Chapter 17 - Why, the human world?

-Hospital-

"Are you sure you aren't feeling any discomfort anywhere? Why do you want to go home already?"

"Mom, I am fine. It's only a mild burn, nothing serious. How many times should I tell you? I don't like staying in hospital. It sickens me here." Ying Shan said, getting up from the bed.

Grabbing his hand, Madam Ying made him lay in the bed "No, Let your father and doctor return first. Then, we will discuss about the discharge."

Just then, the door opened as a middle-aged man and doctor entered the room.

"Doctor Uncle, Tell mom that I am okay and there's no need for further hospitalization. She doesn't believe me at all." Ying Shan grumbled.

The doctor chuckled as he explained "Actually, Little Shan is right. The fire was indeed life-threatening; it's a miracle he survived staying in that room full of fire and smoke without getting severely burned or suffocated. The minor burn he got will heal within a few days."

"I think God is with him, his lungs are intact even though he inhaled so much smoke. Still, I suggest he stay here for a few days just for precaution. You won't mind, right?" He peered at Ying Shan, who was glaring at him, displeasure flashing clearly in his eyes.

"Why would he have any problem? Brother, Take good care of your nephew, while we are away, okay?" voiced Madam Ying.

"But, I don't want to stay!" Ying Shan protested.

"Obviously that goes without saying. Also, Brother-in-law, I forgot to tell you one thing. The hospital director wanted to see you." The doctor said.

"Hello, I object to staying here. I want to go home." Being ignored, Ying Shan bellowed.

"Really? Since I have free time right now. I will have to visit him, then." CEO Ying nodded his head.

"Father, Let me come with you. I will talk to the director myself. I want to complain about Uncle about how he is restraining a patient from getting discharged and keeping me in the hospital without my consent." Ying Shan uttered glaring at the doctor.

"Let me take you to his office. Let's go." Feigning ignorance to his death glares, he opened the door for CEO Ying.

CEO Ying approached his son, ruffled his hair before speaking "Xiao Shan, Take a good rest. Don't worry about anything. Also, don't cause trouble for your uncle. Father has an important matter to handle. Be a good boy."

"Father..Father!!" He saw his father leaving with his uncle. Frustrated, he rolled on the bed. "This is so infuriating."

Looking at her son, Madam Ying sighed, fixing the blanket "You have been sick lately. First that high fever, now this. Should I visit the temple or do charity? I think I should do both, I am grateful to God that nothing happened to you. I nearly thought I was gonna lose my precious son. Mom is sorry, you must have been scared."

"It's fine, Mom. It was indeed frightening unable to do anything and realizing I was slowly loosening my consciousness. But..I saw something strange, unfamiliar dark room." Ying Shan mumbled softly.

"But, what Xiao Shan?"

"It's nothing. Mom, I am hungry. I want to have porridge."

"Porridge? *Chuckle* that's so unlike you. You have been acting a bit strange since you woke up."

"Strange?"

"I mean previously even if you get a small scratch you would call your uncle or want to visit the hospital. Also, when you got a fever last time, you had pizza for lunch and dinner. Aye, did the smoke go to your head instead of your lungs?"

"Mom, that's utter nonsense. I think I am tired. I am going to sleep."

"Umm, take a nice nap. I will order porridge and some side dishes for you." Madam Ying pecked his forehead, before leaving the room.

"Have I changed? The eerie feeling in my heart..I can't seem to shake it off. I feel like I am missing something." He muttered to himself, gradually falling asleep.

***

Steadily opening his eyes, he looked at the ravishing beauty in front of him.

"Master! I am really glad you finally woke up." Shen Xiu Ying exclaimed happily seeing the man opening his eyes.

Helping him sit up, she continued "I succeeded. It took me two days, still, I made it. I healed you as a Supreme Deity with my Divinity. I don't know why but I feel so excited telling you this I learned a bit to control the power. You did it on purpose so that I can know my potential, right? Yet, I am still mad at you."

*Giggle*

"I apologize. Though it was an irrational move, it was necessary. If you learnt something beneficial, then the sacrifice is worth nothing. Well, I got to check on your condition in the process." He stated.

Putting aside her fury, she inquired in curiosity "How is my condition? Is the headache really linked with Divinity?"

He began to explain "It is directly related. The Divinity is like a moving fire explosive. It is so mighty, that a normal god would explode the moment he or she tries to assimilate it into their body. You are different, still, It hasn't been long you assimilated it and took over a new body. Your soul is frailer than before."

"Thus, Both your body and soul requires time to recover. But, you kept using powers recently resulting in headaches. Even though it was in a tiny amount, that still is enough for your health to deteriorate."

"Like the saying goes 'Single drops of water make an ocean, It will be worse next time. So, I recommend not using any powers at the moment and try your best to recuperate."

She was quiet for a while before she nodded her head in response. "Fine. I will do as you say."

"I think I should take my leave then. You should return back. It's getting late out there. I will answer your question some other times." He suggested as he got up.

She held him back, asking "Wait. Answer my last question. It's weird but I keep pondering about it. I don't think you sent me into the human world just for recovering my strength. I mean I can do it here as well, staying in seclusion. Why, the human world?"
