Sigh.
Its not like I can do anything about it right now.
Might as well go along with it.
As he stands there without his sword drawn I speak, "I would equip my sword if I were you professor,"
He looks at me weirdly.
"Just a suggestion," I shrug.
You do you I guess.
I conjure and throw multiple ice spikes towards him.
Who uses his fire magic to block it, enshrouding his surrounding in mist.
Fell right into it.
Just because I'm a conjurer doesn't mean I can't fight melee.
Thinking that I rush towards him, materializing a sword in my hand.
As he sees me come out of the mist with a sword in hand, he wastes no time to call his own from his dimension ring.
He imbues his sword with fire attribute mana, in hopes to melt mine.
I'm not that weak.
Blue fire dances around his sword for a second before it completely covers it, yet the ice construct in my hand shows no signs of melting.
Noticing this he frowns, before charging another spell in his hand.
Imbuing some more mana into my sword I jump backwards, leaving mt sword attached to his.
And before he can launch his spell I cast mine.
"Explode,"
Now normally that's a fire spell, but nothing says I can't integrate it into an ice one.
Its simple really, instead of fire the opponent is buffeted with small, yet sharp pieces of ice.
And that's exactly what happened.
Although I reckon the fire spell he was preparing might spare him the worst of it.
But even then when he showed his face it was littered with cuts.
Damn, even weakened its that effective.
'He looks pissed.'
'Well he did get his face cut like a hundred times.'
He starts running to me with his sword ablaze with much more fire than before.
'He's not holding back anymore is he?'
'Nope, he's going all out.'
He swings his sword wildly, without any precision.
Come on, you're just making yourself look pathetic.
Turns out he wasn't just swinging wildly, he only needed an excuse to come near me.
So that he could fire a spell point blank.
Sneaky bastard!
So I did something stupid and Arthur-like.
I tried an experimental spell mid-fight.
A multi layered ice barrier with an air vacuum in between the layers.
As of now it has no name.
Placing my arms in front of me, with my forearms acting as a shield, I conjured the barrier.
But it could only do so much without the vacuum.
The right side of the shield shattered and my hand suffered the full blow of the blue fire.
I felt my arm burn as a smell of burning flesh wafted through the area.
I should definitely get that checked out.
Covering the wound with ice I turn towards the professor.
"I believe this is your win. In the meanwhile I really should get this checked out." I say holding up my arm.
He nods at me, a smug look on his face.
With that I leave, not knowing what my brother would do to him in retribution.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Turns out my burn will take at least 4 days to heal.
Damn!
'Why did you even volunteer?'
'It was either me or some other DC member, and seeing Feyrith get beaten so easily I didn't want them to get hurt.'
'Your brother would probably kick his ass.'
'One, I know, but I also know he won't volunteer unless absolutely necessary. Two, language!'
He grumbles a bit before saying.
'So you did all that because you didn't want that girl to get hurt?'
'What makes you say that?'
'Well she was the only DC 'member' there other than your brother.'
'Was she?'
'Admit it, you like her.'
'Your not even old enough to understand what liking someone romantically is Zeke.'
'I'm old enough'
'Whatever lets you sleep better at night.'
Thus we bickered our way into the next class, which by the way was artificing.
As I find and make my way towards Nathan I see Arthur talking with a green haired girl.
"Sup," I say as I sit beside him.
"Fayden! You alright?" He asks.
"Yeah, yeah I'm perfectly fine," I wave him away.
"That was a pretty nasty burn you know?" He says.
"How would you know, you were seated pretty back," I fire back.
"True, I couldn't see it per se, but I could still smell burning flesh," He says.
"I'll be fine by the end of the week Nate, relax" I reply.
"Fine, just try not get into any more fights before you're healed okay?"
"No promises."
Our professor chose that moment to barge in.
"Greetings plebians!"
Oh god, not this nutcase again.
I slump down and try to hide my face.
Nathan notices this and looks at me confused.
I mouth 'Later' to him, to which he nods and turns back to Gideon.
"You may bask in the honor of having me, Professor Gideon , as your teacher for this class!"
Narcissism much?
He notices Arthur and presses his palms to his cheeks, "EEEEEEEHHH?! Why, if it isn't Arthur Leywin?! I had no idea you'd be in my class!"
That's exactly why I hid my face.
Nathan looks at me with an expression of understanding.
Then he goes on bragging about things he invented in the last 20 years.
Can't I just fall asleep?
'You'd be in trouble if you did.'
'Thank you for your advice O wise one!'
'I'm just trying to be helpful'
He grumbles.
I know, but this is driving me mad
That's when an owl flew in and sat on Arthurs shoulder.
'He's strong...'
'Even you think that?'
'Yes, but not as strong as me obviously.'
'Well someone's arrogant.'
"Hoo, looks like Director Cynthia is beckoning you," Gideon says, "Guess you won't be witnessing the rest of my life changing lecture today. Off you go brat!"
Noooo, take me with you!
Wait, more importantly, what exactly did he do that the Director herself called him?
Noticing my look of confusion Nathan elaborated, "He beat up Professor Geist once you left,"
"I see,"
Dumbass.
And then I spent the rest of the lecture struggling to stay awake.
_______________________________________________________________________________
I had my lunch way faster than normal today, I wanted to see if I could do something about my arm.
I didn't want to miss Team-Fighting Mechanics.
Therefore I left for my room, not before muttering a 'I'll be right back' to Nathan.
In my room I opened the bandages, and damn did it look bad.
Even if it heals it will probably scar.
But could I heal it enough to be able to fight properly?
Well I can try, mother is an emitter so its definitely possible.
Other than the fact I have no idea how she does it...
Shut up me!
Anyways, time to see if I can make it work.
Placing my left hand over the burn I will my mana out.
It does nothing, other than waste mana.
Damn.
Any other ideas?
'Maybe try it with Nacht?'
'Huh, why not.'
So I activate 1st phase, but instead of activating either of the abilities, I will nacht to flow in my burn.
It does nothing for a few minutes, and just as I'm about to deactivate it, my arm catches on fire.
A greenish black fire.
But I don't have time to ponder on that as a searing pain keeps me rather occupied.
It actually hurts more than the actual burn hurt.
In my pain I deactivate first phase.
Yet the fire still remains.
If I had known it would hurt so much, I wouldn't have done it.
I just hope I don't fall unconscious.

Authors Note.
Now, before anyone complains about Fayden not winning against Geist, tell me would you rather have him absolutely decimate Geist now or would you like him to torture a certain someone far more brutally and for way longer than Arthur did?
Okay? We cool?
Good.
Anyways I guess I should apologize, for I didn't update yesterday.
But I have valid reasons!
I was sick on Saturday, well most of Friday and Saturday (Hell I still am sick, somewhat.), so I couldn't write then.
And on Sunday I had to go out, something to do about meeting my cousins fiance I guess in western terms.
So I didn't have the time to write the chapter.
Now, I know it looks like I'm making up excuses, but you trust me right?
Actually don't answer that...
