Chereads / HOW DID I BECOME THE SYSTEM!? / Chapter 17 - USJ Arc Part 1

Chapter 17 - USJ Arc Part 1

It was chaos.

*BOOM BOOM BOOM*

The earth-shaking clashes of Revenants' shadow of Nana Shimura and All Might could be heard in what remained of USJ.

"Raah" "Ruuugh" "Hiss"

The wails, screams, and hisses of Umbra's shadows were everywhere. The original projection was not present due to its cowardly nature. Izuki, who had appeared earlier, fought with everyone in class 1-A to fend off the shadows and protect their injured teachers until help arrived.

However, the shadows were virtually infinite with their numbers in the thousands and their rate of respawn. Neither help nor relief seemed likely before they were eventually overrun. Only Izuku's healing light, which he dedicated all his focus to maintaining, was keeping everyone on their feet and their teacher in the land of the living. But with the increasing hopelessness of the situation, even this power was beginning to falter.

"Bakugo! We have fliers on the left flank. Find a hand-to-hand fighter there and tell them to switch with you." Momo ordered through the earpiece she wore while firing into a group of shadows from atop the command center - the bus they came to USJ in - with an assault rifle. She had been using cannons and turrets at the start but with the dip in the Izuku's healing and increase in shadows, couldn't maintain creating ammo for it.

"Tch," Bakugo clicked his tongue through coms. "I can't right now. My wrist was damaged from the big explosions I used earlier. I need to heal for a bit before I can get airborne again."

"Shit!" Momo cursed as she reloaded her gun. "What's Todoroki doing?"

Bakugo snarled as he practically growled out the answer "Recovering from frostbite."

Momo bit her lip in frustration at the answer." He still won't use his fire?" She asked while already suspecting the answer. Bakugo's silence was answer enough. "Fuck!" She shouted and resumed firing into the new group of shadows that were gathering on the right. "Even after seeing how dire the situation is, he still won't use his fire! What about the new girl?"

"Izuki," Bakugo supplied the name of his childhood friend. His voice still contained hints of disbelief at her return.

"Can she do something about the fliers?"

"All ready on it boss lady!" The slightly high-pitched and childish yet beastial voice of Izuki Midoriya said both above Momo and through the earpiece.

Momo ceased firing and looked up into the sky to see Izuki flying toward the left flank. She had now grown two sets of toxic green draconic wings to go along with the other inhuman features she had developed during the course of this battle for survival. The girl had stopped looking even remotely human after she had grown scales and hindleg but in this quirked world and fucked up situation Momo didn't even bat an eye at it. Especially if it got the job done.

Momo tore her eyes from the sight of Izuki flying and once again resumed firing into shadows. "Dammit! Why did this day have to turn out like this?"

Why Today Turned Out Like This

A Mic was shoved in Izuku's face. "Hey, you," A female reporter, one of the many who had been crowing the school's entrance addressed him. "How are All Mights' classes?"

"Eh, um, ah." A little flustered from the suddenness of the reporter's question, izuku stumbled over his words before composing himself and answering. "They're really cool and I enjoy going to them. Um, please excuse me, I don't want to be late for class." And with that Izuku moved past the crowd into the school.

The reporters, seeing Izuku pass the gate and therefore beyond their reach, decided to focus on Ochaco who was right behind Izuku. "You miss," the reporter said while shoving the mic in Ochaco's face. "Can you tell us about what the Symbol of Peace is like as a teacher?"

"Wh-What he's like?" Uraraka parroted a bit nervously, before sputtering out an answer. "Um...He's very muscular!" Then she moved passed the reporters and into the school where Izuku was waiting for her.

"What do you think of All Might as a teacher?" The reporter asked Tenya Lida.

Lida leaned in toward the mic and spoke with the clarity and confidence of a politician. "He made me recognize anew that I attend an educational institution that is the best of the best," Lida answered, "Of course, his dignity and character go without saying, but we students are constantly able to see his humorous side. It is a unique opportunity to learn about being a top hero directly from the number one."

