The next day, I woke up around 5:30 a.m. Not wanting to wake up Olivia who was still sound asleep, I got up from my bed making as little noise as possible, took my laptop and headphones from my backpack and then sat down on my bed with the intention. quietly watching a movie but footsteps in the hallway made me change my mind. I got up from my bed and put my ear to the door to listen better and to know if my imagination was playing tricks on me. Footsteps were heard on the stairs again, I thought there might be a thief in the house so I opened the door just enough to slip through. I picked up Riggie's baseball bat outside his bedroom door and started following the footsteps from a distance… Once in the hall, I couldn't listen to the footsteps; as if the person has stopped. Less than a minute later, I heard the refrigerator close, so I headed for the kitchen. Once there I walked as quietly as I could to the refrigerator, bat in hand ready to strike if it was ever a thief but no one was around. I kill myself to try to hear the footsteps again but the kitchen light came on which blinded me for a few seconds, that's where I listened to a voice.
- So, (gave me the voice) ... are they spying on me?
- No no (I said, opening my eyes slightly to see who it was), I'm not spying on you at all.
I opened my eyes completely and saw a young man leaning against a kitchen cabinet with a worm of orange juice in his hand.
