Wilson clenched his fist tightly. Blood flowed down his hands as he clenched the vibrating knife tightly. It was his only weapon left with him, aside from his gauntlets which were still tightly fitted into his hands. He looked around at the three people surrounding him from quite a distance in the triangle formation. He saw one of them look down at his watch. Distracted during a fight? Wilson wanted to go and beat him down first. Three minus one equals less chances of him dying.
But he couldn't. The other two did not look a away from him. Their eyes were trained on him; guns in their hands - two pistols with each one of them and a rifle on their backs - and they were the better shooters.
"Oh damnit! This is not even the target." The one who looked down and was fiddling with his watch, said. His teammates grunted and complained.
"F*ck!, I knew it." One of the other two said. He had a large scar on the side of his neck that ran down to his shoulders where they were hidden by his clothes.
"So, we just wasted time for nothing." The other one declared. His bangs waved in the slightest breeze.
The one who checked his watch shook his head and answered, "Not entirely. He is also on the bounty."
"Really?"
"Just not expensive."
"Huh!" The one with the scarred neck grumbled.
"Don't worry too much about it. Even if he was not on the list, we will still have to kill him for wasting our time. At least, this way, we would earn something from this." Watch man said.
The scarred neck guy smirked and immediately pulled the trigger on Wilson.
Wilson, who wasn't faster than the bullets ran for his life. The problem was that it did not matter where he ran to. Someone was always shooting at him. He ran around, the bullets grazing him and men laughed with glee. They were having fun, messing with Wilson.
Wilson was infuriated; he was fuming. In his head, he wondered and imagined what he could do to get these people but as he had never been in a such a situation before, he was clueless.
He was losing blood and with all the fatigue and all, it won't be long before he collapsed. Already, he was on his last legs. His unwillingness to give up and, or die was the only thing still keeping him on his feet.
"Wilson?"
Wilson flinched as Dash's voice suddenly sounded in his ear. A bullet hit his right shoulder.
"Aaaah!" He wailed in pain.
"Hehehehehe! This is fun!" The scarred guy laughed hysterically.
"Wilson, hold on. I'm searching for you on the satellite right now."
*click*
Wilson heard the click. The one with the scar had lost count of the bullets in his gun. That click was like a sign from the heavens for Wilson. He dashed at the scarred guy, running in an irregular zigzag pattern, ignoring the other two shooters.
The bullets flew everywhere, two of which hit Wilson in the back but he kept moving. He could not afford to stop.
When he got within three meters from the scarred guy, his partners stopped as they were not confident enough to avoid killing their partner.
The scarred guy threw his gun away and with a shrug of his shoulder, equipped himself with his rifle.
"Mistake!" Wilson roared. As the gun pointed at Wilson, he held the muzzle of the gun and turned it away from him.
*bang*
"Ugh!"
The scared guy had pulled the trigger just as Wilson deflected the muzzle away from him. The bullet whizzed in the air and hit one of the partners who was running to help, right in the forehead.
"F*ck!" The one with the bangs cursed as he quickly turned back and went to hide behind a tree. He, then laid down on the forest floor after a little while. Winter did not reach the forest in this place. In fact, winter was not a season those at Forest Garden experienced. It was seemingly only Summer and spring over there.
As he laid down there; rifle pointed at both Wilson and his partner who were grappling and tussling around, with knives clanging and waving around dangerously, he quietly waited for a chance to put a bullet through Wilson.
He breathed slowly and carefully, his eyes trained on his target. Just then, he heard the sounds of rustling and fast moving footsteps from around.
"Sh*t!" He cursed under his breath. "They have arrived. We wasted too much time."
He was not the only one to notice. Dash did also.
"Wilson," Dash called. " You are quite far from the hole trees and the cameras. If you can hear, me; run. You and the hunters are all close together and I can't tell you apart by merely using the heat signatures."
Dash was not sure if Wilson heard but he could not go and save Wilson anyway. There was another heat signature that wasn't his sister's overlapping with his sister's.
"Sorry Wilson, I have to go and save my sister. If you can stay alive long enough, please do. When I am done, I will try to help you as well." He said.
Wilson who was under the scarred neck guy, blocking arm to arm to avoid the pointy knife penetrating his eye, grunted. He was in big trouble if the other hunters should appear. He had to get out of the situation before it took a turn for the worse.
He looked at his gauntlet. Of course! Why didn't he think of using the spikes. He grabbed the knife blade and turned it away from his head. He kicked the scarred guy in his bollocks and turned to his uninjured left side, forcing the opponent's knife into the ground in the process. He then, quickly raised his elbows and hit 'scarred neck' in the solar plexus.
The sharp dagger-like edge of his gauntlet stabbed right into him. The man spurt out blood excessively and tried to get away. Wilson would not allow it. He grabbed the scarred man still above him with his left hand and grabbed the knife that was stabbed into the ground with the other.
*chuk*
"Ugh"
*chuk* *sha* *chuk* *sha* *chuk*
Wilson stabbed and removed the knife and stabbed and removed the knife again and again until he bled out and dropped.
The last man with the bangs frowned and took aim at the too-tired-to-move Wilson.
Unfortunately for him, Charlie had arrived.