The reporters listened as Lida rattled on but were quickly bored with his wordy and politician-like reply and so moved on to the next student. Katsuki Bakugo.

"Excuse me! Can you tell me about All Might– Oh? You're the kid who beat the sludge villain… Blew him to bits if I remember correctly." Katsuki, with a stoic gaze, gave a huff at the mention of that incident but didn't slow down his walk to the gate and quickly passed it.

Then the reporters spotted Aizawa. "Um, about All Might...Wow, you're scruffy...What's your deal?"

"He's not on duty today." The underground hero replied. "You are disturbing the classes. Please leave," Aizawa made a shooing motion at them before walking through the entrance while ignoring the reporter's yells and demand for information.

"I would like to speak directly with All Might–"

"Why did The Symbol Of Peace decide to pick up teaching…"

"Don't you think you're too scruffy?!"

'I can't believe All Might was able to work as a hero with all this,' Aizawa thought in annoyance as he headed to his scheduled class.

In the back, far behind the crowd of reporters, a slim man with pale skin, tinged yellow teeth, and a great deal of wrinkles around his eyes watched U.A. His chapped lips curled into an evil smile under the hoodie that covered most of his identifying features. His messy grayish-blue hair was one of the few that his hoody didn't cover.

A whoosh of displaced air was felt and heard from behind the sinister-looking man but he made no attempt to turn around and see who was behind him. He already knew who it was.

"Shigaraki," a gravelly, deep, and menacing voice spoke from a nearby shadow with a slight undertone of annoyance. "I thought I told you not to run off on your own again. Doubly so if it's in enemy territory." In the darkness, for a brief second, two yellow eyes shined before vanishing. "Now return to base, or do I need to discipline you like the brat you are."

The smile on the now-named Shigaraki's face faltered a bit at the voice before regaining its full curve. "Revenant," Shigaraki addressed the shadow without turning around. His voice was full of the mirth one would expect of someone in on a joke. "Quit it with the edgy tough guy act. We both know your threats are empty. After all, touching me would break the agreement between Ayirodim and Teacher." Shigaraki's smile widened a bit more as he continued to speak.

"While you guys could win against the League of Villains, we both know it's game over for you if Teacher gets involved. So quit griping and stay out of my way. The preludes' about to start." With his peace said Shigaraki walked away from Revenant and toward the school gate, which was now sealed up thanks to a reporter trying to enter without permission. No matter, he would soon change that.

Revenant growled in anger at Shigaraki from the shadows but did nothing to stop him from doing as he pleased. For a brief, infinitesimal second, Revenant considered killing Shigaraki. Making the skinsuit scream and suffer, as he put years of torturing and killing into practice for however long Shigaraki lasted. But once the second had passed, so had Revenant's desire to murder Shigaraki. The skinsuit was right. He couldn't touch him. At least not until the partnership between Ayirodim and the League of Villains ended or he found out where that bastard Hisashi stashed his source code. But, if either of those scenarios happened or even better, both, well... need more be said?

Inside Class 1-A Homeroom Aizawa P.O.V

"Good work on yesterday's combat training everyone. I saw the video and the results." Aizawa complimented. "I see potential in all of you."

Most of the class smiled at his compliment but Yaoyorozu, Ojiro, Kaminari, and Jiro looked less than pleased. He guessed they were...unsatisfied with the results. After all, they were the ones that faced Todoroki, Midoriya, and Bakugo, so their "fights" were actually just one-sided defeats so their frustration was understandable.

"Now let's get down to homeroom business. Sorry about the late notice, but today, I'll have you…" Aizawa saw that his words caused everyone to tense. Probably expecting him to give them another test he guessed. Well, he was happy to disappoint. "...decide on a class representative."

Aizawa saw the class visibly relax at his words. He would have found it funny if he wasn't so tired. So tired he found himself about to drift a bit into sleep when the classroom explode into noise.

"I want to be class rep! Pick me!" The spiky redhead, Kirishima, shouted first.

"Me too!" Then the golden-haired boy with the black lighting streak in his head, Kaminari, shouted after.

"I want to do it, too." Jiro, a girl with dark purple hair and lazy eyes, said calmly while raising her hand.

