"What?!" The seemingly calm individual, one with grey-black hair, loses his composure for a moment.
Noctis nods grimly.
"That explains why he is so interested in this kid." The laziness all but disappeared from the white haired man.
"It does, we shall talk about this when the whole council is present. For now, all in favor of Noctis and Sierra venturing into Dicathen?" The grey haired man, who obviously had a lot of authority, spoke.
Not a single hand stayed down, albeit Jason seemed hesitant.
"It is decided then. Noctis, Sierra." Said individuals perked up, "Bring our champion here and ensure his safety."
"Of course."

~Back in Dicathen~~
Arthur Leywin POV :
Lances Mica and Aya decided to stay at the Academy and help the staff and students.
Bairon wrapped what was left of his brother in a shroud and informed he would be making a detour to his family house, all the while glaring daggers through me and Fayden.
"ARTHUR! FAYDEN!" I snap my neck towards the direction of the familiar voice.
Soon enough I notice my family along with the Helstea's waving at me from behind the gates.
Even from here I could see the concern etched on their faces, and judging by Ellie's red eyes she had been crying.
"Am I allowed to talk to my family?" I request, my voice back to what it was as my time as King Grey.
Olfred nodded, "I will take you and your brother to them."
And with but a flick of his wrist another coal knight arose from the ground and picked Fayden's prone form up, gently.
We walk to my family, with the knight holding Fayden over his shoulder in such a manner that his face was visible to them.
Instantly my mothers face paled as she expected the worst.
"Don't worry about him, he lost his cool after....anyways he overworked himself and fell unconscious."
My mother released a sigh of relief upon hearing that, but dad spoke, "What happened in there?"
"I don't know much other than there was an attack at Xyrus."
He nodded, accepting it. But then his gaze fell to the shackles on me and Fayden, and he spoke up again, "Why are you two cuffed?"
I open my mouth to speak, thinking up of a watered down version to tell in front of my Mother and sister, but my voice got caught in my throat.
It's then that I notice the female lance heading our way with an open scroll in her hands.
Upon arriving within earshot she reveals the contents of the scroll, "The council has decreed that Fayden Leywin, son of Alice Leywin and Reynolds Leywin be stripped of his title as a mage and his mana core restrained due to his show of excessive violence. Arthur Leywin, due to inconclusive circumstances you too shall be incarcerated until further judgement. Effective immediately."
There were three distinct reactions to the Lances words.
The first, by the curiously ignorant, gazed at the two of us with perplexion, studying us, and wondering how two 13 year olds were capable of such destruction.
The second was made by the fools in the crowd, the ones who blindly believed whatever the council tells them. They glared at us in contempt, and judging from the whispers, they somehow blame us for this entire fiasco.
Do they even hear themselves?
The third, one which I only expected from my family, came from most of the students and staff of Xyrus academy.
But since my family was the closest, I heard them the most clearly, "Incarcer-your honor this must be a mistake." Mother spoke up.
"Yes, I'm certain of it. My sons would never...he must have had a reason for doing so."
"He did have a reason."
At my words they whipped their heads towards me, "He had to watch as his dearest friend died in his arms. I'd reckon something like that would piss him off, he does have a temper."
Mother let out a soft gasp and covered her mouth with her hand.
Ellie looked horrified by the entire ordeal.
And father had a face of understanding.
"What did he do?" He asked.
"You're better off not knowing." I reply.
The DC were pretty vocal in their disagreement too, mainly Kathyln.
"This makes no sense whatsoever! IF it wasn't for the two of them, there wouldn't be anyone to save!"
She marched towards us, her eyes burned with barely contained anger, and the slight tears in her eyes indicated her frustration, or was it sadness?
"I will see to it that my mother and father rescind this decree at-"
Lance Varay interrupted, "Your father and mother were the ones, along with the greysunders that voted in favor of this decree."
Curtis comes forward and pulls his sister back, all the while whispering something into her ears.
"Can I speak to my family one last time before you take us away?"
Receiving a terse nod from the female Lance I turn towards my parents.
I put a mask on, a wide grin framing my face, "Don't look so down guys. Everything will be fine once this misunderstanding is cleared up."
My mask seemed ineffective as they caught on to the lie, "You honestly have no idea if either of you are ever coming back are you?"
Mother's voice broke as she said that.
"Y-you two aren't going anywhere right? This is only a joke right? right?"
Fresh tears leaked from her eyes as she tries her best not to break down in sobs.
I bite my lips, as small tears of frustration grew in my eyes.
What would you do if you were in my place Fayden?
I almost chuckle imagining what he would have done.
'Don't worry, if push comes to shove I will take my idiot of a brother and [Void Step] to you guys, then we can move to the next continent and live there in hiding'
Or would he forsake his sarcastic façade for once and answer seriously?
'I'm not going to sugarcoat my words, there is a big chance we will not come back. But know this, if anything I will make sure Arthur returns. That's a promise.'
I hear the conjuration of another stone knight, and speak to them one last time, "We will definitely return, that is a promise."
And I turn back just in time that they didn't notice the tears gathering in my eyes.
Just then the knight lifts me up and we fly away.
The city of Xyrus getting smaller and smaller in my vision.
