*Sigh*
"What's with the long sigh?" Zachary asked.
"I really want to go to the beach." I started to melt on Zachary's shoulder's. It was the day after we started walking together again and we were making our way back after school ended.
"This again? Don't worry we'll be able to go together on the weekends." Zachary tried to reassure me.
"What's that? We're going to the beach this weekend?" Zofia peeked around our backs.
Should we even invite Zofia to the beach? I don't even have her in my contacts for my phone. So even if I did want her to go, then I'd have to go through the hassle of trying to add her to my contacts. And that would mean I have to ask her if I can have her number. And . . . AGH too much to think about. I'll just stay quiet about it.
"Would you like to come to the beach with us?" Zachary you traitor! She wasn't supposed to know about the beach! How do I turn this situation around for myself?
"I don't know if she should go with us. I heard the weather is going to be blazing during the weekends and Zofia wears all those layers." Technically, she wears that jacket all the time and a pair of jeans as well. I'm confident that's all her closet is filled with.
"It can be pretty hot yeah, but I could just take my clothes off." No shame whatsoever!? "But, I'd have to choose between hanging out with my other friends or with you guys." She said as she placed her hand on her cheek.
Oh yeah, Zofia had those friends at the ramen restaurant. I forgot how many there were because I barely looked over to where she was sitting and they all sounded the same. Well, there won't be a difference if she decides to come to the beach with us.
"Where are you going with your friends?" I asked curiously. Not for any personal information, just curiosity.
"The beach as well." Wow, I can't even find how to make fun of that. It's just a bruh moment.
"Is it the same one we're going to?" I continued looking a little bit more tilted.
"Yes, are you insisting you want my friends to hang out with you guys as well?"
"What? N-"
"Of course, the more the merrier. Going to the beach alone isn't fun so going with a lot will be even better!" Zachary cut me off.
"Oh that'll be perfect! I'll tell them about this then and introduce them to you as well!" Ugh, I can't fight two against one. I'm sure this is what they would say if I would interject the idea.
'Uh, if you don't want more people to go then you should just go by yourself.' Zofia would say looking disappointed and disgusted at the same time.
'Yeah, we don't need to hang out with losers who doesn't like seeing new people' Zach would add on with the same look as Zofia but with added aggression and anger.
I would just have to wait until I see these guys on the weekend and then do what I wanted to do on the beach in the first place.
It's finally Saturday, 11 o'clock. I wore a flower button up and swim shorts along with sandals. I brought sunglasses just in case I want to look cool. Or you know, if the sun gets in my eyes.
I was the first person here at the beach. Waking up two hours in advance to prepare and check if everyone knows where to go. Zofia got here next with her friends. She wore her same jean jacket with her black jeans. Did she even bring clothes for the beach? Her friends were behind her and I was kind of expecting something else not going to lie.
"Hi Lanathy. I should introduce you to some of my friends." She motions her hand towards a lady with sweatpants and a tank top as well as a baseball hat. She looks like she woke up unprepared as well because her hair is indeed a mess. "This is Angelica, Angelica this is Lanathy." Angelica looked at me. From the top to the bottom for around two seconds before introducing herself with her name.
"Sup Lanathy. Nice to meet you."
"Same here. . ." We shook hands. I'm most likely going to forget her name.
Then there was a girl with her jacket tied around her waist she wore a plain grey sweater and dark blue jeans. Her hair looked messy as well. . .
"And this here is Rosalie."
"Yo." She kept her hands in her pockets while saying that.
"Y-yo. . ."
Where is Zachary when you need him. This is super awkward with me here.
"Hey Lanathy, how long did you know Zofia for?" The tank top woman asked.
"Not long. I met her a few days ago but she will never leave me alone."
"Hey, I leave you alone! It's just that we keep inconveniently bumping into each other." I can hardly believe that.
"How about you? How long have you known Zofia for?" I reply back to Angelica.
"Heh, why don't you take a guess?" She says acting smug.
How would I know? I've never even seen you with Zofia or at all! "I don't know? Since Elementary?"
"Bzzz! Try again!" She seems to be having fun.
"I give up just tell me."
"Aw, no fun. I've known her for four years, so since middle school." Wow, I would've never guessed that one buddy.
Christ Zachary. I don't want this small talk. Hurry up and get your ass over here or I'm literally going to beat you up.
After 10 minutes of idle chattering. Zachary came and we had to re-introduce Zofia's friends to him. He was sweating as well. He was probably running. He came to the beach with swim shorts as well and a sports T-shirt.
We setup bath towels on the sand and propped up an umbrella. I rest under the shade after all of that standing. Everyone took off their clothes revealing their bathing suits and charged in the water after putting on their sun screen. I can see Zachary doing laps around the ocean.
"Hm? Zofia, do you not have a swimming suit?" Zofia sat stood next to me in the shade while I was sitting and enjoying the view.
"No, I have it on right now it's just . . . It's kind of embarassing taking off your clothes in front of people." Her face flushed a little upon saying that. My face jumped a bit as well.
"What happened to, 'I can just take my clothes off' talk from earlier hmm?" So she's all bark and no bite?
"Could you, look away then?"
"Uh, sure." I turned to look at the buildings.
. . .
"Ok, let's go into the water then!" Her voice was pumped up.
"A-Alright then." I stood up and walked over to the water.
I would usually have said no and wanted to relax in the shade. But it was as if I was pulled by a magnet. She was just wearing a normal bathing suit and I've seen her face many times before. Something about it this time made me feel like I was with someone who I could follow without a question.
