I HAVEN'T THOUGHT ABOUT THAT YET, "No idea. Golden eyes and blood-red hair. I can't think much about it. It's strange. Like, golden eyes are a rare feature only seen in the north, more precisely on the Von der Meer house. Whereas blood-red hair, or red hair overall, is only seen in the south. North and South. I'm partially part of both, but mother didn't have golden eyes, and dad doesn't have red hair either. So, I really have no idea."
"Could it be related to the first wielders of shadow magic centuries ago? The first Waldmüller of your northern ancestry. The records of that time are faint, so, I can't be sure. But it must mean something," he's right.
A nod, "You think my grandparents might know something?"
Jay tilted his head to the side, "I'm sure they might. All houses have their detailed family tree designed in their vaults. We can try to learn more about it with them," he pursed his lips, "but will you feel comfortable going there? I mean, they still cut ties with you after your father married the mistress. Even though you were innocent and had nothing to do with that."
Is he worried? "It's not like I can run away from it, can I? Besides, I'm aware that if someone must know more about my power, it's them. I got it from their part, after all. And I don't think they will reject to help me, since the magic long gone in their bloodline was awakened in me. Also, I'm still their granddaughter, right?! They can't hate me for what my father decided, can they?"
He hugged me tight, making me feel safer, "You sound anxious," Jay whispered, petting my back. "I'm here, okay? Don't worry. Everything will be alright."
Closing my eyes, I breathed his fragrance and it was more than my soap, "Your scent is calming," I whispered caressing his hair.
"Of your soap?"
"No. I mean your scent. The scent that you emanates naturally. Everyone has a unique scent, and as my nose is quite sensitive," since all thunder magic wielder have their sense of smell and hearing extremely heightened, "most scents can be annoying, but not yours. Yours calms me down."
He tightened the hug, pressing our bodies together softly, "I didn't knew about that, but I'm glad that I can calm you down like that," then Jay kissed the side of my head. "Any time you need to calm down, just hug me like this, it'll help you, and me."
"I wish I had met you five years ago, Jay."
Putting some distance between us, he smile, "Me too, Hope. That way, maybe you would have proposed to me, and not lost 5 years of your life on that ridiculous engagement," but as he pressed his lips together, I noticed a hint of sadness on him, "and would also have been able to meet my parents."
That made my heart ache, "I…" I don't know what to say. "I wish I had met them too. You think they would have liked me, Jay?" I decided not to insist on the matter, but the fact that his parents died some time during the last 5 years, meant it was still new. 5 years is not enough to heal from losing your parents, especially if they loved you.
"They would have loved you just like they loved me and my sister, Hope. I'm sure they would love to have you as their daughter-in-law, since they always wanted two more kids, but mom couldn't bear it, because giving birth to two at once asked too much of her." Jay then kissed my lips softly, "Not to mention that you are probably way beyond what they must have imagined my future wife to be."
His last words made me blush, "You are also far beyond what I ever imagined my future husband would be like."
"Of course, you wanted something around average and less than that," Jay mocked. "But you got me," he giggled to himself, "and I'm anything but average."
"That's for sure," I whispered with a dirty hint on it, and before I could do something to him, I got up, and asked for his hand. He gave me and got up as well, towering over me like in the ball, even with my heels. So, I looked up to him, "Dance with me!"
Jay chuckled softly, "It'll be my honor."
This is something I always saw couples do on the internet back on earth, and I always dreamed on doing it too. But well, I died before that. However, I learned the song they always dance to, Love Story by Indila, it's French, and I know how to speak it, but I'll just hum the song. After all, it would be complicated to explain what language I'm speaking, when they don't have it here.
"Follow me," I told him, and bought him closer. Then I began to hum the song only for the two of us to hear. And it was as if our thoughts were connected to each other because he knew exactly what to do. I didn't close my eyes this time, I had mine on his, and I sensed his on mine the whole time.
It was intimate, and it was sensible. Indeed, it was as if we were connecting to each other in a different level. A degree deeper. And I know I spoke thousands of things in my eyes, and I have the feeling he understood it all.
When I finished the song, he still held me in his arms. "You are the loveliest creature I've ever met in my life, Hope Ariella Bissonnette. By far, the most enchanting of all. From moment I heard of you seven months ago, I knew there was something else in you. And the closer I got from, the more hard it was to turn around," he whispered brushing his lips on my ear. "Until we got to this point, I'm too wrapped around you, and I don't think I'll ever be able to ran from this. Neither do I want to."
Annoyed by the enormous height difference between us even though I'm tall, I held up my skirt and jumped on him. Locking my legs around his waist, finally able to look at him without having to almost break my neck, and he held me by my hips. "Why are you so tall?" I gasped.
"Why are you so short?" He provoked smirking.
"I'm anything but short, okay? You are just," an avatar, "ridiculously tall. But I'm not complaining at all," I grinned, "it makes you even more attractive, if that's even possible. But it's still annoying, however I can be like this with you," I gestured to how I was wrapped on him like a little monkey, "and I like this position."
He gulped, "There you go, talking dirty again. And I'm the devil, hm? You devilish woman," Jay had that crazily sexy smile on again.
"Stop turning me on then, devil," it was the last thing I said before closing his mouth with mine, my hands already on his hair.
Jay's hands grasped my thighs and after sometime I felt my back hitting one side of the long table that was empty, as he towered over me again. "I'm glad you held your dress up, because I was about to tear this thing just to catch you like this. But you were bolder and did it first," he whispered as we begged for more air to breath.
"You're welcome," I whispered, and when I got to breath again, I slammed my lips on his.
"We should be eating," he mumbled.
"Oh, yes we should. But we won't because of the stupid deal we both refuse to break," and I didn't hid my annoyance.
He giggled, "I was talking about the literal food on the table, but yes, I also agree on that."
I gasped, "See what you are doing to me?"
Jay pressed his body on me and I felt how hard he was, then he bit my bottom lip, "See what you are doing to me?"
But before we could do anything, a knocked was heard on the door, and it startled me so much that in a second, I jumped from him and went to the farthest corner of the dining room. The magical smell of electricity in the air. "Oh my God, that scared the shit out of me!" I mumbled loud enough for him to hear.
Annoyed, Jay licked his lips, clenched his jaw, and passed his gloved slander fingers through his hair that was a hot mess thanks to me. Then he turned to the door, and I got a hold of myself and before he could opened it, I ran to my sit and acted as if nothing happened, fixing my hair and licking my lips, making the smell of my magic more pungent in the air.
"Who is it?" Well, he sure can look intimidating.
