WAVING MY HEAD, I STOPPED REMINISCING about my miserable life on earth and focused on the door of the dining room, then I opened. However, I did it at the same time as Jay did, so I ended up trembling and almost fell, but he held me, then closed the doors behind us.
"Sorry. I noticed you were standing out there for so long without coming in, so I just tried to see if you were okay," again, I could sense his eyes on me, even though I couldn't see them. "Are you okay?"
Taking a deep breath, I got on my feet again, "Yes. I was just lost in my thoughts." Even with the heels, I had to been on the tip of my toes to kiss him, but I did. "You smell good."
A sensual smile appeared on the side of his lips, "I used your soap again." Then he guided me and helped me with the chair on his right side. "You are incredibly hot, by the way."
Blushing, I smiled, "The same can be said to you. Your clothes mark all of your muscles very well, it's quite tempting."
"Dirty thoughts already, darling?" He said it in a low flirty voice. "Don't forget that the dinner tonight is this," he pointed to the plates in the table, "not me."
And the table was packed with food. All kinds of it.
"It took you a while," he said after a while.
"I was talking with Mari and she forgot to tell me you were waiting," I giggled softly. "Now I feel better."
He tilted his head, "Did you told her?"
"About my powers?" A nod. "Yes. She needed to know, I've kept it too long from her. Besides, I wanted her to know it from me first, since it'll probably spread soon."
Taking my plate, he efficiently cut all of my meet in small pieces, than put it in front of me again, and began to cut his. Then he took the wine and filled both of our glasses. "Hope, I have a question."
"Oh? What is it?" I blinked.
"How did you know you had shadow magic? I know we feel our magic within us, but we don't know what type it is until it manifests it. So, how did that happened?" I almost forgot about that.
I took a sip of the wine, "When I was 5 years old, my father took me and the bastards to a ball Duke Farhad Astarabadi threw for the Duchess' birthday," it was around the time I realized I had been reborn in the world of a novel I had read when I was still Anna. "I heard some mean comments about how my father loved his bastards more than me, and that made me annoyed, so I tried to get away from it."
"Did you get away of the ball then?" I did.
"That was all could do, and to my luck no one notice I wasn't there. Which wasn't very shocking, since as it was the ball of the Duke and the Duchess, there were many important people there. The daughter of a Count was nothing compared to them!" It was the day I met the Princess Alina and, the now Duke, Dylan Reverdin.
I was so fucking shocked to see them, and to realize where I had been reborn into, that I just ran away as fast as I could to the woods around the Duke's castle. Feeling suffocated by the realization and by the ridiculous amount of people there. At least, I hadn't seen any Von der Meer. Although I did see some northern kids, and people overall, meaning the Duke and the Duchess', and probably their children, were there somewhere.
"I ran to the woods, since it the only place I thought I could breath some air away from so many people. And let me tell you, I had never seen so many people from all the regions gathered in one single place. Even the Royal Princes and the Princess were there," sigh.
"Did you also met Dylan or Duke Luc?" The question was casual but there was a hit of something else in it. Maybe jealousy?
"I saw Dylan Reverdin from afar, since he was around Princess Alina like a puppy. But I didn't see any Von der Meer there!"
"No?"
"I mean, I know they were there. But I didn't see them. I ran away before I could see any of the members of house Von der Meer. Although I did meet some northern people. I could tell because of the hair," and the accent.
"Silver hair?" He smiled.
"Yep. Like yours. When I went to the woods, I thought I was alone, by there was boy there. Silver wavy hair, a little taller than me, seemed to be around my age, with chubby cheeks. He had his eyes covered with a tissue, and his hands were bleeding. I think he was one of the Knights' sons who came with them, and got lost. I felt sorry for the state he was in, so I helped him with his hands." I don't why, but I had really totally forgotten about this.
He took a sip of the wind, "How did you help him?"
"I teared the skirt of my dress apart and used it to covered the wounds on both of his hands. He didn't talk, so I think he might have been disabled, and I assumed he had hurt his eyes or were blind by how they were covered," he choked on the wine and I extended my hand to help him. "God's above, Jay. You should drink it slowly. Wine is not water."
"I… sorry, I got too excited with your story. So, keep going. I'm okay," he's such an idiot.
"Just, be careful," after taking a bite of my meat and eating a potato, I got back to the story. "The poor boy seemed to have ran miles into the forest, and stumble lots of times because he clearly wasn't able to see shit. So, his knees also seemed scratched, but before I could help him out, three grown men in black, panting, with daggers on their hands appeared. And when I saw that their eyes were on the boy, I put him behind me told him to stay put and don't move because I was going to protect him, and he seemed to hear me just as well."
"And what happened?" He asked with an amused grin on.
"The men began to talk shit to me, saying that they would kill me and then kill the boy, so my effort was useless and shit. And well, I got pissed. I was already pissed off because of all that I had heard in the ball about me," plus the realization of my situation, "so, I snapped. It all awakened at once. When they came at me, I used my telekinesis to throw the boy about ten to fifteen feet away from us, and electricity filled the air, darkening the sky and making some thunders fall down."
When I remember the rest, I gulped, not feeling so well. I drank more than a sip of the wine and ate slice of potato.
"And the shadow magic?"
Sigh, "It exploded."
He leaned forward, "Exploded?"
