Chapter 60 - Disciplinary Committee

I don't go back to the dining hall, instead I go back to our room.

I had figured out who Arthur was a few days ago but never confronted him.

From right hand to best friend to brother.

What's next? I'm gonna become the godfather of his unborn child?

I feel like this is too much of a coincidence.

Is there a higher power responsible for our reincarnation?

If so are there more of us?

Before I could think further I hear the doors opening.

"Nathan?"

"Yeah its me, where did you run off to back there?" He asks.

"To fix something." I reply.

"What? Your relation with the student council president?" He says as he closes the door.

"So you figured it out?" I reply.

"When I saw you going after her," He says.

"Ah yeah that would give it away," I say.

"So...?"

"Yeah I'll tell you about it, so be prepared to stay up whole night." I say and he nods.

"You see Nate-Can I call you Nate?"

He shrugged, "Sure, why not."

"Alright, You see Nate, it all began when we awakened when we were three-" I began, but was cut off by him.

"You awakened at three!"

"Yes, and there's more surprises incoming, so try to hold your questions back until I finish okay?" I say.

He nodded in affirmation

And so I began the retelling of my story, with some parts removed of course.

Like the fact that I'm a reincarnation, or Noctis' warning, or us being quadra elemental mage

It's safe to say he was stunned.

"So you two a thing or something?" He asks.

"Of all the things I said, you ask me that?" I reply.

"That's the easiest to understand," He comments.

I chuckle, "Yeah, that it is. And no, we're not a thing. I see her a sister figure, on the other hand her and Arthur might just become a thing,"

"Ponder on that while you try to sleep," I say.

"Compared to your life, mine is boring." He comments.

"You're better off having a boring life than one like mine," I say before I fall asleep.

The next day we had out first meeting with the Disciplinary Committee.

I wait till the hallways are clear before approaching the door.

I open it to find a mana beasts face inches from mine, roaring at me.

Taking this as a challenge Zeke comes out and roars back, Sending the lion like mana beast whimpering.

I raise an eyebrow at Zeke.

Good job.

I know.

"I told you, it wouldn't work. On the other hand Grawder came back whimpering," I hear a voice speak.

"Is that the standard greeting for a new member?" I ask.

"According to them this is to test what we're made off, since the director herself chose us." Arthur Continued.

"Huh? Makes sense," I say.

I look around the room and see two more members standing there.

One of them had dull grey hair coming down in bangs and narrow slit-like eyes accompanied by a smile, which seems more mocking than genuine.

"My name is Kai Crestless a fourth year, but you can call me Kai," I hear him speak.

"Okay Kai, I am Fayden Leywin, and this is my bond, Zeke." I say while pointing towards Zeke.

"Bah! Does the director only chose delicate pretty boys?" I hear the other, a female although more masculine than most of the boys I know.

"Pardon?" I ask.

"I'm saying that you're a fragile boy, nothing more," She answers.

"I wouldn't call me fragile, but alright," I shrug and turn away.

"Don't mind Doradrea, she's like that to most of us," Kai says as he leads me further inside.

"Come on both of you, the others are inside."

"We didn't get any details about you two, so everybody is pretty curious, " Kai said.

Before we enter the room Doradrea turns back with mischievous smirk.

I want no part in this.

I barely manage to evade her, but Arthur wasn't so lucky.

She grabbed his arm and barged into the room, "Everyone! They're here!,"

Inside I see 5 other people, two of them familiar, the rest not so much.

"I knew it," Curtis began, "It really is you two,"

"Makes sense you'd be here Curtis," I say.

He looks at the whimpering Grawder and comments, "I knew Kai took Grawder to scare you two but, somehow he's the one who's afraid."

"Ah so this is your bond. Wait is this the same world lion you bought in the auction all those years ago?" Arthur asks.

"Yeah he is, we formed an equals contract last week when he reached A class." Curtis replied.

"Congrats on that, Curtis," I say.

"Thank you, and welcome to the Disciplinary Committee,"

"You two know him?" Doradrea asked.

"Not just him, I see another familiar face here," I say looking at Curtis' sister, Kathyln Glayder.

"Hello Kathyln," I say.

"Its good to see you again Fayden...and you Arthur." She says.

"Aren't you forgetting someone?" A blond haired elf said.

Now that I think of it, he does seem awfully familiar.

"Long time no see you two," He continues.

"Who the hell are you?" I ask.

He gains a tick mark at my question, "Its me! Feyrith Ivysaar!"

