Chapter 2 - Chapter One Part Two: Don't Cross Duchess Gremory!

Duchess Gremory walked towards Leviathan's room, quietly humming a song to herself. It was still quite early, so she didn't expect Leviathan to be up anyway, but it was time for her breakfast.

Moira knocked on Leviathan's door, "Good moooorning, Leviathan!" She exclaimed, "It's time for your breakfast!"

Moira waited a few moments before entering Leviathan's room, though was surprised to find the room empty.

Deciding that Leviathan must be somewhere else in the castle, Moira began to search around, however, after almost an hour of searching, she finally gave up.

"So, it's time to call him, then…"

"Yeah, don't worry Misses Rai, I'll help you out! I mean, you've got a relic from God, but it'll be fine," Leviathan explained.

"I still have no idea what you've just explained," Rai stated, "What's this about a reincarnation system?"

"Oh! It's like your playing cards! Each Devil has a set of cards! I'm a King of Hearts!" Leviathan exclaimed, "You get stronger the higher number you are, but your potential is also lower! And Aces can change into any number!"

"I see…" Rai murmured, "I still don't quite understand what's all going on, but I just want this all to be over,"

"Oh, Misses Rai, it'll never be over as long as you've got Ascalon!" Leviathan replied.

"Then take it out of me!"

"That would kill you! Mortal bodies can't handle the immense power that is given off when a relic is removed!"

"Right… Of course," Rai murmured, "Why would it ever be that simple?"

"It's a good thing I caught you though, otherwise you'd be worked to the bone! Or something like that!" Leviathan exclaimed.

"Eh? Why would that happen?"

"You've got a relic, and the Angels always work their people so hard! Fallen Angels just kill them all…"

Rai pressed on her temples, "Lord, just let me wake up from this dream…"

"Oh! Misses Rai, do you wanna become my Ace? It'll make sure those stinky Fallen Angels don't keep attacking you! They'll be too scared!"

"Fine! Whatever, make me an Ace! Just let this whole thing be over as soon as possible!" Rai exclaimed.

"Alright… But I warn you, this'll reincarnate you as a Devil… You'll have a very similar lifespan to us," Leviathan explained.

Rai was silent for a moment, clearly thinking over the deal before nodding, "Fine, do it, before I change my mind,"

Leviathan murmured an "Okay," before taking out a small playing card, it was red all over with highlights of gold. It hovered in front of Rai for a moment before zooming towards Rai, phasing through her.

Rai was faced with the greatest pain she had ever felt as Leviathan murmured a chant in the background, it was complete agony, as though she had gone to Hell herself to be punished.

Rai yelled out in pain for a moment, before it abruptly ended. Rai looked to Leviathan. She wiped her forehead, which was already covered in sweat, and her shirt stuck to her body for the same reason.

"What. The hell. Was that?"

"Weeelll, I could get into the whole process, which requires that your soul is ripped from your body before it is shoved back in, very forcefully, before tearing from your physical form again to-"

"Okay, I've heard enough, what happens now?"

Leviathan started giggling, which was cut short by a snort, and she quickly hid her embarrassment and replied, "Now what happens is I find out how to get this ring off my finger! It doesn't even look cool!"

Leviathan showed Rai her ring finger, a ring firmly in place there, with a sort of seal engraved on it, "Seal of Somethin' somethin'!" Leviathan giggled, "Sent me aaaaall the way here!"

"I see…" Rai murmured, glancing at the ring for a moment before turning her attention back to Leviathan, "Anyway… You're Leviathan, right?"

"Yep!" Leviathan responded, "That's my name!"

"Hrmm… Why don't I give you a nickname then? Since I assume we'll be working together a lot in the future,"

"Ohhh! A nickname? I don't get those very often! Except when people are scared and come up with a spooky nickname for me!"

"Hmm… How about… Levi? I just think it's a nice shortcut from Leviathan, what do you think?" Rai asked.

