm rich, I can buy whatever I want ".
" What if you get sick "? Iris frowned as she pointed the tip of the book at him, " Are you hoping I'm sick "? He frantically shook his head, " Of course not, you're the almighty villain. Immune to all diseases ".
Iris nodded, relaxing again " It does have a good ring to it but I'd have super speed or the power to stop time ". He already knew the reason would be something ridiculous and it was.
" Super speed so I could go wherever I want and I'd never be late for class again. Time stopping so I'd never fail tests and I could do whatever I wanted while the world was paused ".
" Is that really a good idea "? She nodded thoughtfully, " You're right, I can't pick between the two....So I'll have them both ". He smacked his forehead [ What was I expecting? ] and she leaned in closer, " What about you "?
He shrugged, " I've never thought about it ". Iris nodded as she got up, " That's alright. You can just tell me next time ". He raised an eyebrow, " What do you mean next time "?
Iris pouted slightly as she patted his head, " It's gonna take a while before you understand how cruel this world is. So whenever you're crying, I'll be here reading my book ".
And true to his word, he did come more often but he refused to let himself cry or feel bad about what others said or did to him just so Iris wouldn't be able to rub it in his face and he was quite sure she would.
Then her trips to the studio kept reducing and he kept seeing less of her until she ultimately disappeared. He thought it was due to school but he kept working. Whenever he was about to give up, he'd remember Iris mocking him and calling him an ugly crier.
So he pushed himself and it finally happened, he made his debut after two years of intensive training. Ironically enough, he was offered his first major role as the villain of the story. Many around him tried to discourage him from taking the role saying he'd be stuck playing those kind of roles for the rest of his career, he didn't mind it though.
Then his agent advised him to make a new name for his acting career so why not use the words of the conversation that reignited his love for acting, Justice. And the superhero name he never got to tell her, Speedwell.
And the movie was a hit and started the launch of his career. But now, he'd found her or at least she'd found him and that was good enough for him. Justice couldn't help but smile to himself at the thought, when he suddenly wrinkled his nose as he felt something on his face.
" What do you think he's dreaming about Remi "? Justice's eyes fluttered open and saw Iris poking his cheek with her slender finger. He smiled as he caught her finger and kissed her finger that was on his cheek.
Iris quickly retracted her hand and turned red, taking a step back " What was that for "? Justice just turned in his seat and smiled, " Just making sure this isn't a dream ".
