Amidst the tremors, a stone hand pushed its way through the ground, followed by the rest of the body of a gigantic stone creature. The creature, which could only be described as a golem, had its body littered with glowing runes that pulsed with mana at every instant.
Desmond was about to prepare for battle as he endured the pain of his injuries. Still, he collapsed without warning, surprising both Cecilia and Kyuru. Desmond was oblivious to everything around him. At that moment, the only thing that filled his mind was a feeling of awful pain that seemed to come from all his sensory organs.
A second later, Desmond vomited on the floor as his body contorted in pain. Cecilia was surprised, to say the least, but that didn't stop her from reaching out to Desmond to help.
Kyuru was about to do the same when a hand rested on her shoulder.
