Thomas let out a sigh. "you think that's why? You're wrong. its because i feel like its a second chance given to us. we cant repeat the same mistake.
Especially I, cant turn a blind eye to something which is my fault."
"..."
"Your anger is justified. but If perry was here, she wouldnt want to see us fighting like this...after all, we both are whom she held dear the most."
Before Thomas could say anything else, a punch flew in his face. With the blow, he ended up on the ground "What was that for?! You wanna fight now-" his words got caught on his throat. he noticed miles's expression. It wasn't anger or sadness ... more like numbness.
"Stop being so overdramatic. even if you get imprisoned, with how rich you are, it wont take a second for you to come out." he again threw the file at thomas before leaving, "Give your best."
After miles's departure, Thomas stood alone at the spot. the last scene kept playing inside his head. 'maybe I shouldnt have mentioned perry...'
He suddenly remembered the first day Jay and Miles had entered and joined them in the investigation. It was about a month ago ... At first, he didn't expect any interaction or help with how much they hated each other.
But as they continued their search, they both clicked really well.
Even when the police asked them for cooperation, it was always them who were assigned together. because whenever they were together, something good always came out of it.
'Just a while ago...was it the last we saw each other?'

Grace was in one of her interview's backstage when the sudden bad news hit her. She quickly excused herself to the waiting room. Her assistant followed. Once they were out of public's view, Her face changed fron angel into a devil.
"How did they get there?!?" She threw a nearby book at her assistant. Enduring the blow, another one calmly replied, "They suddenly appeared with a search warrant. We couldnt object."
Her words were shrill and deafening, "You shithead! they'll find her in that warehouse! You must do something!"
"Worry not. I've already asked our men to move the hostage away and burn the place down. it wont leave any trace behind." figuring it has somehow made the crazy one a little relieved, he decided to leave.
"Great!....no wait!" but he was instead, stopped. the whole room was filled with silence. Her assistant could easily figure out she was thinking of something evil. "Dont get her out of there! burn her down with it."
"That's Not-"
"Listen to my order! We need to get rid of her! This is the only way. If she dies, there wont be anything against us. we can get two birds in one stone." unable to talk over her, he simply obeyed."...as you say."

"Anything on sight?" Thomas asked the men who came back from their search. "so far, we havent found anything in this area. there are just few abandoned storehouses." forced to acknowledged the fact, he turned away.
It has been hour since they started searching the warehouses. they were all found somehow...empty. dissappointment was spreading all over his face.
Just then, Henry came running, "It's getting late. If we don't find anything suspicious, we have to leave this place."
"I know...its just that...i feel like we're so close-" his dissapointment turned to horror when he saw that a warehouse across them was set on fire.

'its too hot...im burning up' jolted awake from a slumber, y/n looked around. her eyes widened in shock. Frightened by the sight, she backed away.
There was fire everywhere; The house was on fire, the doors and windows were on fire, and the fire had spread through various openings.
It was excruciatingly hot and she almost felt her skin burning.
The past week had already been too much for her. she was tired of fighting for her life. but to think that her death is completely settled in this fire, she couldnt help but scream and cry for help.
Her hands were tied tightly with ropes. everytime the flame came close, she could do nothing but move back. 'am I going to die like this ...?'
