"It's been twenty minutes your father took Mia inside, what would have been happening inside?" Travis questioned Victor.
"Travis, how would I know? I am standing in the same place like you. Are you sure no one has an idea about our visit to the hospital and Mia's husband getting treated? Everything will end if they get any idea about her real identity" Victor was worried.
"Don't worry Victor, we have taken enough measures. I put detectives and people on work if anyone should be controlled... it's Mia and I am really stunned to see Mia handling the matter with ease" surprise echoed in the voice of Travis as well as his eyes.
"I second you Travis, I was stunned at the way she handled the matter and shut everyone's mouth so graciously. Grand Mom was unable to say anything. I was too stunned" Victor sounded happy.
"Told you not to underestimate the girl…" Travis winked.
"Oh.. come on. You were worried she would mess up and went on teaching her about the ways of behaviour and ethics. Now don't bluff" Victor poked fun at his best friend.
"That's my concern for you, anyways I am happy that Mia handled it well" Travis was genuinely happy.
"She's here. Why does Dad look so serious? Did something mess up? She looks nervous" Victor sounded tensed looking at Mia following his father out of the room.
Everyone who was busy chatting among themselves turned their heads towards Mia and Victor's father Fedrick Cunningham.
"Victor.." Fedrick called out.
"Father" Victor stepped ahead while Travis was visibly tensed.
"I never expected this" Fedrick's voice rang danger bells inside Victor's heart.
The Queen and others assembled in the hall concentrated on the words Fedrick is saying.
"Apologize me Father, but I would love to know the reason behind your words" Victor forced a smile on to his face.
"I never expected you would do this. We were only worried about the threats you have from every side, but I was unable to analyze how you wanted to make a place in people's heart until Princess of Wesley briefed me how you chose to travel in the Economy only to gain the trust of people and chose cabs to understand their worries. This is something we need the most with the rise of duality debate about the Crown. You have surpassed our expectations. I never expected you would take these calculative steps. I am really proud of you for this" Fedrick appreciated Victor leaving him shell shocked.
"Is it true? So we are winning the trust of people? Victor, you always wanted to stay away from public affairs and that's the reason you went on a vacation with your fiancee against the rules when campaigning is needed. This step was never expected from you" Vincent, Victor's uncle lauded him.
Victor was just staring at Mia who is looking at the ground with surprise.
"Victor.. where are you lost?" his mother tapped his shoulder.
"Nowhere mother, I just don't know how to react" Victor gave an awkward smile looking at Travis who still didn't come back from the shock.
"That's his modesty Father, didn't I tell you he will be surprised when you ask him? He only wanted to give his best and he will go to any extent to save the respect of this family and the Crown," Mia chirped looking straight at Victor.
Victor understood the jab Mia took on him. He had no option except nabbing on Mia's weak point, though he felt bad that's the only route he had.
"Victor, so you finally started being serious in the official matters, I am proud of you son" Victor's mother patted his back.
"Let the Princess and Royal Prince have some rest. We have an announcement to make at the lunch," The Queen ordered standing up from her place.
Everyone bowed down to her while she walked down the stairs, before exiting the room she glanced at Mia from head to toe.
Without any reaction, she exited the room and Victor let a sigh of relief.
"Brother.." Laura jumped on Victor as soon as she saw The Queen exit.
"I missed you so much" Victor kissed her cheeks.
"So do I, how dare you ignore me since last one week?" Laura complained.
"I am sorry Princess, a little caught up with work" Victor kissed his sister's forehead placing her back on the marble floor.
"Busy in attending work or Busy romancing your soon to be wife" Laura winked.
"Laura.. manners" Victor's father warned.
"Sorry" Laura chirped.
"How many times should I warn you not to be disrespectful?" Fedrick warned.
"Oh come on Dad, my little sister have the right over her brother" Victor supported Laura.
"Victor, you better stay out. Finally, I am happy that you are at least taking the rules seriously. Your brother tarnished our image enough and half of the problems the throne is facing now are due to his atrocities. Now stop spoiling your sister with unwanted love and concern" Fedrick ordered.
"Sure Father, but my sister will never do anything as such, she is the best among all the kids" Victor winked at his sister.
"Those days were long gone. Now she is into many unwanted activities. She almost forgot she is a Princess and did some shit, that's the reason we had to put her under the radar. It will be better if you don't spoil her with unwanted love and affection. Go and have rest" Fedrick ordered.
Ordering everyone to disperse, Fedrick left the room.
"Finally.." Laura let a sigh of relief when she saw her father exiting the room.
"So dear little sister, what shit you have done to sit at home taking classes without attending college?" Victor quizzed.
"Just did the stuff every teenager does" Laura brushed off the topic.
"Vic, continue the talks later. Right now you guys need rest, you should look fresh by the time you attend lunch" Victor's mother patted him.
"Apple, where are you going?" Hazel's mother quizzed Mia who is following Victor.
"Why did you stop?" Mia questioned Victor who signaled her.
"You need to go to your parents dear" Victor's mother smiled at her.
"How? I don't even know where their grave is located" Mia shrugged shocking the shit out of Hazel's parents and exploding a bomb on Victor.
