Chapter 1 - Rebirth

In the blink of an eye, one year, ten years, hundred years, thousand years, ten thousand, hundred thousand, and eventually a million years passed. I was pleased with my creation, a vast universe over which I rule and have complete control. But it was desolate. I gave it life, but life necessitate time to evolve and thrive. I hoped that life would flourish throughout the universe and that people would be filled with compassion, tolerance, and love.

I opened my eyes to see the many stars that surrounded me. Except for the universe, I had no place to call home. I could see new stars that appeared in my sleep and old stars that faded away while I slept. For me, a million years passed in the blink of an eye as life proliferated in my vast universe. I couldn't wait to see my creation and to experience the wonders of life as one of them, to live as a mortal and to die as a mortal. To learn and see how society has evolved. I invoked the power of Higher Creation and transformed myself into a beam of light, which I directed to be sent to a random person's body so that I could experience the ups and downs of life.

The beam of light chose a random destination and shot through multiple solar systems and nebulae until a planet with vast oceans and multiple fertile continents appeared before my eyes. I placed my hand on my torso and painlessly disintegrated my body, leaving only my soul. I flew past the planet's moon and into its atmosphere.

"Oh, my Emperor!" An astronomer knelt before a massive throne carved from the finest jade and crafted by the Emperor's best craftsmen. The Emperor stared down at the astronomer, waiting for him to continue. "The Astronomy Association discovered a fallen star falling through our Holy Sun Empire! "This is certainly a good omen!" the astronomer said as he bowed before his Emperor. The Emperor looked up and above the palace's transparent roof, through which he could see the starry sky, and smiled arrogantly, believing that he would be the one to unite the rest of the continent and create an empire worthy of the name.

When Apollyon opened his eyes, he was ecstatic that he had finally arrived and could see his creations and their way of life. Oh, how lovely it would be. Before long, Apollyon noticed a child's foot flying towards his stomach. "Pet, you've done a fantastic job with him! Let's take Seth's bread and get out of here now!" A child shouted, while the other kid who kicked Apollyon snatched something from Apollyon's hands and ran away. Because Apollyon's soul hadn't completely integrated until now, the pain receptors didn't fire up until now. Apollyon could feel excruciating pain as soon as the soul was fully assimilated into the body.

Apollyon let out a deep groan and curled up into a ball on the ground, his hands on his stoamch. Apollyon couldn't figure out why they'd beaten him up or what they'd taken from him. He hadn't felt pain in a long time, and it was an odd sensation for him. When someone scuffed at Apollyon, he looked up and saw an adult man standing in front of him, staring up and down at him. "You're such a letdown; you know you need to carry bread back to the house and you can't even do that." The guy spits on the ground next to Apollyon and walks away.

Apollyon had the courage to get up and look about after the pain had subsided a little. He was in a small old courtyard with some old benches and a dirt-covered playground for children. Apollyon found children standing nearby, afraid to disturb the adult man's berating of Apollyon.

Apollyon walked slowly to one of the benches, sat down with a thump, and just watched the children play. Despite the fact that they were severely malnourished, they seemed to be full of energy. Apollyon then looked in the mirror and saw his pitiful child body. He could see the outline of his ribs and the blood on his cloth rags, which the caretakers of this house described as "clothes."

"All right, kids! It's time to come in!" A caretaker screamed loudly, and the children filed into the house in a systematic manner. Apollyon entered the crowd of children, sensing the tension in the air because no one dared to look up at the man who spat right next to him. For the first time, Apollyon saw him clearly. He was in his fifties and seemed to be a grumpy man who tried to use his power to make people miserable.

Apollyon looked up just as he was about to reach the house and could still see the faint remnants of his light trail that no one had noticed; he knew that this life would be complicated and full of pain, and he wanted to know what had gone wrong with his creations and why they had turned to selfishness and greed. As the caretaker slammed the door right after Apollyon, Apollyon shook his head and slowly embraced his new life as a weak 7 year old.