And so on as students one after the other volunteered to be the class representative.

While the class was in a frenzy, Aizawa snuck a look at Midoriya who, disappointingly, looked uninterested in being a class rep. While Aizawa didn't really care about who became class representative if he had to pick a favorite candidate for the job he would pick Midoriya.

From what Aizawa saw, the boy was strong, smart, very capable, and had a lot of guts for his age. The kid didn't so much as flinch when Aizawa threatened him with expulsion. Midoriya just looked determined to do what needed to be done to secure his spot in U.A. A look Aizawa approved of. If there was one thing he thought a hero needed the most, it was determination. With all those qualities taken into consideration, Aizawa believed that with Izuku as the head of 1-A and the example for the other students to follow, the class would be better for it in the long run. Too bad he...oh?

Izuku's hand had risen.

Aizawa started wondering what changed his mind when he saw Izuku's head face toward his partner from yesterday, whose right hand was also up while giving a smile and thumbs up in Izuku's direction.

'Ahh,' Aizawa thought as the realization came to him. 'Those two. Now that I think about it, they've always been a pair.' In the entrance exam, they we both trapped under rubble. On the first day, they were both late and had the same expulsion threat. They were even paired up during battle training. 'If the trend continues, then both will be class representatives.' Aizawa thought with a bit of amusement.

"Silence, please!" Lida shouts, causing the chattering students to stop and turn toward him. Aizawa was going to stop the students himself but since Lida was already on the case, why stop him?

"It is a job with the serious responsibility of leading others," Lida spoke with the utmost seriousness. "It is not a job for just anyone who wants to do it. It is a calling that requires the trust of those around you. If we want to use democracy to decide on a true leader, then we should hold an election to choose one."

"Your hand is raised the highest!" The class yelled as Lida's arm was up high.

"Why did you suggest that?" Kaminari asked.

"We haven't known each other for that long, so how can we have trust or anything?" Asui added.

"If that's the case, and everyone votes for themselves…" Kirishima said.

"Don't you think that is precisely why whoever receives multiple votes here can be truly considered the most suitable person? What do you think, Mr. Aizawa?" Lida asked as their teacher was zipping up himself in his sleeping bag.

Aizawa, who was a half-step away from the rem cycle, answered, "I don't care, as long as you decide before homeroom is over." Then he fell to the ground to sleep.

"Thank you very much!"

Aizawa didn't hear much after Lida thanked him but he was pretty sure the voting process was getting started before he was out like a light.

Izuku P.O.V

Izuku didn't know what to expect from the results but what he was seeing, wasn't it.

Izuku Midoriya - 2

Momo Yaoyorozu - 2

Ochaco Uraraka - 2

He had told Ochaco to vote for herself during the vote-counting process despite her wanting to vote for him and he had voted for her too. So it made sense that she had two votes.

What didn't make sense was why he had two votes. Not only was he not friends with anyone outside of Ochaco but he hadn't even held a conversation with anyone in the class longer than a few passing words. So he was sure no one would vote for him, It was why he wouldn't have held up his hand to run for class representative if Ochaco hadn't encouraged him to. But now he found himself in what he thought was an impossible situation, standing in front of the whole class with the other candidates in a three-way tie for class representative.

Lida trembled in defeat at the results, "I knew that would happen...That is only to be expected of a person's calling."

"You voted for someone else, huh?" Yaoyororu says with a look of confusion on her face.

Speaking of voting for someone else, Izuku was curious about who voted for him. Was it Lida? Unlikely, he hadn't even talked to the guy. Maybe Ochaco got one of her friends to vote for. She had been talking a lot with their other classmates since the first day.

"But you wanted to do it, too. What are you trying to do, Iida?" Sato asked in curiosity but Lida didn't answer and instead addressed the current tie.

"Three people have tied but we only have two positions opened," Lida surmised. "It's unfortunate after getting this far but someone's going to have to step down." Everyone in the class went silent at what Lida had said.

Izuku made his face turn impassive at the announcement as he turned to look at his fellow candidates. Yaoyororu's cold and determined look gave everyone an answer on how she felt about stepping down. Which was a snowball's chance in hell.

