Daniel and Wendy were able to get home before Uncle Ted got home. They rushed away from Baredek's waters after the discussion about Mount Salaka and also the mysterious black book was over.
Different from what Daniel had expected, Wendy was able to compromise. She did not interrupt Baredek's conversation or Daniel's. In the middle of the trip, Wendy also didn't ask many things, to the point that Daniel thought Wendy was in a trance, and so on.
But when he stopped suddenly in the middle of the road, turned to Wendy, and got a glare from her eyes, he knew that Wendy was fine.
"You scare me, you know!" Daniel commented, then returned to pedaling as hard as he could. "Why have you been silent earlier?" His hair fluttered in the wound as if colliding with all the invisible forces around him.
"I was just thinking, and also holding back. When I get home I will ask you many questions." And that's true.
