ALTHOUGH THE ALCOHOL THEY HAVE HERE IN THE SOUTH isn't strong as the ones I was used to back on earth. Like, whiskey, vodka, and even some wines. However, as I heard that the ones produced back in the north are the best in the Kingdom, I ordered quite a bit of them for the ball and they arrived a week before I caught the shameless duo entangled with each other.
So, yeah, I'll be able to prove some good wine for once. Way better than those watery things they serve here.
Dean giggled softly, "I get it. Alcohol always helps me with things like that. I'm also looking forward to drinking the ones you brought from the north. But you have to be careful with this plan of yours, alright, Lady Hope?!"
"It hurts to see you getting wounded like that by the one who should protect you," Thomas said, holding my hands. "But whatever happens, we'll be here to heal you!"
"That's already the best help I could ask for from you. It's way better than bleeding to death. Be it externally or internally," I chuckled and they gave me a stern look. "Alright, I'll stop joking about it. Nonetheless, I'm honestly thankful for your help. I would probably be dead by now without you,", especially after the sections of torture down there, where father's dungeon is located.
There were countless times I was almost dying from what they did to me when I was a child. And the ones who saved me were always these two. I owe them my life.
"I just hope the ball will go smoothly tonight. I don't want any chaos caused by these donkeys trying to take my spotlight tonight with that pregnancy of hers," sigh. I put a smile on, trying to get more excited about everything, "And isn't the idea of a masquerade ball just wonderful?"
They nodded with a faint smile, "Will you sing tonight, my Lady?" Marianne asked and I could tell that idea made her excited.
"Hm! I will," it'll be the first time I'll sing something from one of my idols in front of them.
I'm still kind of thinking about what should I choose. Taylor Swift's Enchanted, Katy Perry's Love Me, Bruno Mars's Just the Way You Are, Adele's Love In The Dark, or Sam Smith's To Die For? Whatever I chose, it'll be alright, because I already had a rehearsal with the two singers from the region who will help me by playing the instruments. And at least I believe I thought them how to play well!
And if something happens to them, I can just do it myself. Be it with the piano, guitar, or anything else. I have to be prepared, especially when one of my half-siblings or Lorena might try to sabotage me.
"The songs you wrote?" She asked, and I stopped daydreaming about my choices and focused on her again. "Did you know the Lady wrote more than fifty songs until now?" Marianne told the healers and they looked at me surprised.
"You did?" They asked together.
Well, I didn't write them. But as my idols don't exist in this world, I have to make this for them. Imagine if they knew their songs are being listened to even in another world… How exciting, "Yes. I have more than two notebooks full of songs," I said smiling.
I wrote them down write when I began to write. Thanks to my memories of my past life, I still remember all the lyrics from my favorite songs until the time I died. So I was able to do it. And I also have a good memory of the melodies, which also allows me to reproduce them. I'll be the pioneer of pop songs in this life, all for my idols.
"You are all invited to the ball anyways, so you will see my performance!" I winked. After all, there was no way I wouldn't invite them. And regarding Marianne, she's the one helping me organize the ball, so she'll be there too.
"How many songs will you sing, Lady Hope?" Thomas asked happier than before, and I felt glad for the fact that we weren't talking about what could go wrong anymore.
I bit my lip, "I prepared five songs to sing tonight. So, if I'm able to, I'll try performing all of them."
"Do they have a name?" It was Dean who asked this time.
A nod. "Yes. The first one is Enchanted, the second's Love Me, then there's Just the Way You Are, there's also Love In The Dark, and the last one is To Die For."
Marianne smirked, "They are all about love. The Lady may not look like it, but she's rather romantic. I've seen her rehearsing them before, and I'm sure you will love it." She petted my hair kindly, "Lady Hope also has an angelic voice. She's a genius. Talented in everything she does."
Another misinterpretation. I'm not romantic at all. But as she believes I'm the one who wrote all the songs, she thinks I'm the most romantic person alive, when I'm not. "You flatter me," I said blushing. She is like a mother to me, I can't even explain it. I'll forever be grateful for all the love she gave me since I was a baby until now. Always on my side, caring for me at all moments, especially when I was at my worst.
When I leave this place, I'll be sure to take her with me!
Sigh. "What hour is it now?"
"6 pm," Dean asked, and then he got up quickly. "God is already late. We'll leave you to get ready, Lady Hope."
"The ball is 8 pm, after all," Thomas added, getting up. "We'll see you at the ball, Lady Hope. Anything you need, just call us, alright?" I nodded.
I'll take these two with me as well! "See you later, then. Thank you again, for healing me!"
"We are here for you," Thomas said before they both left, leaving me alone with Marianne again and she got up as well.
"My Lady, do you think Sir Thomas is single?" She had her back turned to me, but I could tell she was blushing by the red in her ears.
"He is," I said smiling. "I've asked before. Now, Dean isn't. He's dating a librarian downtown. But Thomas is single, and he likes a woman. You should try something. You are still 38 years old, so you can give him lots of children yet," that made her gasp.
"God's above, Lady Hope, I'll never understand how can you be so bold to say such things!" When she turned around, she was blushing hard. "We can talk about it later. Now, let's get you ready. Your golden gown has been waiting for you since you postponed the ball!"
She helped me get on my feet and took me to the bathing room, "I'll try helping you with him!" It was all I managed to say before taking my clothes and entering the bathtub.
