Chapter 34 - Chapter thirty four: Lost love

"Its not that easy. havent you seen them, they walked out like they wont talk with anyone for rest of the week. "

"We'll make them talk." henry gave up and groaned in

frustration.

"Its not so easy for me either. I've seen miles losing his senses over these things. he's deeply affected by his past. now it involves thomas too. i cant just sit around and watch as they fight. "

"dont you get it, miles wouldnt tell us anything."

"what about Jay? he would, he knows it all. they cant keep us behind the curtain like this. we're friends too. we can help them out."

"how...? tomorrow they'll just walk right in and pretend like nothing happened." a silence fell between them. y/n clearly knew  what she was thinking but hesitated to speak out.

"what if we ask him now...he'll tell us if we persuade him." henry stared nowhere. he couldnt convince his mind to think alike.

"fine." y/n looked lighten up with the answer. but it wasnt the same case for the other, he looked rather worried. "but y/n, promise me something." a spark of nervousness started to build up inside her. she feared to hear his next words.

"No matter what happens tonight, promise me, you'll never choose between us and that guy."

Jay laid down in his bed, his mind continuously alarming him about the trouble miles caused. he knew he had to fix things up, he knew he's the only one who can help miles. but it was cruel for him. Jay could never act like others cause he always had to keep his friends in their right track. without realising, he lost himself, he lost the real him...

Someone knocked on the door to get his attention. he turned to see his half-asleep mom standing, "you're friends are here." she said and left.

Jay sat still in his bed. he wasnt surprised that y/n and henry came to visit him at this hour. he was expecting them to ask him about the incident. but he couldnt fix his mind to tell them or not. it could lessen the burden he felt for the last years...but did he want it?

Henry and y/n looked around the lavish house jay lived in. From end to start everything had neat and expensive furnishings. the living room was spacious with few photo frames hanging on the wall. Henry walked toward them to take a better look. just then, Jay decided to show up and welcome his friends, "what do you want?" Henry didnt bother to answer him and kept looking at the pictures.

"We want you to explain what happened in the club. what problem do miles and thomas have with each other?" Sicheng let out a sigh and sat in one of the sofa.

"the problem itslef is asking about the problem." he said under his breath but it was enough audible for the other.

"Insulting me wouldnt fix anything. I want you to tell me about Miles's past."

"Im not telling anyone some bedtime stories, please leave." . Henry walked toward them with a small photo frame in his hand. he throws the picture infront of jay, "Is this her?" y/n looked at the picture and caught sight of three child in there. two boys with a girl in the middle. Jay stayed quiet.

"We want to know what happened to her." it wasnt the usual henry speaking anymore. He was determined to hear what Jay had to say . the last time he acted like this was back in his final game. the fierce side of him who'll do anything to get what he wants. Jay couldnt stay quiet any longer. he picked up the picture and stared at it , recalling the past."we grew up together...three of us."

"...she killed herself."

The room was dark. things were thrown around the floor. glass pieces were shattered in places. In the corner, Miles leaned against the wall. his body trembling. the sharp-eged cut in his hands dripping bloods as he took long breaths. his head was spinning crazily with the deadly amount of drink he drank before. after a long time of fighting, he opened up his eyes. the unbearable pain in his chest threating him to burst out in tears. he reached out for a piece of glass and whispered a name under his breathe, "perry..."