"Ah! Annoying blond one!" I exclaim causing the others to burst out laughing, other than Kathyln who turned backwards.

"W-what?!"

"FeyFey!" Arthur says, finally recognizing him.

The 4 of them behind us, who had finally stopped laughing fell into another round of uncontrolled laughter.

"IT'S FEYRITH!" He shouts.

"Anyways, I may be a first year like you guys, but I'm still older, so please treat me with respect," He says.

No, I don't think I will.

"Sure, sure! Man it feels like yesterday when I knocked you out with one punch," Arthur says.

"You're doing that on purpose aren't you?!" He responds, enraged

"Totally," I add.

Before he could actually attack us another voice interrupted, "It looks like we're the only strangers then huh, Theo?"

Turning at the source of the voice I see a girl few years older than us, with flaming red hair.

"I'm Claire Bladeheart, 5th year battle mage, and also the leader of this ragtag group." She introduces herself.

That name sounds familiar.

"Bladeheart?" Arthur blurts out, "Are you perhaps related to Kaspian Bladeheart?"

"Oh, you know my uncle?" She asked.

"N-No. I've just heard many great things about Kaspian Bladeheart's strength from my father," Arthur replied.

Nice save.

"Well my uncle started training me as soon as I awakened, so a lot of my techniques are similar to his. But I'm happy you recognize the name," She says.

Yeah, one would recognize the name of someone who tried to kill him, although unintentionally.

The black haired boy advances to Arthur, Theo was it?

"Seems like the Disciplinary Committee has stooped low enough to recruit twerps,"

These so called twerps could beat your ass 10 different ways.

He extended an arm to Arthur, who accepted the handshake.

Before Arthur adopted an expression of shock.

I could sense magic being used on him, earth based magic.

Gravity?

Seeing Arthur stand there almost unaffected Curtis whistled, while Feyrith looked troubled.

Breaking the handshake Theo commented, "Not bad,"

"Guess there is more to you than a pretty face," Kai says.

"Feyrith over there fell face first into the ground when Theo did that to him," He finishes.

"I am a conjurer and Arthur is an augmenter! Please don't compare me to a brute like him!" He protests.

"Oh? I'm a conjurer as well, lets see how I fare." I say, almost as a challenge.

I hold out my arm to him, who smirked before grabbing it.

I feel my weight increasing multiple times as the floor around me begins to crack.

He's strong.

But not strong enough.

I use my Ice magic to augment my body.

Feels like ice is flowing down my veins.

Its oddly pleasant.

Staring at his eyes I dare him to increase the output.

He doesn't disappoint, as the gravity magic on me increases even further.

My lips curl to a smirk as ice begins to form over my body, in a sort of protective armor.

But for now, its use was to divert the force of gravity.

Tendrils of ice arose from my legs, and attached themselves to the floor.

Seemingly satisfied Theodore releases his magic, and my hand.

Dispersing the ice I turn back, "So, Feyrith, what were you saying agai- What?"

Seeing the looks of surprise on their faces I stop.

"I think they are surprised by seeing you conjure ice over your body as armor," Arthur said, the only one unaffected.

"Huh, is it that surprising?" I ask.

"It is for them."

"I though you said you were a conjurer..." Curtis trailed off.

"I am one,"

"Then how did you do that?" He asked.

I shrug, "I can't give away all my secrets now can I?" I say.

"Now, now, enough screwing around! We have to put our game faces on for the club rush announcement," Claire announces, "This will be the very first time the Disciplinary Committee will show their faces to the student body,"

"Wait what?" I say.

"I'd better go then," I finish before turning away.

"What do you mean?" Claire asks.

Turning my face back I speak, "Didn't the Director tell you? I'm not officially a member of the Disciplinary Committee, a secret member if you will,"

And thus I take my leave.

"Where were you?" Nathan asks as I take my seat.

"I got lost on the path of life," I say.

(A/N: Yes I quoted Kakashi there, sue me)

He doesn't say anything after that.

"Now that all of the rules of the club rush has been stated, the student council would like to formally introduce you to a committee handpicked by the director to resolve and prevent disputes among students, as well as enforce punishment for troublemakers," Tessia commented,

"For the sake of upholding peace and safety for all students, please join me in welcoming them...The Disciplinary Committee!"

Now, before anyone says Fayden is a conjurer not an augmenter let me say this,

1) The line between Conjurers and Augmenters blur as one progresses their core and Fayden is solid yellow.

2) He didn't exactly augment his body, he conjured the armor, well boots in this case, around his legs so that he doesn't lose balance, or hurt his legs.