Ochaco was a bit fidgety at first, a sign that she was thinking hard, but her face turned into a determined one after a few seconds.

Seeing the determination in both girls' eyes, Izuku resolved to step down and let them have the positions. After all, while he was interested in taking up the position, now that he knew he had an actual chance to have it, Izuku knew that he wasn't really the leader type. Whether it was his sister or Katsuki, when they were kids, it was always them he was chasing behind, not the other way around.

"I'm goi-," Izuku began.

"I'll step down," Ochaco all but shouted. She looked at Izuku's face for a bit before moving her hand over her mouth to catch a giggle.

'My jaw must be hanging open,' Izuku realized and closed his mouth immediately.

Lida and Yaoyororu nodded in respect and thanks at her decision while others including me were about to ask her why she decided to drop out of the election.

However, Mr. Aizawa, who had somehow deemed it time to wake up declared the final results. "Then, the class rep is Midoriya, and the deputy class rep will be Yaoyororu,"

"But both Midoriya and Yaoyororu are still tied," Kirishima pointed out.

Aizawa looked at Kirishima, then at Izuku and Momo. "Do either of you have a problem with this arrangement?"

Izuku didn't say anything in way of answering and Yaoyororu glanced at Izuku before turning back to Aizawa and shaking her head.

"How vexing…" She muttered under her breath but Izuku still heard.

Aizawa smiled a bit before saying, "There you go."

Then the class, satisfied with the results, started discussing their acceptance of the candidate.

"That might not be too bad," Asui admits.

"After all's said and done, Midoriya can be pretty fired up, anyway," Kirishima says. "And Yaoyorozu was cool when we were going over the battle results!"

Lunch Time, Ochaco POV

RIIING!!!

"And that's the bell, good job everyone I'll see you tomorrow." Ectoplasm, the clone hero and the mathematics teacher of U.A. said when the school bell stopped ringing. "Enjoy your lunch."

As the U.A. teacher left the class Ochaco let out a small sigh of relief. The classes here were really tough and she was hungry and couldn't wait to get lunch. The lunch in U.A. was really good after all. As she packed up her books for the class she thought of who to sit with for lunch. Izuku was a no-brainer but she had recently made friends with some of the other girls in class and wanted to sit with them as well.

However, considering Izuku's normal attitude when not talking to her, -impassive boredom- it was pretty obvious what the result of that would be. Either everyone would talk around Izuku or awkwardly try to get him engaged in a conversation when his face looked like he would rather be anywhere but there.

Ochaco sighed as she watched Izuku packing away his book from across the class. His face had the usual impassive, almost bored look.

If she didn't know him very, she probably would have assumed he didn't find anyone or anything interesting. The others in the class certainly did. It's why they never approached him, Bakugo, or Todoroki. At this rate, Ochaco was sure Izuku wouldn't make any friends if she didn't intervene.

Now that she thought about it. What was with the strongest guys in the class having a poker face that rivaled a brick wall?

At the question, Ochaco's mind pictured the three of them sitting down for a game of poker, trying to out-deadpan each other which made her giggle a bit.

'I'm getting off-topic,' she thought while shaking her head a bit. 'Izuku, friends, lunch!'

"Is everything all right Uraraka?" Lida asked from in front of her with a bit of concern laced in his voice.

'Ah, he probably saw me fretting about..." Then the realization hit her. 'Serious, deadpan, nice, and one of Izuku's possible voters. Plus I'm pretty sure he wasn't eating with anybody in particular when I last saw him in the cafeteria. HE'S PERFECT!' Without a second thought, Ochaco reached out her hand and clasped Lida's shoulder. With a bright smile, she asked, "Lida, would you like to eat lunch with me and Izuku?"

Lida looked at her a little funny but nodded in agreement at the request. "Of course! There's something I've wanted to say to him for a while now but haven't seen the chance to."

Ochaco removed her hand from Lida's shoulder and clapped them together with a smile on her face. "Great, I'll go tell Izuku so we can walk there together."

