Desmond had to admit that, it was a little surprising to see so many people eager to see the alchemist tournament. While he understood that this event had a lot of importance on multiple levels, he didn't think it was something particularly interesting to watch.
It should be mentioned that Desmond had helped Sasha in a small way with some of her experiments when he had time, so he was not a stranger to alchemy. However, because of this, Desmond believed that unless one was involved in the process, as he was, watching as a bystander would not be very rewarding.
Sure, Desmond had come to watch the tournament, but his main interest was in Sasha, not the tournament itself as a means of entertainment. However, Desmond realized that maybe he was wrong, otherwise so many people wouldn't have come so excited. "Maybe it's a cultural thing." Desmond muttered, thinking it was a matter of perspective.