"Oooh! I like it!" Leviathan exclaimed, "And I can call you… Err… Uhm… Rai's already kinda short, hmmm…"

Rai stared for a moment before laughing uncontrollably, "Ahaha… Y'know, Levi, I think we got off on the wrong foot before," She started, "Let's work together more in the future,"

"You knoooow, as my new Ace, you've gotta promise to protect me now and forever!" Leviathan half-joked, "So that I know you won't just run off on me!"

Rai chuckled and half-heartedly said, "Fine, fine… I promise to protect you, now and forever, Levi,"

"So what's Hell like?" Rai asked, "We're always told Hell is a 'bad' place, but I can't imagine such a 'bad' place could harbor someone like you, Levi,"

"Oh, I 'unno, actually, I just stay in my room and hang out with Misses Gremory!" Leviathan said, then gnawing on a graham cracker.

"Who is… 'Misses Gremory'?" Rai asked.

"She's the awesomest bestest person ever! I love her!" Leviathan exclaimed, "She's always playing with me and putting me to bed and feeding me!"

"So what's the plan now?" Rai asked, "What are we doing now?"

"Weeeell, we gotta find a way back to Hell! Most Devils can make portals from here to Hell, but my magic is reaaal weak, so I can't!"

Rai heaved a sigh, "Well, looks like we got our work cut out for us, huh, Levi?"

"Mmm, I'm sure Misses Gremory will come for me eventually!" Leviathan exclaimed, "For now though… We could get sweets!"

Moira glared at Milicar, "I know you had something to do with this! Your clan is always to blame for these things!" Moira yelled, "Leviathan doesn't just 'wander off' as you put it, you did something and you're going to tell me!"

Milicar scoffed, "And what are you-" He was cut off by Moira grabbing him by the throat and throwing him against the wall.

"Tell me what you did with my Leviathan or I will rain down a punishment so fierce that the Asmodeus clan will never be able to recover," Moira growled, "I'll never forgive you if you did something to her,"

Milicar began to chuckle and looked to Moira, "She's gone, plain and simple, it's a shame too… But she was the hot topic of the adults, so I had to do something,"

Moira kicked Milicar with the heel of her high heels- right in his eye, "Shut up!"

Milicar reeled in pain, falling on his back and clutching his eye, "Ah- You bitch! This is no way to treat a King of the Underworld!"

"I wouldn't care if you were the Great Lucifer himself, nobody, and I mean nobody, gets between me and my Leviathan," Moira said, "And anyone who does… They'll meet an untimely demise… Now get out of my sight, you weasly worm,"

Milicar scurried off, one hand still clutching his eye. He glared at Moira once more before disappearing from sight.

With her frustrations vented, Moira pulled out a seat from a nearby table, sat down, and began to weep.

Having seen the entire situation unfold, Seiraig emerged from the shadows, "Rough day?" He asked.

Moira sighed, "A bit worse than rough, I'd say…" She murmured, "Can you grab me a bottle of wine?"

"Will do," Seiraig responded, disappearing for a few moments and reappearing with a bottle of wine, "Here we are,"

Seiraig set down the wine bottle in front of Moira, "You know, I've never drank with anyone from the Gremory Clan,"

Moira conjured up two wine glasses, "Well then, it seems I'll be the first to drink with you, cheers,"

Moira poured both glasses and handed Seiraig one, to which he gratefully took, "Well now, you know I often lurk around… Undetected… Invisible, even…"

"Yeah… What of it…" Moira started, "You haven't been peeping on me, have you, Seiraig?" She half-joked, "Seriously though, you haven't been, have you?"

"No, no, no, I have more self-respect and decency than that," Seiraig responded, "I bring that up because- Well there wasn't time to bring this up with you before you got all pissy and went off on Milicar…"

"Mhmm… Get to the point…"

"Alright, I'll just say, I know where Leviathan is…" Seiraig said, "So, do you want to get back to her?"

Moira dropped the wine glass on the floor and stared directly into Seiraig's eyes, "Do you even have to ask?"

"Thought so… Then… Shall we?"