Lida nodded to Ochaco as got up and moved over to Izuku to let him know about the new addition to their lunch group.

Three minutes later, the trio of Ochaco, Izuku, and Lida were together in the cafeteria. Just as Ochaco had expected, Izuku and Lida didn't say much other than greet each other during the walk or when they got lunch. With the way things were going, they probably wouldn't say anything more than that if she didn't say something.

"There's a lot of people today, too," Uraraka comments as she, Izuku, and Lida sat at a table with their lunches. 'Not the best conversation starter but it's something.

"That's because everyone in the hero course, support course, and management course meets in the same place," Lida explains as she takes a bite of freshly made steamed white rice out of her bowl using her chopsticks.

Izuku didn't say anything so there was a bit of a lull in the conversation after that so Ochaco decided to change subjects. "Mmmhh, the rice is so delicious!"

Izuku breathes heavily through his nose while looking down at his Katsudon bowl. Which got him a curious look from the Ochaco. "Something wrong Izuku, is the food not good?"

Izuku shook his head with the same apathetic look on his face. "No. Nothing's wrong with the food. I've just been thinking about the election we held earlier. Even though I've volunteered and have been chosen as class rep, it's not really something I feel confident in doing well with anymore." Her best friend admitted.

"What! But you're like the smartest person I know." Uraraka reassures while eating her meal. "Plus a top scorer in every test we've had since the entrance exam."

"I'm sure you'll be fine," Lida also adds. "I've seen what you're capable of and think you'll be fine. It's why i voted for you."

'Aha! I knew it!' Ochaco shouts in her head while smiling.

"It was you?" Izuku said in surprise. Finally showing more than an apathetic exterior. "But we don't even know each other."

Lida hummed at Izuku's admission before speaking up. "I suppose you don't remember because it was quite some time ago but we were in the same group during the entrance exam. I saw when you save the other examinee from the zero pointer with your shield and when you dived into the line of fire to save someone when it threw that building." Lida shook his head in disappointment. "All while I was running away."

Lida paused for a bit to look Izuku directly in the eye. "Ever since that day, I've respected you as not only a superior man but as a better hero. Your courage and judgment at critical moments make you worth following. That's why I voted for you."

"Lida..." Izuku said in shock. Clearly unsure of how to respond to the other boys' words.

So Ochaco decided to jump in. "But didn't you want to be a class rep, too, Lida? I mean, you've got glasses and everything," Her comment made Izuku look at her funny for a bit. Ochaco didn't know why, but she wasn't going to ask if he didn't want to say anything.

"Wanting to do it and being suitable for it are different issues. I merely did what I judged to be correct," the navy-haired teen explained.

"Merely?" Uraraka ponderd out loud. Something about the way Lida acted and talked always made her wonder something about the boy.

"People don't usually use the word…" Izuku pointed out. She guessed he was thinking the same thing as her.

"Oh, that's…" Lida tried to explain.

"I've been thinking...are you a rich boy, Lida?" Ochaco asked casually. It was pretty obvious when she put together the admittable small pieces of information she had on him.

From the way, he talked, to how he always talked for long lengths about respect and his very stiff demeanor. It all screamed silver spoon to her.

"Rich…" Lida deadpans before sighing, "I tried to change how I talk because I didn't want to be called that."

Izuku and Uraraka stared at Lida, curiosity consuming them as they waited for his answer.

"Yes, my family has been heroes for generations. I'm the second son."

"What?! Wow!" Ochaco exclaimed.

"Do you know the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?" Iida asked.

"Yeah," Izuku respond with excitement. His hero-worship side coming out. Something Ochaco was really happy about. "He's a really popular hero who has 65 sidekicks working at his Tokyo agency!" Izuku spouted before gasping in realization, "Don't tell me…!"

"He is my elder brother!" Lida stated proudly, standing up from his seat with his hands resting on his hips.

"He's telling us straight out!" Uraraka said.

"That's amazing!" Izuku fanboyed as Iida pushes back his glasses with a glint in his eyes.

