Chapter 10 - Yuvan!

Shivanshi was standing in front of a large wall. It consists of large rocks, covered by creepers and beautiful vines. Shivi's mind went blank as if she was in a spell. She moved her hand forward to touch the wall when suddenly she got hit by a branch.

She looked down, and her eyes widened in surprise to find out the branch moving. The way it was moving, it seems to be really flexible. It was clearly a thin, emerald branch, but Shivi was unable to find its other end behind the bushes.

The branch flipped and curled up. The rumbling in the bushes made someone's presence obvious. Shivi looked in the direction of the sound. There, she saw an emerald color snake crawling towards her. Earlier, what she was considering a branch turns out to be this snake's tail!

The snake, Yuvan, hissed at her and rose his body to match her height. He was hibernating in his cave when he heard someone passing by. When he picked his tongue up to sniff the intruder's smell, he found it new. He can remember the smell of everyone in this forest. This scent doesn't belong to any of them. So he concluded that this intruder is none other than the new resident of this forest.

"Hiss...lass, do you have a bad habit of disturbing otherssss?" Yuvan asked in a dry rasping voice to the eatable prey standing in front of him.

"Huh...is this your home, uncle? I got lost here. Can you show me the way out?" Shivi asked while smiling awkwardly. She was a little scared of reptiles, so she tried her best not to look towards him.

"Really? Then I'll help you...not only in getting out of here but also in getting out of the foresssst," Yuvan suggested while rattling his tail.

"No, I don't want to go out. I like it here," Shivi replied with her bright eyes but as soon as her big eyes met his ophidian cold eyes, her smile disappeared.

"It's not up to you, lassss! I will show you the way out. The only way to get out of the forest is DEATH!" he shrieked in a loud voice.

Shivi caught the snake growing up at a startling speed. Soon, he became double of Shivi's size. Shivi's whole body got covered in his shadow. She felt terrified. She screamed at the top of her lungs and started running.

When Yuvan saw her running towards his cave, he smirked and followed her.

In the Butterfly Valley,

Chip was getting worried for Shivi because she went missing while playing with them. They were looking for her everywhere in the Butterfly Valley, but they failed to find her anywhere. They were about to start round two to look for her when they heard her scream.

They panicked as the scream was coming from the Crystal Spring Lands that is appealing yet precarious at the same time. That scream only meant one thing that Shivi had encountered the danger there. And they knew well that none of them is capable of saving her from him.

"What to do? What to do?" said Monaco jumping anxiously in the air here and there.

"Let's find someone to help." Aadi, the baby wolf, proposed and started running in the opposite direction of the Crystal Springs.

Everyone else followed behind him.

Monaco tried to fly high in the sky to see if there is anyone near them to help. The chip used big tree branches to jump from one tree to another. Aadi ran as fast as he could, and Chig rode over him.

"Somebody help," they all shouted at the top of their lungs and kept screaming with running.

The Cat Siya heard the shouts of Chip, Monaco, Chig, and Aadi. She felt a bad omen coming and became worried about Shivi. She sprinted towards them.

"What happened? Where is Shivi?" Siya asked anxiously, and her eyes started scanning the surroundings to find Shivi, but she can't find her anywhere.

"Shivi! Shivi is in danger! Save! Save her!" said Monaco, the sparrow, hoping anxiously.

"What!? Where is she?" Siya purred loudly.

"In the Crystal Spring Land, we heard her scream and..." before Aadi could complete, Siya had already started running at her full speed towards the Springs land. They all leaped behind her.

Siya knew well what had happened after Shivi had entered the Land. There's no way that old snake won't be able to find about her invading his territory. He is extremely hostile towards humans, so there's no way he will leave Shivi alone. She wants to be there before it's too late. Yuvan isn't like other beasts, he might be in chains by living in this forest, but the beast inside him is as ferocious as ever.

Finally, she reached Springs land. She started following Shivi's scent that was imprinted everywhere in the forest. 'A chase had taken place here,' she concluded. Yuvan was a ravenous reptile who likes to play with his prey before killing it. So, she might have some time left, must have. She thought and started running in the direction of Shivi's scent.

When Siya reached Springs Land, she started tracing Shivi with the help of her smell. She soon found them near Yuvan's cave. Yuvan had his tail wrapped around Shivi, and Shivi was struggling to free herself from his grasp.

Siya rushed towards them. "YUVAN!" she screamed.

Yuvan hissed in irritation and turned to look who was brave enough to disturb his sweet time with his prey. There, he saw the white cat, Siya sprinting towards them.

He sighed in annoyance and said to Shivi, "Seems like I won't be able to eat you peacefully today."

Due to the pressure of his tail on her frail body, Shivi has to even struggle for breath. The more she tries to free herself, the more she felt like dying. She was too scared to notice Siya coming towards them. Shivi wanted to beg the snake to let her go, but she can't speak at all.

Siya stopped in front of Yuvan and said to him, "Yuvan, let her go!" Her anger was evident in her voice. When Shivi saw her Fluffy Aunt coming to save her, she started crying. Siya felt heart-wrenching pain to see her kid suffering.

"Why?" the snake shrugged playfully.

"Because she did nothing wrong. She is just a kid and will die if you keep doing this to her."

"When those humans killed my children, they were small too, they too did nothing wrong, but still, humans killed them. Then why should I let go of her? Sssshe was sent to this forest to get punished in the first place, so let her be," he replied with great hostility in his voice.

"Yuvan! She wasn't the one who did that to your kids. If you kill her today, then be ready to face Aarit's wrath."

The snake flinched at this. Yuvan knew he couldn't be having peaceful days in the forest if he angered Aarit. It's not that he can't fight him; it's just that he is a lazy snake who loves to sleep. So he unwantedly decided to let her go this time.

"Fine!" he said in a pissed voice.

Siya felt better after hearing this. Yuvan let her tail unwrap itself from Shivi. Siya moved forward to hold Shivi, but just as she was about to reach near her, Yuvan snapped his tail. His tail sent Shivi flying into the lake.

'SPLASH' Shivi fell into the lake.

Yuvan smirked in satisfaction and left. Siya ran towards the lake, but she can't swim.