As Lida continued to talk about his brother, his desire to be like him, and other stuff to Izuku and her, Ochaco smiled. She was happy Izuku was finally opening up to Lida.

'Mission get Izuku a friend complete!' Ochacho said in her head as she gave herself mental pats on the back. However, she paused when she felt a real one and turned around to see who did it but saw no one. 'Was that Hagakure?'

Ochaco began looking around the cafeteria for the floating uniform that was the invisible girl of class 1-a. However, her brief search came to a close when she heard the school bells ring. But not the normal one, this one was ringing like an alarm. And Izuku said as much.

"An alarm?!" Izuku exclaimed while standing up and moving closer to her.

"There has been a Level 3 security breach." A monotone female voice said from the PA system.

"What?!" Lida exclaimed.

"–All students please evacuate outdoors promptly. I repeat…" The monotone voice instructed as students started to evacuate.

"What's "Level 3 security"?" Lida asked a nearby student.

"It means someone is trespassing on school grounds! I've never seen anything like this in the three years I've been here! You should hurry, too!" The student answered before running off.

Izuku grabbed Ochaco's hand and helped her out of her seat with a deadly serious expression on his face. "Ochaco, no matter what, don't let go of my hand. Very soon everyone is going to rush to the doors in a panic and if we're not careful, we can be trampled. And if this is an attack I need you near me so I can protect you in case a villain gets past the security. Something I can't do if you get lost in the crowd. OK?"

Ochaco was about to say tell Izuku that everything would be fine and that he was overreacting. But with one look in his eyes, all of those words died in her throat. He looked serious and calm, yes, but also... afraid. Not of the situation but for her. Ochaco didn't know why, but that killed any sort of dissent she had about his reaction. So she nodded at his words while tightening her grip on his hand.

Izuku nodded back and turned his head to Lida. "That goes for you too Lida. Stick close to me and if push comes to shove I'll use my power to separate us from the crowd." Lida nodded at Izuku and place a firm grip on the other boy's shoulder. "Good, now let's move."

The three friends joined the crowd of students exiting the cafeteria and no sooner did they do that, did Ochaco realize Izuku was right. The hallways were jam-packed full of students, everyone rushing to get outside. Panic was everywhere as people shoved others down the hallway, rushing to the exit. Yells and screams emerged from students all over the place.

"Don't push!"

"Wait, I'm falling!"

"I said, don't push!"

"Ow...Everyone really is panicking." Uraraka said while squished between Izuku and a random student.

"As expected of the best of the best. Everyone reacts quickly in a crisis!" Lida said while trying to maintain balance and his grip on Izuku's shoulder. "I just wish they reacted a bit more appropriately."

Izuku said nothing as he powered through the wave of panicking students without losing balance. It seemed like he would get through everyone when a massive wave of students in front of them stopped moving.

"We have to stop!" Izuku shouted over the crowd to Ochaco and Lida. "People in the front are stuck! We'll be squished between them and the crowd if we continue."

"But we can't stop or we'll be trampled" Ochaco shouted back.

Izuku didn't respond back but his form did start to glow a yellowish hue. A signal that he was about to start using his quirk. However, Lida spoke to him before he made his move.

"Wait! If you do that now, someone could get hurt. Let's try moving toward the windows first." Lida moved his left hand to point right. "That way we avoid the crowd trampling us and see what's going on outside!"

For a few seconds, Izuku's body continued to glow. Most likely weighing the pros and cons of that action. Then the glowing stopped. "Alright, we'll make for the windows. Hold on tight."

After those words, Izuku pulled Ochaco closer and made their way toward the windows. The experience was, to say the least, harsh. Moving toward the exit, Ochaco had thought that the pushing and shoving were bad moving forward. Moving sideways in a crowd pushing forward was worse.

People constantly stepped on her toes and bumped into her and the amount of time she nearly fell was even more. So it was with much relief that when the three reached the windows, Izuku had put himself between her and the crowd. At first, she had been worried about him. After all, dozens of students were shoving and bumping into him to reach the exit even though it was blocked. But after watching the crowd bounce off him as they attempted to get in front of the others. She knew he would be ok.

"Thanks," she shouted to Izuku over the roar of the crowd.

"It's no problem," He responded.

"It's the press," Lida said out of nowhere causing both Ochaco and Izuku to look toward him. "See the entrance of the building? The reporters from this morning are in front of it."

Ochaco looked where Lida was telling her to and saw them. The reporters from this morning were running in from where the school entrance was. "Wait a second, then that means..."

"That there's no reason to panic," Izuku finished her sentence.

Ochaco couldn't see her friend's face -because she was under him- but she could tell from the relieved sigh he let out that he was relaxing a bit now that he knew there was no villain attack.

Lida nodded at their understanding. "We need to let everyone know but I doubt we can get through to them in this chaos."

"Move!"

"Out of the way!"

Students shouted all over the place as if to prove Lida's words.

"Don't worry," Izuku reassured him. "I can get their attention. You just need to tell them what we know. Can you do that?" Izuku asked with the utmost seriousness. Lida nodded. "Good"

"Can I help?" Ochaco asked. She didn't like the idea of doing nothing after being helped so much.

"Yeah," Izuku responded. "I was going to ask you to use your quirk on Lida so this next part doesn't hurt his arm too bad." Lida caught on to what Izuku was saying very quickly if his eyes widening was anything to go by. "You guys ready?" Izuku asked.

They nodded.

"Then let's begin."

Following his words, both Ochaco and Lida reached for each other. When they grasped hands, she put her classmate under the effect of her quirk. As Lida began floating, Ochaco saw a golden flash of light come from above them. She craned her neck up from under Izuku's arms and saw a golden hand floating in the air above them. Lida released his grip from Ochaco's hand and pushed off the wall for the hand which he grabbed easily. Then Izuku moved his left hand which he had braced against the glass to grab onto what looked like a large golden horn trumpet and blew into it.

The sound of the trumpet was so loud and long that Ochaco's ears hurt a bit listening to it. She had no idea when Izuku even drew in a breath to make the sound of the horn that loud but it seemed to have done the trick because the hallway became quiet enough to hear a whisper after he was done. All sounds of movement and screaming were gone.

'Now it's up to you Lida,' Ochaco thought as she watched the golden hand move him toward the front of the crowd.

And Lida did not disappoint. "Everyone, everything's fine!" His announcement caused everyone to look forward at him. "It's just the media! There is nothing to panic about. Everything's fine! This is U.A. Let us act in a way befitting the best of the best."

The students began muttering amongst one another but finally stopped panicking. Allowing everyone to get out of the hallways without shoving and trampling one another. When the hallway had cleared out, only three students remained.

"Good job Lida," Izuku complimented as he directed the golden hand his classmate was holding onto downward.

Ochaco nodded in agreement with her friend as she dismissed the effects of her quirk when Lida's feet touched the ground. "Yeah, you really pulled through for us."

Lida, as humble as ever, thanked them instead of accepting the praise. "Thank you for your kind words but getting everyone to calm down so smoothly wouldn't have been possible without your help. Thank you once again." Then Lida bowed so deeply that Ochaco thought his head might hit the floor.

Izuku immediately tried to get the taller boy out of his bow by lifting his shoulders up. "There's no need to bow Lida. After all, helping each other is what friends do, right?"

"Yeah," Ochaco chimed in. "Besides, we all played a part, didn't we? This is a team victory. Put 'er here," She said while sticking her hand out horizontally. Lida looked confused about what to do until izuku put a hand on her own. With a smile, she had only seen once on Lida prior to this whole mess, he put his hand on Izuku's. Ochaco smiled a toothy grin before counting. "Three, two, one. GO TEAM!"

Hands flew above heads as the group of two friends became three.

A/N: First part of the dramatic USJ arc. From the earlier part of the chapter, you can tell I'm going to be beating cannon over the head with a very spiky bat. By the way, I'm very curious about what you think of my version of Izuku, Lida, and Ochaco becoming friends. Was it too forced? Just right? Leave an opinion in the comment section. It helps me improve my writing.

Thanks P3T, Minichip, Yhogo, and YourAverageUser for the stone!
